Cala's

I had Cala's fried Calamari and Chicken wings here. The Calamari was overwhelming and a delight to the tastebuds. It's a perfect appetizer and the squids were crispy. The wings, although tasted nice, were average as they were on the harder side. Took me some effort to chew them. The atmosphere was fantastic and lively. Service was professional. Overall a satisfying experience. Thanks.

Loved it! The food is phenomenal! The fish stew is a must try! The best I ever had! Same for lobster roll!

My friend and I stopped in after working an event. It was our first time there, the service and the food were fantastic. Very satisfied with everything and glad to add a new restaurant to stops nearby when working in that area. 💗

Stopped by for a quick lunch back in October '23. The staff (especially the head bartender) were on top of everything. Very fast and friendly service and great food and drinks. Definitely a must-do if you ever visit this town.

First of all, the restaurant has a cozy very lovely environment. The place has a warm feeling, it's very clean and it just feels like home.

The service was great. Hannah was the nicest lady we met on our trip to Massachusetts. She was very servicios, very attentive, she knew her way around the menu and made really good recommendations regarding our likes and cravings.

The food was just perfect. More than what we really hoped for, more than what we expected; it really blew us away. The meatloaf with broccolini and mashed potatoes was outstanding. The wings, the yucas, even the wine selection was great.

An amazing place, a hidden gem in Manchester-by-the-sea, a definite place to return to; we will surely be back.

Amazing food and awesome staff! Was not expecting the size of bowl for the Mac n cheese but it was wonderful!

The bartender Scottie was very attentive and personal. He recommended the Cuban sandwich and he was right as the sandwich had a nice toasted crunch and great flavor. The sweet potato fries were also crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside.

If you are looking for a quality meal or to just grab a drink then you really should check this place out.

Stopped at Calas just before heading back to Boston and I honestly think this was one of the best Clam chowders I've had in my life. Great service as well!

Stopped at Cala’s on our way back into Boston - a great find! Folks were super friendly and the food was tasty, very quiet on a Saturday afternoon but perfect for what we needed. Easy to find parking nearby.

Food and waitress was very good. Clam Chowder was creamy and tasty. We had burgers and fries and both were well cooked. I posted this review a week ago and was upset that I thought I was charged $3 for a glass of water with my meal. Upon a closer look at my ticket, It was simply the tea listed again at the bottom of the ticket as a total for food then a total for the beverages. My apologies to Cala's for my error and original bad info. I have revised my review to reflect our experience at this wonderful dining establishment. Great decor, pleasant waitress, fantastic fresh cut fries, and overall everything I saw served looked great. I live a couple of thousand miles from this place, but would highly recommend Cala's if you are in the area. Pleasant diversion from the hustle of Salem.

Had calamari and yucca fries appetizers, which were amazing. Followed that with really delicious blackened fish tacos. Would definitely go back and eat here again.

Great food and great location at Manchester by the sea. We went there after watching the movie and the place is surprisingly cheerful and not depressing (of course). Recommend the chicken wings with Honey Habanero sauce, which is indeed very spicy however definitely worth the “suffering”! Ear dropped next table and heard that tacos (fish or Tuna) are the highlights.

Great Blackened Salmon BLT. My wife enjoyed her Fried Haddock sandwich. I wanted to share a desert with her but she declined. Outside sitting was needed but my photograph would have been more inviting if one saw the front. Cala's was recommended by a great 100 year old lady in the Magnolia part of Glouster. We were not disappointments.

If you like a very good burger, look no further. Their sweet fries are to die for! I love this place, and I can't wait to be back. I also had the pleasure to be served by Amelia. What a treat!

Yummy tacos, tasty steak tips, and really good sweet potato fries, not to mention the brownie sundae atop toasted marshmallow sauce!

The food was excellent. Will definitely stop back for our anniversary next year.

Great service, delicious food, fresh baked goodies, smoothies and lattes, in a bright cozy atmosphere.

Stopped in on a whim. I couldn't have been better treated if I had gone to my mother's house. Jen, the manager/bartender was sensational. They were more than busy and she did not miss a beat. Personalized service, a smile, in spite of being busy, and concern that everything was to our liking.
The drinks are well proportioned, the food was wonderful and prepared to perfection. And no problem with the price.
As a side note: The waiter, Alex, had no problem when we picked up and moved to another table not in his section. He beamed a 1,000 watt smile and said, "Whatever you wish is fine with me."
I wish I lived closer and could go there more often.

We loved it! Distanced outdoor seating was great and felt safe. Great location near the harbor, shops and cafes. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. It was hard to choose something because I thought the menu was pretty interesting, not the same dishes you find at every other place. I definitely recommend their French Onion Soup which was delicious and I really enjoyed the lemon chicken pappardelle as well.
