Waterworks Food + Drink

The entire experience from beginning to end was nothing short of fabulous! Our waitress was awesome, food and drink including hummus/olive appetizer, short ribs, scallops, and unique sides was amazing. We topped it off with red wine and chocolate dessert. The location adjacent to river and warehouse vibe are perfect!

INCREDIBLE WEDDING VENUE!! We had our wedding at Waterworks at the end of September 2023 and we could not have asked for a better venue!!

We had our ceremony in the River House, followed by cocktail hour on the patio and then dinner in the dining area. The food and drinks were absolutely incredible, and the Waterworks team is even more incredible. From the beginning of planning to the day of, Ben and Maria were wonderful and made the process so easy and enjoyable. We could not have asked for a better planning experience or a better wedding day at Waterworks.

Superb food accompanied by gorgeous views and excellent service. Food was fantastic, we return again and again and it's always perfectly prepared and delicious. This time we enjoyed the fall apart short ribs with the red wine reduction, clam chowder, and Caesar salad served with white anchovies that were huge and butter poached lobster tails. Cocktails are served exactly to order. Food intolerances are dietary restrictions are easily accommodated by the chef. The servers are friendly and attentive. The views along the Winooski falls are gorgeous. Book a table along the windows if you want to watch the water flow. If it's late afternoon, you can ask to be either seated facing the sun or with the sun behind you in which case you're looking upstream into the woods as the water flows down. There's a huge amount of high tables for eating at and a lot of seating at the bar. You can also sit outside under umbrellas to enjoy the rush of the water beside you. There are vertical heaters out there to keep you warm even in the cooler months. Fantastic cocktails! Can't say enough about the meals here; no wonder it's so popular.

Everything was Absolutely AMAZING! The energy from the beginning until my departure was excellent. My drinks, appetizer & main course were mind blowing! I pride myself on being a foodie & with that ,it takes a lot to totally WOW me! My meal consisted of the “Pan roasted salmon with cauliflower mash/beet purée with root vegetables ” I also ordered an appetizer of Brussels sprout….not one complaint!!!! My server Richard was extremely pleasant! Dave (manager) made a point to personally greet me and inquire about my food/service! That spoke volumes! If I ever de ice to visit the area again, this will definitely be a place to dine again! The ambiance & views are unparalleled! Simply, a must do for anyone looking for a delicious meal with excellent customer service…

Memorable evening out! Great food & craft cocktails. Cool vibe in an historic building with incredible views of the river. Watching the open kitchen from the upper loft was fun - like watching a well choreographed ensemble of skilled cooks and support staff. Our server Zoey was awesome— well versed in the menu for recommendations and the perfect balance of attentiveness. The food arrived hot and beautifully presented.

Truly impressed by the food here. I’ve been three times so far and it’s been consistently fantastic. The salmon is a work of art! The bread is really good too, but you have to ask for it. I’ll be back here for sure!

The view here is spectacular. But it's the food that will have you screaming with ecstacy!

Great food, cool place, decent view, a bit expensive but not the worst. Kind of a small menu but everyone enjoyed their food. Fries were some of the best I've had, especially with the garlic aoli sauce. The meat was delicious and juicy. Peanut butter pie was great, maybe a little small. Flatbread was really good! Calamari was decent, but I've had quite a bit better. I'll go again!

We went here with my visiting mother in law and friend. Not only was the server completely accommodating to our allergy needs, but he went above and beyond to recommend dishes, and check in with us throughout the meal. I ordered a house made pasta special, and it was genuinely one of the best things I’ve eaten in a long time!

We’ve been coming to Waterworks for years and consistently have experienced delicious food and great service. Yesterday evening we showed up with our 2 year old. Immediately upon being seated the owner dropped off a side of fries to keep her occupied. Little did he know just moments before my husband and I realized we forgot to pack a small snack to tide her over while we ordered. It was a small but meaningful gesture that made a world of difference in our experience. Our waitress was knowledgeable, personable and communicative and all our dishes were excellent - especially the braised short ribs! We look forward to continuing to come back to Waterworks.

The view is phenomenal. The food is even better. Got the short rib and it was so tender and delicious. Only critical feedback would be not enough of the great sauce on it, but that’s a personal preference for sure.
Also, the staff are beyond friendly and attentive!

This place was so beautiful in Vermont. It has a view of whether rivers that loggers would use to transport wood in the past. Aside from it being beautiful, the food was delicious. The appetizers to the main meal, and while I did have the burger they made a nice gourmet burger with truffle fries. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was delicious and you have to go check this place out and see for yourself. I recommend as the sun goes down which is a beautiful view from the enclosed patio facing the river.

The best “The Burger” I have ever had in my life. Delicious! Waitress was very sweet. I was very happy with our experience. The view was very cool and the inside was awesome. Wish we didn’t life 5.5 hours away. We would definitely be back. Also had dessert and 2 beers. $81 before tip. Not the worst

Can't say enough good things about this place. Great everything from the cocktails to the apps and food. The service is top notch and David is the best front of the house guy that I have ever met. Lots of event space too. Check out their virtual tour for an immersive experience prior to arrival

I haven't been here in ten years. It was absolutely fantastic. I had beef short ribs w lobster tails as an add on. Lobster was fantastic and buttery. Short ribs were melt in yo mouf. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Would go again l, 10/10 for this area.

From start to finish our experience at Water Works was terrific. We arrived early for our reservation and was greeted warmly by the hostess on a very busy night. She promised to notify us when our table was ready and we had a drink at the bar. The bartender, despite working at a frantic pace treated us like friends and took the time to chat just a little. He made us feel welcome. I had an excellent local beer and my wife had a very good Mai Tai.
When our table was ready we were seated at a window table looking out over the river. The restaurant is beautiful top to bottom and the view was spectacular. Randy, our waiter was such a nice guy. He also was very busy but took just the extra few moments to chat with us and help us make perfect dinner selections.
I had visited this restaurant many years ago before it was shuttered and then reborn. When the owner, David heard that I had been there (in 1984) he came to our table and sat down for a nice chat. He told us of the history of the building and how he brought it back to life some years ago. He's done a magical job of creating a wonderful atmosphere in a historic building. Winooski is a very cool town. Water Works is top of the list of you plan on visiting.
I commented on the friendly atmosphere later as we were leaving to the hostess and she completely and unguardly agreed that David has created an environment where everyone on the staff is happy. The truly love David and that really translates in the dining experience. We left feeling really great about everything. The food was great. The people were great and the place is beautiful.

I worked an event at Waterworks as a vendor and had such a wonderful experience with their events staff! Ben and his team were professional, attentive and enthusiastic about their work. Everyone from the management to the servers were so kind to guests and vendors alike. When working an event as a vendor, it’s common for the venue staff to treat the guests well but not care much about the other vendors. This was not the case at all at Waterworks. They worked seamlessly with the vendors and even checked in on us throughout the night to be sure we had what we needed to do our jobs and provide an excellent service for our clients. They truly go above and beyond! The food and desserts were incredible, and the atmosphere was perfect for a wedding or corporate event. Their new ceremony space is also stunning. We had such a great experience and give them our highest recommendation!
