STEAM noodle cafe

Top notch tom yum noodle soup and pho. We drove in from Northampton cause we’re tired of the restaurants here. Steam was excellent. We also had the summer rolls and they were the best we’ve had outside of New York or Boston.

The service was fantastic and we have leftovers for dinner too!

Another gem in Great Barrington, fantastic ramen(spicy tonkustu) and steamed buns (Pork) the waitstaff and owner were very friendly and the space was welcoming.

Really good casual pan-asian place right in downtown GB. Been meaning to go here for ages and finally went for dinner tonight. Pork buns - very good. Sticky rice - very good (note this is listed as stick rice dumpling, but it's not really dumplings, still good). Kimchi Ramen with Pork - ok; I felt this could have been a bit more flavorful and the pork was so-so. My wife really liked it though. Service was very friendly and attentive. Prices are pretty good for a nice, cheap meal. I'll definitely be back.

The food was amazing. Great presentation when served. Drinks are beautiful and refreshing. They were very busy during our visit but that didn’t hinder the service.Very nice friendly hostesses and a clean relaxing atmosphere. Remember that everywhere you go to eat post Covid, are dealing with being understaffed and are doing the best that they can. Be nice, be considerate and please tip well.

Insanely good cooking. Super high quality ingredients. Offering a variety of Asian noodle dishes from different areas. We had the Khao Soi and Spicy Beef Szechuan Noodles and they were some of the best examples of these dishes that we've ever had.

Tried the Tom Yum and curry puffs and both were great. Not sure about some other reviews but overall the food has game and is orders of magnitude better than most other pan Asian spots in GB.

Such a delightful place! Gyoza, curry puff, egg yolk steamed buns for dessert! We are so lucky to have Steam in the Berkshires!

I had high expectations for this place and they met and exceeded every expectation that I had. Going in it is a little small so there isn't much space to eat inside the actual cafe but there are plenty of other places to eat that area still inside the plaza. The food, oh my goodness the food. I ordered a pork bun and the Miso Ramen and I was so full, my food was ready within 10 minutes which was also amazing. The people working at the cafe were friendly and helpful which I also appreciated. I would highly recommend this place if you want to eat somewhere that has great ramen.

Had the tonkatsu ramen! Buttery and salty and so good. FAST service perfect for lunch!

I’ve been coming to this little gem in Great Barrington for years. I can tell you it’s absolutely the best!

They moved to a new location on Main Street which has more tables, a bar (!) an expanded menu.

Awesome food, atmosphere, and service!

Started with the summer roll, then duck w/ rice and crepes (2 different dishes) . Flavors were out of this world, service was impeccable. Everything was top notch. Would highly recommend 10/10.

My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic dinner here. The decor and aesthetic of the restaurant is lovely, prices are reasonable, the service friendly and attentive, and the food- unbelievably good. We had the steamed buns (fantastic), the vegan gyoza (some of the best we have ever had), and the Tonkotsu ramen with seasoned egg and crispy ramen noodles. This ramen is just incredible! The plating was beautiful, the ingredients fresh and vibrant, and the seasoning was perfect. It wasn’t too salty or fatty- it was all flavorful and felt light. We loved it so much we took a bowl to go for lunch the next day. I can’t recommend this place enough! We will definitely be coming back with friends the next time we visit Great Barrington.

Consistently excellent food and good service. We are at STEAM at least twice a month!

I have been a fan of this place since its inception and have basically stuck to my favorites: the crepe, the dumplings, spicy tonkostu & spicy beef soup. today deviated from the norm and went with the chicken banh mi and it was excellent. Lucky to have authentic (with a chefs personal twist) south eastern Asian food in a rural town.

This place is perfection at its best!

It has been a little more than a year since I stepped into the wonderful world of Steamed Noodle, and I am still completely enamored by the taste and smell of the broth and the lovely texture of the noodles. I just can’t get enough of it!

The service is impeccable and the food is wonderful… What more can you ask for?

To be honest, I would include a picture — but every time I think of taking one the bowl is already empty. Happens all the time…

Gem and her Steam team have been offering unique and flavorful dishes for several years now. Innovative and healthy takes on East Asian favorites. The khao soi gai is a personal favorite. Our kids love the steam buns.
