Vintage 1847 Restaurant

We highly recommend this restaurant, especially to those who have yet to visit here. German food doesn't always get a lot of love. It's all good here!

We ate here on a recommendation from family and were not disappointed. We had the schweineschnitzel and the German trio. Both excellent. The red cabbage was a favorite and the best I've ever had. We also had the caramel toffee custard apple pie and the blackberry wine. Also excellent. Definitely a place to visit again.

This place is cool and has very tasty food with good portions. I would say the bread pudding isn't worth $7.50, but it kind of is. It's a bit small, but I'm fat, so do with that information what you will. The food is a bit pricey in general. It tastes amazing and authentic though!

Relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Didn't have a reservation but only had about a 15 minute wait. Went shopping for wine after lunch at the winery right next to the restaurant.

Highly recommend reservations. Just a mile or 2 off of the Main Street. Great food and friendly staff. The chicken spaetzle was very good as the trio meat dish, which was very hearty. Salad was very fresh and loved the house dressing. Cool old place.

Love this restaurant. This is the second time I've been here and they never disappoint. The pretzel sticks are mouth watering.... and that just sets you up for a delicious lunch or dinner. Don't leave without some of their homemade bread pudding. If you don't have room - get it to go! You won't be disappointed! Enjoy!

Ordered the bacon cheeseburger, Ruben & curds to go. Staff was unbelievably friendly, food came out in 10 minutes, affordable, and was the best tasting sandwiches we've had in a long time. Thick cut bacon, fresh tomatoes, seasoned fries. Food was out of this world. 10/10 will eat here again

New residents to Missouri, drove to Hermann from Wentzville where we live now at the suggestion of some co-workers. Was interested in some German food, specifically Schnitzel because it's one of my favorites. Ended up at Vintage because its menu had Schnitzel and appeared appealing. The converted horse barn was gorgeous inside. Table was a slight squeeze for my larger size but it worked. Service was great, manager table touched a couple times during our visit. Shows they care. Wine list is comprehensive offering flights. I would have liked to be able to mix some wines by choice I stead of limited to four options of red, white, sweet traditional, and sweet flavors. The kids menu is basic with pizza, burger, chicken strips. Would have liked to be able to offer at least one German option for the kiddos. The menu had a good selection of German options from sausage to Schnitzel to roast. Unable to choose, I went with the German Trio; Schnitzel, sausage, and roast with sides of warm German potato salad and braised red cabbage. The meal was amazing. The sausage was cooked perfectly and was packed with flavor. The roast itself was a tad dry but the sauce on top helped with hints red wine. The German potato salad was a surprise. I'm typically not a fan, but this lacked the ever present bitter flavor. It was warm and the potatoes were firm but melted in each bite. The braised red cabbage was another surprise. Slightly sweet and warm cabbage flavor. To the reason I came....Schnitzel. The meat was very tender and well cooked. The breading met my expectations of a light fried taste. Seasoning didn't overpower the flavor of the meat and breading. Overall, excellent excellent food. So glad we made the trip. I stopped in the store to purchase a couple bottles of wine. Looking forward to it. Keep up the great work!

The restaurant at Stone Hill Winery is in a converted carriage house. It's rustic but the food is delicious. For a small plate, the pretzels are yummy. Try the schnitzel with the house German potato salad--it's unlike any you've tasted before, more like roasted potatoes. The camellia wine is the perfect sweet complement to a meal.

Was there last night. The food was excellent at a reasonable price. The chef is a young guy, but he knows what he's doing.

What a fantastic dinner! From the French onion soup and Vegetable Spaetzle for me (so delicious!) to the Wurst sampler and Ribeye (incredibly tender) for my husband with very good service, a really great experience. Thank you!

This was a bucket list restaurant for us. We had information that this was the best place for German cuisine in Hermann. The information was correct, as to how good the restaurant is. We started with the French onion soup. It was out of this world good. My wife had the vegetable spaetzle, she really enjoyed the dish. If she had a complaint, more mushrooms. I had the trio, which was just delightful. Jagerschnitzel, sauerbraten, and a bratwurst, red cabbage, and German potato salad. If you want a really excellent dining experience, this is the place.

We've been coming back here for years. Although the menu has been cut back, the German schnitzel is still delicious. Coupled with your favorite wine, you can't leave here hungry or disappointed.

My salon does make and hair for a lot of bridal parties in Hermann, and this is our go to spot for after. Great food and wine with beautiful views.

This is one of my favorites of all time for German food. I had the trio and she had the Chicken Spaetzel, both were excellent. The service by Alyssa let us wanting nothing.

We got the Reuben, cheese curds and a bacon cheeseburger.

Each item was perfect, the beef and the bacon was amazing, phenomenal taste.

The cheese curds were fantastic, and the Reuben was one of the best we've had.

Service was great, and the wait time for the meal was maybe 10 minutes from ordering to being served.

If your here for a few days for a vacation you have to stop here.
