Food Lion

Most pleasant employees around. Store is always clean and well stocked. Keeping the lobby neater could use some work. Carts are usually in the parking lot and not in the lobby. Employees hanging outside around the corner reflects that they have passed the litered lobby and empty cart space and don't care.

Great customer service! Everyone was friendly. They helped me find something I couldn't find at other grocery stores.

Food Lion is my absolute favorite grocery store in delaware. There is no other grocery store that can compete with the prices and the sales!!! I love their shop and earn program and I love their prices and Shop and Earn program😊 I was actually there this morning and I had a wonderful experience. I earned $11.00 in Shop and Earn money!!!! Which I will spend on non food items tomorrow morning 😁

I enjoyed visiting the Food Lion prices and a large selections of thing I was looking for.

Oh I went there! Three times in 5 days! The staff - friendly The cleanliness - yup, they had that The prices - normal (a few sale items made it into my cart too!) I would/will go back, and not just because it's the closest grocery store to my home. Well, that is a huge part of it actually... proximity. I'll tell you what though I actually had nothing left to say.

Sept 2022 UPDATE! -

It's still there. So 2 days ago I waited in line for 20+ minutes(!) I'm not one of those people who just writes reviews to complain though because that's super lame. That's not my typical experience there so you know what? 5 star rating still applies. Trousers.

Feb 2023 (up)date -

Rolled up for some protein powder and Greek yogurt. They didn't have my usual brand of protein (protein!) So i got the store brand stuff. Not bad at all! In fact, it's good! 20% less expensive and it has creatine to help me get straight jacked. The lady at the checkout - super friendly/pleasant/helpful. I'll be back soon.

The Claymont Food Lion is one of the best supermarkets around.
For being a relatively small store, it is always well stocked and with adequate to overly staffed cashiers.
The employees are generally very helpful and pleasant and the pricing beats many of the other chains.
Be careful when choosing a shopping cart because some of them have ankle bracelets on them that won't let you get pushed back to your car depending on where you park.

I go to this Food Lion because it it close to home. The staff is typically pleasant. The prices are low and I can find what I need and be on my way. **Update. I still use this location. I'm increasing the rating to 5 stars because the pandemic has impacted nearly everything in our world today. There is less food in stock, less employees to stock it and less employees to run the registers. However, those things are out of their control and they still keep the store in good shape and the employees are still friendly and helpful. Great job to these workers and this location for enduring and being there for the customers.

Praises to the young lady(white female, number 0237) whom was the cashier at the Food Lion on Gov. Printz Blvd today. She was checking out a line of customers that was all the way to the back of the store. She had the most excellent customer service skills that I've witnessed in a long time. I just wish I remember her name. Hopefully management recognizes their great employee!

I went to grab a few things last night & of course the 2 lines that were open, stretched clear down the aisles to the back of the store per the usual. However, this time the line I got into moved quite quickly. To my pleasant surprise when I got to the the cashier he was extremely fast, efficient, professional and polite, His name is Zion is was sweet as pie & should be recognized for doing such an excellent job under such pressure. Thank you Zion 🤗❤

Very nice gentleman brought our groceries out to us. Superior attitude and thoughtful. We appreciate being able to pick up. Being disabled makes things harder for us. So happy with your helpfulness.

I love to shop here and have also been, recently, in a position to need cash--they handle western union customers with compassion and genuine help. I have always been struck by their "with it" and helpful ways. They know how to help you find what you need--they are quite familiar with their stock and take pride in the presentation of their displays and produce. Love them!!!

Oh, I don't know what to tell u about Food Lion, haven't shopped there in years. I usually just wait outside in the car. However, my family don't have any problems and I don't have any complaints except that every plate at the table is blessed from the food at Food Lion. 😁

Sketchy area but store is nice thanks to the management. Great prices and deals. Shop there often. Best part is ice cream 🍨 selections.

Even during pandemic times, this grocery store is staffed by all stars who are kind and patient and always willing to offer help and answer questions with a smile. Can't recommend this store enough because their customer service is off the charts and their products and pricing ain't too shabby either :-)

This Food Lion location has an overall friendly and helpful staff. The prices are great and the shelves are well stocked. The quality of meat and produce was always good on my purchases. Unfortunately for me, I don't live nearby and was able to visit several times along my route. I would recommend shopping at this location.
