Beautiful hike...wide access trail up to the lake w river and waterfalls. The loop around the lake is peaceful....caught some great lighting and fall colors. The quick side trail up to Lenny's lookout is a must.

Basically, it's fairly well traveled with a lot of people on weekends going to the beach at Silver Lake. Trail itself is wide, not too steep and takes about an hour to get to the lake.

Best advice on what to do-- ditch the beach, cross the dam and walk along the western shore of the lake to find an area to swim and hang out with a bit of privacy. There are plenty of places to do so. There is a point, however, where the trail splits and heads off to the west and over the bowl the lake is in. If you find yourself climbing, you're wrong.

We hike this trail every year and it's fantastic! Not too difficult for flatlanders or older family members. There is a compostable outhouse by silver lake which was very clean and spacious and lots of picnic tables. Excellent half day adventure!

An easy hike up the old carriage road from the trail head on VT Route 53. Several other trails connect once you reach the lake.

A beautiful place. Trail is well taken care of and marked. An easy hike, low grades and steady climb up to silver lake. I highly recommend it.

The trail has a significant elevation change but is wide and fairly easy. Fairly buggy due to the recent rains. There is a nice lake to swim in at the top. Tables for a picnic and a bathroom are also at the top.

The trails were great and plenty of places to climb to see all the falls have to offer. You must also check out Lenny's lookout further up the silver lake trail. Great views of the lake below and beyond.

This is a great trailhead. You can go right and up to Silver Lake or left and pick up the Aunt Jenny - Rattlesnake Cliffs trail loop. The cliff trail is a lot of fun, but don't head toward the falcons March - July. It's a big fine and the birds cannot be disrupted. There is no view if you don't get to the cliffs. The Silver Lake trail is super easy and the lake is beautiful. Highly recommend it.

Great hike, an uphill start from the route 53 entrance can tire a person out early, but the views are worth it

Good family hike. It can get busy, but overall quiet and a great outdoor experience. The biggest complaint is the mosquitos. Have some bug repellent on.
Also a quick cool down in the streams one of many 3 or 4 foot deep pools along the trail makes for a great hike on even hot days.

Went up Aunt Jens to the overlook and down Rattlesnake to the falls. Moderately challenging and definitely need spikes due to winter conditions. Excellent views of Dunmore and Silver lakes. Will definitely come back.

Beautiful mixed-use trail climbing about 650 feet to the picturesque Silver Lake. Mostly gravel and gives access to other trails in the area.

Great trail head. This starting point can bring you to so many destinations it's ridiculous. It's something you have to experience for yourself. Get out there and hike.
