Hostels are always interesting, and this one was no exception. They ask that you take your shoes off at the front. I stayed in a female room with two bunk beds. everyone was very nice and welcoming and the common room was clean and well decorated. There is a tv, games, and computers available for leisure or to get work done; as well as a full kitchen. the waffles available in the morning were delicious. Definitely worth the price if you aren't squeamish about sharing space and being social with strangers.

I’m so glad I found this place. It’s cozy and welcoming, quiet at night. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly, giving tips about local food, helping with bags, and looking up transportation options. There was free breakfast, linens and towels were provided, showers, toilets, bedrooms and common areas were clean and inviting. The shower room had a basket of trial size amenities to make use of, the water was plentiful and hot.
I can’t recommend it enough. I would stay here over a hotel even if the prices were the same. I loved meeting people and wish I could stay longer.

Love it! Staff and owner are really friendly! Comfortable, nice social area, friendly atmosphere! They provide towels and sheets and they have pretty much everything you'd need for a night. They have free breakfast! Waffles as well as a self serve kitchen. Located one block from downtown fun and close by pretty much everything! Free parking Around the corner! Had a great time would gladly come back!

Clean, comfortable, and conveniently located -- it doesn't get much better than that! Met a lot of nice people and had a warm place to sleep after a day of adventures in Burlongton and the surrounding area. Free breakfast daily also wasn't a bad touch. They even let me hang out and get ready for a wedding I was attending after I checked out, such nice people! Only drawback is that it's priced about the same as other local hotels during peak leaf peeping season, so it may be worth it to check other sites for prices before booking in the fall.

Outstanding hospitality at the Burlington Hostel!
The environment is genuinely welcoming, intentionally comfortable, artistically decorated and impeccably clean!
Quiet hours are implemented so guest can enjoy a restful sleep for a full day of discovering Burlington the next day!
The owner, Michael is on site to greet and accommodate guests on a daily basis and the Hostel staff are very kind, intelligent and happy to share information about significant sites in Burlington.
Almost Nirvana, just saying....

Easily the most comfortable lodging atmosphere I have experienced! Friendly guests and amazing host made me feel right at home. Beds are comfortable and clean, bathrooms and shower facilities are remarkably clean and well labeled for easy operation. Loads of entertainment and endless games, much more to do than an overpriced hotel. Computers are available to work on, and television in community area is hooked up with games and endless entertainment. There is fridge space and kitchen access for anybody looking to save money on food, and for the less prepared there are loads of delightful dining options within walking distance. Whether you’re a social butterfly or a reclusive introvert, you will find what you need here! Well priced and in a great location, would recommend to anybody staying in or around Burlington for any amount of time.

This place is rad! The staff here is just rad and just cool to talk to. They know every place in town and have a multitude of stories to share. For a hostel, they did a great job of keeping the noise at acceptable levels. The location is right in town and for the price cannot be beat. Kind of disappointed the waffles didn't come with real maple syrup

This was my first hostel experience and a very pleasant one. The staff were incredibly friendly and had endless suggestions and advice for what to do in Burlington and around. Beds and showers were clean and well-maintained and internet of a good speed. Further, it's right in the heart of Burlington - about 10 minutes walk to the lakeside, and 10 minutes to Church Street. Great place, great price.

Love, love, love this place. Traveling by myself, I look for affordable places... This certainly exceeded my expectations. It's got everything you need-- Safe, warm, quiet place to sleep. Warm showers. A commonplace to socialize with other people from all over the world (if you choose to!). A full kitchen to be able to put food in the fridge and breakfast every morning. It was perfect and I'd stay here over and over again.

A great and clean place to stay. The location is perfect as it is only two blocks away from the downtown area and you're practically right by the water as soon as you walk out the place. Waffles in the morning never got tiring the week I spent there.

The only thing I can fault the place for is that from 11-3 you have to be out as they are cleaning. Now if they did this every couple of days I could understand but everyday seemed excessive, especially given the fact that most days it wasn't even crowded to begin with so there wasn't much that needed cleaning.

Overall loved it though and you can't beat that price.

I had a positive experience at the Burlington Hostel. I was treated like a VIP guest. The staffers were super helpful and people-friendly. The hostel is conveniently located in the downtown area of Burlington. By the way, the hostel is extremely affordable and cozy.

Special thanks to Sam for his hospitality and going beyond the call of duty in answering all my questions/concerns.

Cette un dormir. I was able to rest well. My things only of value to me were safe. The staff are friendly, engaging, helpful and for a person with a disability that provides me with a peace of mind. The environment is so clean and everything you will need is provided. I planned to stay one night only and was without hesitation to extend fir two more nights. The Board game collection is phenomenal. The conversations were stimulsting, diverse, respectful and reminded me if a time when we actually talked to one another like in the 1900s to the 1990s. My lap top remained in the locker the entire time of my stay. Rest well travelers!

Clean facility, incredible security system, warm showers, afforadable rates, great company, fresh coffee, daily enticing conversations..need I say more?
In all honesty, it is nearly impossible to describe my own great experiences staying at the Burlington hostel. At the moment you are buzzed in at the door, you're welcomed with open arms, open minds, and open hearts. Whether you want to be surrounded by perfect strangers, or find solitude in you're own bunk or corner in the room, you will not be let down.
Staff is always incredibly accommodating. They'll hardly ever fail to suggest the best spots in town--so forget Yelp! The team really knows their stuff when it comes to the best eateries, shops, venues, events, breweries, outdoor activities, etc.,etc. They sincerely want us, visitors and vagabonds alike, to see the true Vermont.

Keep doin' what you're doin' Burlington Hostel folk!

Great place, very very close to Church Street, definitely clean!
Of course it sucks that there's no individual rooms - the other ladies didn't seem to care that they were sharing the space.
The little deception was that we weren't allowed to drink any alcohol so we didn't get the chance to drink our duty-free wine.

What makes this place Magical is the location, the people are helpful and super friendly. The waffles tasty in the morning, the WiFi works all over. If there is ever an issue Sam is the man and can help you with your wants/needs.

Great spot. Friendly staff, great residents, clean rooms. The location of this hostel is definitely it's most winning point-a minute's walk from Church St., even closer to the lakefront. Would definitely stay again and again.

Third visit to Burlington. Second visit to Hostel.

Such a home/family atmosphere.
Shelled out a few extra bucks for the deluxe room with a view. Met a few DC/MD/VA metropolitan folks. You'll spend more time conversing with the diverse and interesting hostel patrons than you will exploring the city if you're not careful.

Sidenote: Smoking inside of the hostel is still prohibited even if your room has a window 😂😂

My first hostel and it won't be the last. Very friendly and a true Bohemian experience. It's like going to camp! Glad I got a bottom bunk, easier after a local food and beer run.

Stayed here for two nights on both ends of a day at Stowe (in March). The staff was excellent and helpful, and the facilities were clean and spacious - by far the best housing deal in Burlington. While in town, be sure to eat at The Skinny Pancake and Ben & Jerry's; two Vermont originals born in Burlington.
