Stumbled upon this gem during a road trip. We received the best service that I have seen anywhere in the United States. The owner was extremely welcoming and took the time from his busy cooking time to talk to us and explain about the restaurant. Given that it was our first time there he gave a tray full of menu items to taste , explaining in detail about all them. Everything we tried was delicious. The gumbo is as good as you would get in Nola and the cat fish (which comes from Louisiana I believe ) was fresh and perfectly prepared. We also tried the alligator sausage , it was so good. And finally we wrapped up with beignets. Everything is made from scratch and is well made!
Also everything is extremely economically priced especially for the high quality of food. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for a catering option for a party or work event, look no further! Cajun Kate's was amazing to work with for our catered work event. We got so much food for the cost and the food was absolutely amazing! Check out the food pictures attached, and these are just some of the options that Cajun Kate's offers. They have many more options that we considered, but knew we already had more than enough food. They're extremely nice and super flexible to work with. We went and picked up our order, which required an suv with drop down seats it was so much food, so come prepared with plenty of space.

I don't know what else to say except we will definitely use Cajun Kate's again for future events, so I hope they're ready for us! 😀🎉

I've eaten from this restaurant a couple of times now after first listening to glowing reviews from co-wokers and friends. This has to be my favorite restaurant in Delaware! It's not just the food which by the way is absolutely amazing its the customer service and the people. My first time going there myself and my friend were offered samples, and when I say samples they were healthy, of almost everything on the menu. No where I have ever been to has ever done such a thing. My next visit I ordered pickup and since it was snowing I was offered pickup times to make sure the food was hot. 10 out of 10

They should add time travel to the menu cause that shrimp po boy just transported me back to NOLA. Soooo yummy!!

I've enjoyed Cajun Kate's since before they had this shop and we're only at Booths Corner. Their food is so delicious and they're always busy (for good reason). They have great portion sizes and you get value for your money. The staff is always friendly no matter which location you're at and you're treated like family whether it's your 1st visit or your hundredth. They always have specials and their everyday menu. Their food is authentic. If you've got a sweet tooth, get the bananas foster bread pudding. Sometimes I stop by just for this. My photos are corn and cheddar hush puppies, smothered collards, and slow roasted brisket and provolone po boy. They were all specials.

I threw a Mardi Gras Murder Mystery party and wanted authentic NOLA food. Don was wonderful to work with to set up a menu that would transport well. He gave instructions for heating and serving too. Everything was delicious and the oysters Rockefeller out of this world. I drove an hour each way since there is nothing around me quite like Cajun Kate’s. Prices were very reasonable, food amazing and service unbeatable. I will return for sure. Thanks so much!

Cajun Kates was phenomenal! First off, everything inside was refreshingly clean and well kept. Tom and the rest of the staff were very hospitable and friendly to my family. We tried many different items off the menu and all were deliciously memorable! We can’t wait to come back!

Went for lunch for the first time. Be aware that the restaurant is only open Wed through Sat. Came the first time only to find they were closed.

To start off, there is limited parking. We ended up parking in the neighborhood behind the establishment, which was fine.

The restaurant is small with maybe 10 tables. There was one 4 person table available when we arrived.

Upon entry, we were greated by one of the owners, Kate. She was super engaging and offered samples of the daily gumbo. Both were so good!

I ended up ordering a 1/2 Catfish Po Boy, and my friend had the Shrimp Po Boy. Both were sizable and tasty. I preferred the shrimp over the catfish. We also ordered the shrimp and sausage gumbo, which was go good. Ordered the large gumbo and split it. Coupled with the sandwich, we both left full and satisfied.

Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Have had Cajun Cate’s cater my annual Party (Mardi) Gras 🎉 the past two years and their food does not disappoint!! My guests love their food and it helps make my Party Gras 🎉 one of the most popular parties I throw!!

I order almost everything from their menu - it is all soo delicious … and a couple of my guests at my last party commented on how they had been to New Orleans and Cajun Cate’s food reminded them of what they ate there!!

Delicious food is the only positive thing this place has going for it. Their credit card machine is broken & the clerk had to input my card manually, which opens the door to credit card fraud.—Imagine that, in this day & age. I should have turned around & walked out. I believe either the owner doesn’t care or doesn’t have the capital needed to keep things operational the way they should. Bottom line? If you want to buy food here, pay cash!

Busy Lunch and the guys were hustling!!! Great greeting as I walked in . Real nice counter help. They are cooking right in front. No hiding in the back. Jambalaya yaya , red beans and rice, Crawfish Poboy, . Really great lunch and fast fdor how busy they were. Oh yes... Nawlins I'll be back.

Catfish po boy was sooo good. They let us taste five different menu items while we waited for our order. The tomato garlic parm soup was my favorite and I don’t eat tomato soup. Yummy!

The staff was so welcoming and took the time to review their most popular items. The location is clean and food was amazing. Try the gator sausage and gumbo!

The food here is excellent, the staff is very friendly and the location is easy to find. Parking could be better, the lot is really tiny, but so is the place. I had the muffuletta half sandwich ($10) and it was a full meal. Despite a very busy lunch time crowd, my food was served up fast and I noticed there was never anyone waiting for a table because the crowd would eat, then leave. Really, it was a great lunch stop.

My family recently came to have a huge get together here for several birthdays. My entire family is from New Orleans so we wanted a taste of home, so to speak. All of us were thoroughly impressed with the food. I personally had the seafood gumbo, the gator po'boy, and the cafe au lait (which my fiancee said was the best coffee she's ever had). Everything was fresh, hot, and fried right then and there. The owner also gave my family over three free orders of jambalaya and beignets which was unexpected, but very much appreciated. Most of us drove over an hour to visit here, and I will certainly make the trek again to eat here. Well done.

I went with my partner and his family, who are all from Louisiana. They said that they had better, but I thought it was pretty good.

Absolute gem of a place. The catfish was stellar and the brisket baume (a special of the day) was outrageous. Salty buttered goodness. Highly recommend!
