I have bought many times from Sheffield, and I can’t sing their praises enough. Their clay is awesome - I particularly love Liz’s light mix. Their customer service is out of this world. Sheffield is a family run business, so I love supporting them and their service makes it just that much better. Great selection and great prices. If you need help finding something, give them a call!

We buy some of our larger equipment here. Good prices, sales are awesome. Even had free shipping!

I like the clear ordering instructions telling me that supply-chain issues can result in separate shipments and additional shipping charges incurred, but I have the option of waiting for all items to be fulfilled, then shipped without additional charges. All my orders were good quality, received in a timely manner, and their customer service staff are great. And they offer free shipping to Hawaii!

I love Sheffield Pottery and the people who work there. The other day I received notice that my glazes were shipped. The problem is I realized the place I asked to have it shipped was not my home, but to a friend clear across the country! Obviously, a careless error on my part!

I emailed Sheffield even though it was still only 6 AM and their store did not open until 8:30 AM. I was totally freaked out knowing that once some thing is shipped, it would be pretty difficult if not impossible to get it rerouted.

At 8:30 I called their store and while I was being helped, I realized I had already received a return email from my 6 o’clock request for help.

The problem was already taken care of by an employee, Jen R., who obviously is the kind of employee every company would love to have.

Jen must have been to work either early or right on time to catch my cry for help, call the warehouse, find out that it had not yet shipped, and had the delivery address corrected! What a go-getter! She made my day!

I love Sheffield Pottery and their free shipping on so many items, but knowing the kind of work ethic and their concern for a customer care will make me think of them first, before I check any other Pottery store!

Had problems with truck and couldn't get unloaded on Friday so they was will to unload on Saturday with a small window to deliver they was willing to work with me on my delivery.

I recently placed an order online and received an email stating that I selected pick up. Jennifer caught this error which would have been quite a hardship since I live in Florida and the pickup location was Massachusetts …a long drive. LOL. Customer service has always been great. I belong to a pottery club where I reside which has 45 members and Many members have ordered from Sheffield and are highly satisfied. 5 stars!!!

Dealing with these people was extremely delightful… They took the time to help me order a wheel, (had some trouble with my card being denied) Sheffield Team was able to fix the problem and the wheel delivered so quick… Couldn’t be happier with the service and care. Thank you guys so much. Can’t wait for the wife to open!!

I was nervous to order a pottery wheel from this website after I saw several reviews complaining of back orders and super slow shipping, I actually panicked a little and tried to cancel my order. After the order wouldn’t cancel I just hoped it wouldn’t take weeks or even months because I needed it quickly. I ordered it Sunday and it’s Tuesday and it’s sitting at my doorstep! Got the Shimpo lite for $780 in a day and a half! Incredible!!!!

If I could give more stars I would! I bought a wheel from The Ceramic Shop but when I found out it would be TWO months to ship I cancelled the order. I used a $100 Visa gift card toward my order that wasn't refunded right away- so I called frustrated and they told me the owner himself said, "It's not our fault she used a Visa gift card."
I called Sheffield Pottery and spoke to 3 different people who were are SO incredibly kind and friendly. And by friendly I mean, I wish I lived closer cause I wanted to be their friends! Incredibly helpful. I just ordered a Kiln from them and spoke to Joe for 30 minutes, he was also super kind and really helpful. Truly all good experiences with this company!!!

I have not had anything like the negative issues described here. I have been buying from Sheffield for over 2 years now through their online store. I purchased a Brent wheel (which they agreed to price match against a competitor) then many, many commercial glazes and tools since their prices with free shipping are the best. I live one state over and my orders always arrive within 2-3 days. In my first glaze order they accidentally sent one wrong bottle. They had no problem sending the correct one and had me keep the accidental one as well (not worth the shipping, I guess). I have called them with questions several times and have not had problems with them. They were always polite and very helpful. I am in the market for a kiln and plan to buy it from them based on my past experiences.

We are in the middle of putting together a DIY raku kiln, necessitating multiple orders from multiple companies, all within roughly the same driving distance from our location. We placed our order with Sheffield three days after our other orders, and our items from Sheffield were the first to arrive. The website gives really clear options to help get shipping right for your needs whether you want something specific or just want default options. They were quick and friendly with the emails to confirm my shipping request. This is my first order with Sheffield and we are so impressed! Looking forward to our next order. Highly recommended!

I don't usually leave reviews, but I must say that I am so thankful to have found this site. I live in Hawai'i and it is so difficult to get large/ heavy things shipped here without spending over +$100, but Sheffield has free shipping here for a lot of things on their site, even 50lb Clay. Because of this I am able to practice my hobby and not spend a fortune.

These are the nicest people! Their prices are great and a lot of their tools and glazes ship free. They've quickly responded to any issue that I've had. Even though I'm in Alabama, I will continue to buy from Sheffield in Massachusetts!

Fantastic Company and amazing customer service! Even during Covid, I've never waited more than a week for my orders to ship. In fact, they "rushed" an order when i realized i was out of new clay for a class. LOVE the glaze & tool discounts too! I've never had a problem with any of the clays from Sheffield.

I have used Sheffield as my primary supplier for over 25 years. They have supplied me with 10’s of tons of clay over that time period and they have consistently provided me with quality clay that I can depend on for my business.

I also purchase a wide variety of glaze chemicals. They keep a large quantity of raw materials in stock so they are rarely out of stock and I appreciate that.

Given the wide variety of small tools and equipment they carry, along with the variety of larger equipment they offer, they truly offer one stop shopping.

They are good people as well. They have always been responsive to my needs.

As a former Massachusetts resident, I came to know Sheffield Pottery for their large variety of supplies and professional atmosphere. I now live across the country and still choose them for most of my equipment needs. I bought a wheel from them this year, and have been very happy with the process and support. Free shipping is absolutely great. I ended up saving hundreds of dollars on the cost of the wheel than had I bought it at the local pottery shop (sorry, not sorry!). Sheffield Pottery will continue to have my business for a long time to come. To me, they're the home town pottery shop.
