I've been there twice and the place is awesome. Great atmosphere and very laid back. Doug has cut my hair a couple times now and he always gives me an awesome cut, really the best I've ever had. And I always get tons of compliments on my hair after seeing him. He has great attention to detail, and always takes the time to get it just right. Plus he's a really cool, humble guy, always has something interesting to say, and has a good outlook on life. Even as an introverted guy that honestly doesn't like to talk to people much, I've always enjoyed my conversations with him. If you go there, I highly recommend Doug.

This was my first visit to any barber shop ever since I have been bald for over 40 years and just shave in the shower. But I decided to grow a beard for the first time in my life and see if I would like it? That being said, I was a bit hesitant to go but my daughters said I needed to get “lined up” whatever that means, after letting my beard grow wild. I checked the reviews of Bourbon City Barbershop because I work just down the street and thought I can just swing by one day after work. I decided to set up an appointment on line with Doug. The process to set up the appointment was simple even for someone like myself who doesn’t have good computer skills. It was a good decision as the shop, the environment and the guys who run the shop did not disappoint. Doug made me feel comfortable and at ease. We shared great conversation and he is very good at what he does. You can tell when someone’s enjoys their work by the quality of workmanship and even though this was my first time going the workmanship was excellent. I don’t need some Hollywood style beard with trimmings, lines, airbrush artwork and so on but just a nice, clean cut which is what I got. I enjoyed the experience and I recommend Bourbon City Barber shop to anyone who wants to experience a wonderful experience. The shop is eclectic with some local artwork, has several seating arrangements for waiting that are comfortable as well as relaxing. Overall I enjoyed my visit and it won’t be the last.

Being a small business owner and operator making time for yourself can be difficult. However, when I set an hour aside to have Doug give me a haircut and a beard trim I know I am treating myself to a relaxing and skilled experience. Doug uses top quality tools and products leaving you looking and feeling great. Seeing other folks leaving the shop you get to see the handy work of the other barbers and I am sure you're in good hands with anyone of them. Doug just happens to be the best in my opinion!

Been coming here for the last few months, and letting Doug cut my hair since relocating back to Louisville. Great atmosphere and great staff. Doug does a great job, and has attention to detail, and the most important part is he is down to earth and easy to have a conversation with. Not taking anything away from the rest staff, just have had more interaction with Doug more.

What a phenomenal place for those that live in Louisville. I was here for work and was in need of a freshen up. Doug took such great care of me. The cut and beard trim was next level. The conversation was even better, I felt like I’d known Doug my whole life.

Best barbershop around.. great atmosphere everyone that works there are really good at what they do and extremely nice guys ..I get been getting cuts from Doug Hammond for about 5 months and the best cut I every had I will not be ever going to any other shop for a cut ever.!!. if you haven't got a cut there I highly recommend it ..!!!

Very nice barber with a welcoming feel. I have 3 barbers now there as I just take first one available. All 3 were great and gave an excellent haircut (fade) which is not a cut any barber can do. I would definitely recommend this barbershop to anyone!

Great atmosphere. Friendly service. Great cut, and my barber Nick listened to my request and delivered exactly what I requested. I will be back. Great location of shop allowed me to grab some lunch right after which is conveneint when using my lunch break to get my haircut.

Best haircut I have ever received. These guys are true masters of cutting hair and trimming your beard and you can see it in their work. They are slick. Service is fast, never have to wait. They take walk ins. You will not regret coming here. 10/10
