NIJI Sushi & Steak

We had not realized that on-site dining was once again available (apparently since January) so it was wonderful to come in for lunch today and see Joy! The new decorations and booths add a nice touch and the food was wonderful. We will be back soon.

Wonderful sushi! Went there for the lunch special, $7.50 for 2 rolls. Excellent quality and easy access off 151st Street. Friendly staff, but it wasn't very busy for a Saturday noon. I figured this little place would be much busier given the quality and price of the meal. I hope this little gem continues to be open, I found my new go to sushi joint!

A few minor changes have made a big difference. Decorative umbrellas on the lights add a nice cultural flare while making the light soft and indirect. Some new wall art, updated booths/chairs, and even some bathroom remodeling have vastly improved the feel of dining in. No caveats anymore: this is my favorite sushi place in Johnson County.

Our sushi go-to, to go

The food is fantastic and the service is pleasant. The atmosphere is calm and quiet and the decorations are well balanced between east and west. The specials have local ties and we've never had an issue with to-go orders on phone or in person.

That said, it is part of a strip mall and the eastern polish doesn't quite overcome the drop ceilings for atmosphere.

I can't rate highly enough for carry out, but would think twice about dining in.

Seriously the best sushi I’ve ever had! This will now be my new go to spot. Did not disappoint. The gyoza’s were so good and the fried tuna roll was amazing. 10/10 recommend.

NIJI has the best sushi selection and prices in the Gardner/Olathe area!! I so wish they were open on Sundays though! Every few weeks I order 6-9 rolls online to bring home for my family -- I was surprised the first time I ordered because when I arrived 15-20 minutes after ordering they were still working on my order. They were apologetic and explained that they were busy and large orders like mine take longer to make (they usually only have 1-2 people making sushi). Now I'm used to it, I'll order online 30-45 minutes before arriving to pick it up. I don't even mind though -- it is well worth the wait, their sushi is so fresh and delicious! Our favorites are Spicy Santa Roll, Spicy Crab Roll, and Shrimp Tempura Roll!

This place is literally one the best kept secrets in Olathe. I always get the Lunch Hibachi Steak and it comes with so much food for such a good price (under $10 before tax). Food is always prepared fresh and made to order and their fried rice is made exactly how I like! Give this small business a try and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Niji is my favorite lunch place. Service is great, it's really relaxing, and the food is perfect. I get the lunch special, which is two or three rolls with salad and miso soup. Portions are very good. I can be in and out in half an hour depending on how hungry I am.

Ordered delivery. Delivery driver dropped off the food at 8:07. Did not bother to nock let alone ring the doorbell. (Uber driver not associated with the business) I did not find out there was anything sitting on my front door until over an hour later and only because a neighbor stopped by. Called Niji to see what could be done and if the food was safe to eat as it was 15 minutes from closing and 95° outside. They asked if I could come back up to the store they would just remake it because it is not safe to eat. I had just finished putting my son to bed and couldn't leave. One of the staff delivered it herself after the chef remade it for me. The food is phenomenal and the service is the best. I am so grateful and will be frequenting this establishment a LOT more often!

This place was absolutely great!! Tried allot of different types of sushi and they were all just lovely. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

This place is adorable and so Japanese in decor, I love it!!! The food is fantastic and did not disappoint. We had the yummy roll and it's my favorite roll of all time! It's a shrimp tempura roll that is delicious. This meal would have been perfect with a little hot sake. Highly recommend this place. Amazing

It may the closest sushi place to us, but consistently this place has some of the best sushi we've had in Kansas. They are always kind and attentive. The food is always fresh and we've never had any issues with the sushi we get. We love this place and will continue to support their delicious rolls. We always try a new roll every time we go in, and currently the outstanding roll is our favorite.

I can't believe I didn't find this place sooner. Really great lunch spot if you're a fan of Sushi - they've got a good selection of rolls at very reasonable prices. I was able to get a salad, soup, and 3 rolls for under $10. Definitely worth the money.

This place is a bit hard to see from the road which might explain why even though I've been to the Pizza Shoppe right next door, I didn't even know this place existed until today.

This place has superb service AND delicious Japanese food! Due to covid, niji is only accepting take out orders that you order online through their website. This wonderful hostess, server, waitress, hard working lady acknowledged her customers in 34 degree weather with an outdoor table set up for the orders. She greeted 3 of us with smiles and reassurance to take our form of payment inside the restaurant and return shortly with our orders. While we froze, she was quick , prompt , and had minimal contact with us but brought back outside our orders her and fresh to eat at home. The best service I have received from any business during covid pandemic.

Carefully crafted sushi rolls with good flavors and high-quality fish. Always polite, plenty of napkins, asks if we need silverware or chopsticks before putting them in the bag so they don't waste them, and always gives us gluten-free soy sauce for my wife's food allergy. A hidden gem in Olathe. Unpretentious good quality food.

It was our first time ordering from NIJI's. Food was great! We had Natobi and Yammy rolls and Hibachi dinners. Difanatelly be getting food from them again!
