great park! definitely a hidden gem! I loved all the cool scenery sprinkled throughout the park. it is a great place to take some kids and go for a stroll. lovely scenic views everywhere. they also had an area where you could rent a kayak, how cool is that?

I mostly use Black Hoof Park for the disc golf course(s). You can play anywhere from beginner-level, to an extremely challenging championship- level course.
The playgrounds are also great and one of the few with abundant shade and age-appropriate amenities for a wide range of kids.
The dam and the lake are beautiful and the visual appeal is far beyond the vast majority of parks in the area. The trails around the park and the self-service kayak rentals give you many opportunities to view these from several angles. Be sure you have a proper and up to date fishing license if you plan to fish there.

This is a beautiful and relaxing place where I love taking my kayak. If you don’t have a kayak of your own, they do have some to offer. The wildlife viewing is great and the trails are well maintained. This is definitely a great place for anyone to enjoy.

Very nice for a casual walk/run. Or if you're more into hiking/biking there's extended off-path trails.

First time visiting this park and the trails are long and winding and great for exercise. The lake is big enough to take a small boat or canoe out. They also have a few playground areas for kids. Overall it's A+.

The best disc golf course in the area - shoot maybe in all of Kansas. Nearly every hole has multiple tees and multiple pins providing an appropriate level of challenge for nearly any disc golfer.

Challenging lines, a water carry, elevation, a nearly 1100 foot hole? Yep all here. Forehand shots, trees, tough but fair fairways? Yeah all of that.

Great signage, beautiful teepads, clean fairways with lovely grass. Oh did I mention the 9 hole pitch and putt on the other side of the parking lot? Yeah -it's great.

This is such a great place to explore. One side of the lake near the boat ramp is paved. The other side is crushed gravel. I did the 1 mile loop path. The dam was made in a way that it is artwork blending the manufactured in with the nature. It is short to kayak around but sometimes that is fun if you want to have a chill paddle and to enjoy nature. Restroom and water fountain facilities near the boat ramp. The board walk in the marshy area was a new find to me after 3 visits. Really there's new discoveries each time. Would highly reccomend this local gem that I personally overlooked for too many years.

This place was great! They have both soft trails as well as paved trails. There are even rock steps going up a hill, not just flat trails. Some of the trees have plaques identifying them for those interested. They have bathrooms and also rent bikes.I am not sure of the cost but I think it was the KC bike project.

Many activities to do at this park. There are kayaks and bikes to use, as well as a large shelter, playgrounds, nice bathrooms, and 2 disc golf parks. There’s an 18 hole course, and an easier 9 hole course along with a beautiful hiking trail!

BE-AU-TI-FUL Park. Nice and clean trail to take the kiddos on a walk. The breeze from the wind made it even better. Very beautiful. The bathroom definitely needs to be cleaned. The only con for this place.

Beautiful! The lake has lily pads around the edge of the water and it looks like a dream. This area was perfect for our kayaking and paddle boating adventures!

Cute little lake in Lenexa with walking trail that goes around the lake and into a marsh area. Beautiful overlook at the dam with unique construction. Lots of educational signs if you are into that kind of thing. Saw many people in kayaks on the lake. Very spacious shelters and clean bathrooms. It was a very pleasant trip and if you go, definitely make your way to the dam- it's worth the short walk from the parking area!

Wonderful trail. Very well maintained and thoroughly enjoyable.
Its a total of 2 miles start to finish, I wish it was a bit longer.
Along the way i saw a few deer to boot!

Absolutely enjoyed this park. We decided to go on the trail for a walk. It took an hour to get to the other side from the dam wall but it was fun! Me and kids kept thinking we were lost but we weren't! It's a great place to just unwind and smell clean air...the bathrooms were not clean, so do your business before getting there😉

Love the trails and nature walks. Frisbee Golf was super fun and challenging. I threw my disc into a tree on every hole but one.
