Great new place on the water. There are a variety of places to sit, indoors, on the deck or at the bar. We elected to sit at the bar given the time of year. Jesse poured some great cocktails and the food is way above average. I had the shrimp and grits that rivaled anything I had in Savannah. Wife had the Tuna Nachos with great, large chunks of tuna. Wine list is varied enough to meet a variety of tastes. We had an excellent Gruner Veltliner with dinner.
This is a family run place with homemade desserts, including a great homemade blueberry cobbler. We shall return.

We love this new place. The staff is very friendly the food is so delicious. Tuna is so buttery fresh and it is a cute design inside not to mention the view which is gorgeous.

The food here is great! I brought my best friend and our teen kids and everyone absolutely loved their meals! I had blackened salmon…so good! My friend had and I quote, “The best haddock I have ever had”! Both teens had The Ripple Burger and ate every bite! They also have The Best fries! I highly recommend and will be back! The staff was very friendly and attentive as well!

Our visit to this venue was such a fabulous experience that I have to share. First off the waiter was the best I've ever had. Secondly, and most importantly, the food was truly excellent, from our drinks, right down to their "sliced" fries (and I've never had fries like these you just have to try them to believe). Thirdly, the place is so clean, has outdoor seating overlooking the water, fresh lavatories, and to top it off the owners run the place. If you want a satisfying meal that is reasonably priced with lovely atmosphere and great service this is it...

Excellent, all around! We had a poutine special appetizer, with clam chowder. So yummy. We each had a scallop dish (mine was baked scallops and his was scallops and corn). Both excellent. Finished with a toffee pudding. Highly recommend for the food, the views, and friendly staff.

Four family members dined here last week and loved it. Food was served hot and quickly! Our clam chowder was awesome and spring roles were outstanding. My tamarind glazed salmon was perfect and the fries were unique and crispy. Each of us totally enjoyed our meal. Jasmine was a terrific server and owner Tom and all staff were extremely personable. I even got a custom created mojito (thanks Jess)! Environment was lovely on the water. Will definitely be returning! *****

Beautiful atmosphere. Amazing food. The drink menu was so well put together - the only place I’ve ever been that orang used by base-alcohol for each drink. Cocktails are unique and delicious. The owners and the staff are dedicated, attentive, and helpful. Poké bowl had the freshest tuna I’ve had in a long time. All the seafood is amazing. A must try experience!

"Can we come back here tomorrow?"

During our explorations of Salem, we decided to get out of the city to avoid a 3 hour wait for the restaurants in the immediate area. Our friend works in the area and recommended that we come up to Ripple.

I was disappointed in the fact that I wasn't able to get the advertised New England Poutine since they were out of Clam Chowder. My second option of the scallop casserole did NOT disappoint though, with the topping being very uniquely spiced and felt like the perfect fall dish. The mashed potatoes were also wonderful with the rice being an acceptable compliment ( I would probably get double mashed next time).

DO NOT go to Ripple without getting dessert. We were fully prepared not to get dessert, when we found out that the owner prepared them personally herself on a daily basis. After we heard all of the options, we got all 4 of them and shared at our table and every one of them was a hit.

Finally, we felt INCREDIBLY welcome in the restaurant, with the service staff and clientele alike making the restaurant feel like dining at home with friends and family. Being members of the LGBTQ community, often times we feel a bit on the fringe when we dine out. This felt like home.

I'll absolutely be back during my next visit to the area.

Fabulous food! Blackened chicken sandwich was amazing. My husband had the shrimp burger. Loved it. Great not your average French fries that are house made! We usually don’t have dessert but loved our meals so much we said bet the desserts are really good too. Key lime pie so yummy. The owner went to tables and introduced herself which is a welcoming touch. Totally satisfying lunch in a nice waterside setting.

Best fried clams. Both a light batter and a crunchy taste. Excellent service and a family affair. Daughter greater, wife bartender, husband chef. Algreat setting looking out over the water, and fair prices. A wonderful experience

Stopped in for appetizers before a wedding, wasn't expecting the great experience. The food was fantastic, 1/2 plate of fried clams and pig wings. Absolutely delicious. Great view, great drinks and great service. Craig and Tori were attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommend!

