Cottage Cafe

My husband and I went out for a date while at the beach and we stumbled on this gem! It had a great atmosphere! Richelle was our server and she was great. Friendly and attentive. She had many tables and juggled them all well! The bacon cheese fries were some of the best I’ve ever had! I had the salmon and my husband had the fried oysters… both were delicious! The bread pudding for dessert was a great ending!!

Went for lunch in between Christmas and New Year's. We were a party of four and were seated without a wait even though the restaurant was nicely busy.

We had basic non-alcoholic drinks and a lunch platter for each of us. 2 fish sandwiches, one chicken salad wrap from the daily special menu, and an oyster sandwich platter.

The sandwich plates are enough to satisfy most diners, even if you're hungry. All were very tasty with nice complimentary sides. The coleslaw is very good, and if you "dune" your fries, there is no way you're leaving hungry.

The bill was about $70 pretip. Be sure to ask about the veteran's discount (if you qualify) as they generously recognize your service.

If you want to ask for a specific server, you can't go wrong asking for Erin. The entire staff jumps in to help wherever they can.

It's a great year-round stop in a fantastic beach community with great comfort food, a great staff, a full bar, and a friendly atmosphere.

The staff was super friendly. Our waitress was very kind and helpful with questions about the menu. I ordered the vegetable lasagna, it was big enough for two meals and also very tasty. Our party of 7 all loved their meals and didn't have any complaints. Also the grapefruit crush was very good, I loved the crushed grapefruit in the drink. The restaurant looks more modern too.

The Cafe is clean and well appointed. Service was prompt and staff was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. I had the meatloaf and my wife had the pot roast. Both were hot and excellent.

Everyone enjoyed our meals after just a short wait. We had spicy shrimp scampi (not too spicy), the scallops salad, the scallop sandwich, and sangria (which was a bit too expensive at $9 for what I got). The tables were super close to each other in some areas, uncomfortably close.

The food was great! Good portions. We had appetizers, drinks, and dinner. I didn't get pictures of everything, though. We brought our two toddlers and you could tell that this is a very kid friendly restaurant. The staff was also polite and helpful. I'll definitely be recommending this restaurant to others!

Visiting OC, looking for something for dinner. Stopped here and was very, very pleased with servicr, food, price and atmosphere. Wish OC had such a fine restaurant

We had a delicious dinner here on our first night in Bethany. The crab cakes were yummy…little filler…lots of crab! The steamed broccoli was flavorful and the grapefruit crush was a refreshing treat on a hot summer day. The manager made his rounds to check on everything…nice touch!!

They fry Oysters to perfection! They are reliably perfect each time I come. Breaded perfectly, lightly fried. The Cream of Crab soup is delicious.

The mini muffins you get instead of rolls are delicious. If they had a case, I'd love to take home full sized muffins for breakfast.

Went to the Cottage Cafe for the first time. The Cafe has a good vibe, the tables have plenty of room, and the booths have good partitions. We went there on a Sunday night at 6pm.. It was a little busy, but we were seated quickly. The servers had a friendly attitude and served us efficiently. The food came out quickly and looked delicious. The mini corn muffins were also great. No complaints. I will make it back.

Their food and service is consistently Excellent.
As with all restaurants, there could be a blip here and there, but it rarely happens at the Cottage Cafe.

I challenge You to find a better Sandwich than their chicken, mushroom, bacon (freshly cooked) cheese.

Our server was very friendly and just wonderful! The atmosphere is welcoming and looks fresh and clean. We had lunch and the food was amazing. The presentation, taste and quantity was perfect.

Had lunch here today, atmosphere was great, service was outstanding, and food beyond expectation! Will definitely recommend this unique and inviting establishment. Bon appétit!

Great food, friendly service! My husband and I visit every year while on vacation, and we have never been disappointed. The dune fries are the best!

The food was good. The service was great. Michael is a wonderful server.

At this point, this is our go to spot for a reliable meal when we are in town. We enjoy happy hour with Dune Fries, but also like their sit down meals, but often order too much (which isn't a problem.)

Lisa and I really enjoyed our dinner and will most definitely return .Our server Logan ,was awesome. The food exceptional.

The food and service here are great. It was wonderful that my husband got to enjoy fresh seafood while I enjoyed a delicious salad with chicken since I don't eat seafood. There are so many enticing drinks I just randomly chose one and it was well worth the surprise (wine apple slushy). We really enjoyed the outdoor seating. The heaters are a plus for the cilly evenings. My only complaint (and a petty one) is that this was not on the beach like we expected. However, we still enjoyed our visit and got to people watch traffic and geese. Thank you for this gem!

Came here for the first time with a small group and got quick, friendly service in a nice little time capsule of a place. Erin took good care of us, the food came out quickly, and everyone was happy with their food. My burger was delicious and the dune tots were great! I'm sure I'll be back before long

My daughter and I came for a quick bite to eat. From the moment we stepped in until we were done --- we felt like royalty! I had the scallops and my daughter the battered shrimp. It was the best! My daughter even mentioned about having by far the best strawberry smoother of her life. Great job😀
