Sensations Salon and Day Spa is awesome! I love the place! The ladies are friendly and fun to be around and I have never walked away unsatisfied by whatever product/service I have had from them. I have been a customer for many years and have always found the place clean and hip. Cathy is an awesome stylist and I just love the cut she gave me today just from one picture I showed her. Missy is funny and very talented with her massages - makes you melt into yourself and leaves you relaxed and ready for anything. I would recommend them to anyone!

Came here with my daughter to get her hair cut and colored. Sharon, the stylist, did exactly what my daughter wanted in terms of color, but my kid didn't like it and started crying (she's 12). Sharon was very calm and reassuring and explained that she would be happy to change it. Poor Sharon was with my kid from 330 to 8pm.

While I waited I asked if anyone could cut my hair, and Matt said he could squeeze me in and did an excellent job on my hair. Just as he was finishing my hair, another client of his walked in and waited briefly while he finished my cut and I realized he really had squeezed me in. When Sharon finished my daughter's hair, my kid still didn't like it, but I thought it looked amazing. Sharon explained that the color will change a bit after a few washes. When we got home my kid went to her room for 20 minutes then walked out and said she loved it! She said she was just shocked at first by the difference.

I have to say we really pushed this salon to the breaking point and they truly came through for us both. I am really grateful for the top notch service and above and beyond hospitality. Sharon handled my kid with all the patience and kindness one could ever hope for.

Really great salon. Shan Kokas has been doing my hair for years now and I couldn't imagine going to anyone else. She keeps track of all my crazy hair colors, which ones that worked well for me and the ones that I didn't love. She is very thoughtful, always checking in on how I am doing in the process and is very easy to talk to. The environment is always clean and the other stylists there have always been very pleasant. Highly recommend!

Ask for Helen! She's a gem, I wish I could give her more than five stars! She's a great Esthetician, who really cares about her clients. Very knowledgeable, skilled and kind. I have to admit I don't always take the best care of my skin, but you would never know it after a visit. My face glows. Helen always takes the time to explain the products she's using on your face and why. She listens to your concerns and helps you learn the best way to manage them. I've had numerous treatments from her ranging from facials, brow tinting, waxing and my new obsession eyelash extensions! I was a little nervous at first but Helen was so patient, has a light touch and explained everything. I am seriously obsessed with my lashes. They are really full and long, but look super natural at the same time. Highly recommend!

I have to give props and big shout out to Cathy Nuss. Several weeks ago while visiting my daughter from Florida, I got the urge to get a haircut on a Saturday afternoon (I know, who does that??) After riding up and down B'town Rd. randomly calling the many salons, I asked my daughter to "Stop the car!" when we drove by Sensations.

Cathy was the 1st person I saw, and I asked if I could get a haircut - it was 3:00 in the afternoon!! Cathy said, "sure, not a problem" and sat me in her chair. I.Lucked.Out!

Hands down, the BEST haircut I've had in a long time. I took a huge chance. I have yet to find anyone as good as Cathy in many years. I moved to Florida 8 years ago, and I fly back to Louisville often to visit my daughter and her family. I hope to have Cathy as my hairstylist for life, but I will schedule all future appointments. Thank you, Cathy!!

This is a truly great place to get your beauty on and enjoy the charm of the Highlands! I am a long time customer and Missy provides unbelievable services. She is super attentive and always listens before she recommends a cut or color etc. Her massages are also off the charts. Go check it out for yourself!

I was in town at an AirBNB on Bardstown for a wedding. I called Missy (the owner) and she worked me in last minute. I mean LAST freaking minute. I just needed a wash and a simple braid. Matt washed and dried my hair and Missy did the braid. I was out in 40 minutes! What a wonderful and hospitable group is people! Everyone was so chill and kind! You should definitely choose this as your local salon :)

Shan Sanders Kokas has been doing my hair for over fifteen years. Which means we've been through a lot of colors and styles (including my wedding). Her concern for the health of my hair is unlike any other stylist I've ever met. She is a cool and calming pro.

I visit this salon and get great service from Shan. She does amazing color and cuts. Everyone in the salon is friendly and it's a great laid back atmosphere. I always look forward to going. When it's time for the kids to get a cut we take them as well.

I have trusted Cathy with my hair for YEARS, and Helen for my face for several years. I have been more than pleased, each time. They are all very talented and listen to each client.

Sensations Salon & Day Spa is probably the best kept secret in the Highlands, although it should also be well known outside of the area. Unlike other advertised spas, this is a wonderful experience, with much more personal & caring attention. Missy gives a massage that you will never forget & in such a relaxing atmosphere, you really don't want it to end, but you will come back quite often. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

You know that brief moment when you finally hit the sweet spot when chewing a gumball from a machine, magical unicorns in your mouth experience. That is the experience you will have at Sensations, the moment you walk out of the doors of Sensations and the wind hits you like something out of a L'oreal hair commercial, it's as if someone is throwing rose petals in front of the ground you walk on. I get my locks colored and beautified by Shan, she is amazing. I would rate her quality 100 stars if google would let me.

Wendy does my dreadlock maintenance work. She is fantastic and always great to talk to! She can do natural or synthetic dreads and does amazing things with color

Shan is great! She really paid attention to the picture I brought in and gave me precisely what I asked for. I have thick hair that can be a bit unmanageable and am often just told 'your hair isn't going to look like that.' She did a great job of thinning so my style can get more volume and texture.

Shan has been cutting and coloring my hair for a very long time. She always listens, gives great advice, and makes me beautiful! Thanks for many years of hair love, Shan!