We stopped by chance and had the best clam roll I've ever eaten. Light, crispy clams on a crusty, flavorful roll. Service was excellent and we met the friendly owners who came out to greet us.

I enjoyed a late lunch at Ripples. I was blessed to be served by the co-owner as I sat at the bar overlooking the Essex River. There are a variety of places to sit: indoors, on the deck or at the bar. I enjoyed fried clams as an appetizer. They were wonderful - perfectly cooked and delicious.
This is a family owned/operated business featuring locally caught seafood and homemade desserts. I highly recommend!

This place is a must visit, it has it all. You can sit overlooking the water, spectacular views. The food is incredible, it is comparable to any of the big city high end restaurants. We have been there countless times pre and post COVID. We have tried everything, the menu is small but they are always changing the specials. You will not be disappointed.

Stopped in today on a whim. What a pleasant surprise! The service was the best and the food, superb. We were introduced to something new in the form of their French fries. They're something called "scoops." What a joy. The best I've ever had. The drinks were good sized, no skimping on the booze, if that that's important to you. (It is to me.)
It's a family run business (a husband and wife). We didn't get to meet the husband. He was busy in the kitchen and that's a good thing. As I said at the beginning, the food was great and the portions practically overflowed the large plate. Michelle, the wife, was a presence in the dinning room, going from table to table making sure everything was perfect for her guests. (And it was.)
Ripple on the Water is my new favorite restaurant. They have a unique and impressive menu, and I intend to sample each item in the coming months.

We went here for the first time since it was bought and changed from Periwinkles. Our experience from the time I called and made the reservation (Deanna you were just wonderful) to the end of the meal, everything was just great. We love the new decor, furnishings and atmosphere. Much brighter too! We started with the friend clams and only wish I had taken a picture before we all chowed them done! Sweet and just melted in your mouth! An interesting and loved addition was the grilled lemon half that we squirted over the clams. My sister and I will both be grilling half lemons in the future. Everyone truly enjoyed their dishes from baked haddock, scallop casserole, korean scallop dish I can't spell and the Hanger steak. We finished with the seasonal dessert which was an amazing individual round carrot cake (really feeds at least 2/3)with walnuts all around the outside. Our service was impeccable and the owner even stopped by to say hello. I highly recommend going in for a great meal and a good time!

I'm not an expert on Clam Chowder by ant means, but I know from the Chowder I've tried soo far. Thicker is better in my book. My wife and I both choose Ripple's Chowder our favorite. The waitress Linda was very helpful and very nice. The owners are good people that come out and say hello and talk. And it's on the water. 👏👍👍

What a great place to eat. The guy that served us was great. He made spot on recommendations. We had some Hawaiian beer in tap - very nice.

He recommended the Mahi Mahi fish and chips. It was off the hook, the chain, or fence, or whatever - it wasnt off on big flavor. Perfectly fried. The fries were scalloped, fried with skill, and seasoned like a pro.

My wife had shrimp and grits. I'm from the south and I've never been a fan of grits, but I am a fan of The Ripple on the Water's grits. Big flavor - it was killer! Shrimp was great.

I usually dont eat dessert, but they are homemade. I had Key Lime pie - it was legit and my wife had blue berry cobbler - again not one of my favorite things to eat - but I didn't want to stop eating this one. It was delicious.

The owner so cool, the Restaurant was nice and with a nice water view. Will be back!

The haddock sandwich was so crispy there was no conversation possible over the delightful crunch. The farro salad was delicious. Plus the waitress was excellent, attentive, and well-versed on the menu.

This new addition to the Essex restaurant choices is at the moment an undiscovered gem, as it is set near the bridge construction, soon to be completed. Wonderfully prepared and palate pleasing choices. Best clams in Essex County! Take advantage of the deck when weather permits!
