American Flatbread

What a pleasant surprise. Decided to dine outside under the pavilion. Drink was amazing in flavor. Flatbread crisp and toppings were great right down to the fresh herbs. Quick to be seated and staff extremely friendly. Highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

Great food, great service! We’ve been trying to get to this place on one of our trips up to Vermont and finally made it happen. Their house salad is enough for 2 and the flatbread pizzas were top notch! Will definitely return.

American Flatbread located in Middlebury was a great find during our road trip through Vermont. We arrived in the evening and the building didn't look like much until we went inside. There is a hostess table in the front and a large dining area to your right with a stone fireplace where you can see them cooking pizzas. In the left is a bar area and some extra seats. This is a very unique restaurant that serves delicious brick oven pizzas. They state they use local sourced ingredients in their food which was evident by the taste of the pizza. There is a lot of interesting art located outside and inside the restaurant providing an eclectic and welcoming vibe. We sat at the bar and the bar tender was very attentive and welcoming. We ordered three pizzas, two small and one large. The large pizza was split with the New Vermont Sausage and Pepperoni & Pepper varieties. All the pizzas were great, but I liked the New Vermont Sausage the best. The bar offers a great selection of liquor, beer, and cider. The bar tenders were busy making classic cocktails. With the menu there was a letter written from what appeared to be the owner that shared an interesting story that is dedicated to the week's menu. I found it to be interesting and it shows that they put that extra effort into making the dining experience more enjoyable. I highly recommend stopping into the American Flatbread restaurant for delicious food, good times, and an interesting experience.

When picking up my pizza last night, they discovered the kitchen had my order wrong. They offered to make me another one (it was ready within 10 mins) and offered me a beer while I waited. The young man who assisted me was excellent. Definitely will be back!!

One of our favorite restaurants in Vermont! Delicious pizza, fresh salads, and great drink selection. New Vermont Sausage pizza was the fan favorite but Revolution is always a great choice. Had to try the Heady Topper IPA and was not disappointed. Felt very safe with social distance outdoor dining. Highly recommend American Flatbread you cant go wrong!

Great pizza, service, and drinks. Every meal is enjoyable. Definitely don't skip the one with maple syrup.

Love the pizza here! The waitress did say that the cook has a thing against ranch and that is why they do not carry it. Not a deal breaker. Just get take out instead.

Flatbreads are always great. Hot right out of the oven any way you want them. VERY fresh toppings. Everyone who works there is amazing.

A must stop in. Don’t make the mistake of getting Togo. After a week of trying places in Middleburry, VT this is it! The place I will come back to VT for.

Let’s start with their service and mixologists behind the bar. They are True craftsman. Alicia took care of me and they are the real deal. The mixologist. The creator. They make sitting at the bar is a free show of how a drink should be. A bit of unique flavor, some creativity and a mixologists that brings the heart.

Try the Oaxaca old fashion and then try the origami boy! You are welcome.

As for the flatbread. Pick your poison. Amazing. Tried the follow your bliss and punctured equilibrium. The best way to describe how good they were is by explaining how hard it was not to buy two more. That’s for next time. Self control is important, after all.

I absolutely love this place! Have been here a few times. Sat at the bar, at a regular table inside as well as outside. Their flatbread (pizza) is fantastic. I always have a Cosmopolitan (or two). And their staff is soooo helpful, attentive, fun to talk to and kind. Spend your money here!

Amazing flatbread pizza baked in a stone oven! Great service, very friendly! Place was very packed, due to being close to the college. Reasonably priced food and a decent variety of different pizzas to choose from!

A perennial favorite in MIddlebury. Wood fire pizza made with locally sourced ingredients. Great selection of local beers. UPDATE AUGUST 2018: Exactly the same.

The pizza is delicious, and they were happy to accommodate when one of the pizzas we ordered wasn't what we were expecting, and they replaced it with a different pizza with no hesitation. The pizza we sent back was the "Dancing Heart," we had not realized how dry it would be -- in my opinion this pizza would be much better if it had more oil or sauce of any kind. None of our party thought it tasted good, which was a bit of a shock since most of us had eaten here before and agreed that every pizza we had ever ordered here had been truly delicious. The "Punctuated Equilibrium" pizza on their menu is my personal favorite. Definitely 5 stars for the place overall, the atmosphere is lovely and the service is great. Will be eating here again for sure.

One of my favorite pizza pizzas in the country! Specifically this location. I am from Chicago and eat a lot of pizza and this is definitely one of my top spots.

- can't go work with any of the pizzas and the specials are often creative
- salads come fresh and they use a cold bowl which makes it feel even better

What a find ! Coming from NY city noted for good Pizza this casual restaurant has a fantastic menu of wood fired Pizza 🍕 & Draft Beer 🍻 many local to the Vermont area ! Pizza makers & Oven master are in full view of customer's in the dining room! A full bar is to the left as you walk in & you can dine at the bar ! Plenty of parking & take out is always an option ! Enjoy !😋

First off, the hosts were super warm and welcoming. Walked in on a Wednesday around 545p and it was POPPIN. Had no idea the caliber of pizza restaurant it was. It definitely lived up to its popularity. Despite their busy-ness, the lovely hostess helped me order a pie. I simply wanted a pepperoni pie (the menu can be a bit overwhelming). The pizza came out hot and quite perfect. The small 'medroni' had a thin, crunchy, chewy, yet light crust with great char (I didn't even need to ask for it well done). The cheese, sauce, and ronis were top notch. Sauce, perfect tomato-ness and not too sweet. The pepperoni, slight crisp. The pizza had a lovely umani, full flavor to it. As a NY-er I usually put garlic powder, chili flake, black pepper, and a touch of oregano on my pizza. On this pizza, NOTHING additional was needed... We had it to-go and sat outside in their front seats. Tried the grass, but ants galore... I ate the entire pie - I'll DEF be back.
