Excellent meat department! Huge meat case, you pick the cut(s) you want. New and improved fresh cold deli case. Roasted chicken salad made with actual chunks of chicken - not mushy! Also lots of grab and go items to heat up like mini tacos and mac and cheese. Huge salad bar. Made to order sandwiches, Rotisserie chickens, brand new growler station and new Bloody Mary's! You can drink while you shop - what?! Friday fish fry, dine in or carry out. Haven't tried yet, but plan to. Newly remodeled area to eat all this delicious food in. You like wine? This place has LOTS of it, along with a decent selection of hard liquor. While you can do "regular" grocery shopping here, the grocery selection on the floor isn't as big as a larger grocery store. To me though, the strong suit of this store is all the fresh food, meats and eat-in selectuons. I've gotten fresh, hot roast beef from a carving station on a Saturday afternoon that was divine - nobody else has that. Love, love this store.

Best meat market in a wide area, excellent selection of bakery items, liquor, beer, and fantastic sandwiches and hot dishes from the deli. Awesome salad and nacho bar, too. Amazing selection of cheeses, gift items, coffee, tea, and gourmet foods.

Independent grocery store with a great selection of cheese, beer, wine, spirits, and produce. Everything else you'd expect as well. A bit upscale. The staff are very friendly!

Went here to pick up lunch meat because of the Boars Head lunch meat. I was in from out of town and they had everything I needed. Turkey and Ham. I had a sandwich made also at the counter and the lady was friendly. Store was clean and they had a lot of great items. I would definitely stop here again if I was ever in town. Highly recommend stopping in. It was definitely worth it

Love the great selection of foods and liquor. We love going there because we always discover something new. The bakery makes amazing cakes and donuts. We love to order our cakes from them. Their hot food case always has a great selection. Their wraps and sandwiches are so delicious. And finally, the associates are always so friendly and welcoming. We love our experience everytime we go.

Nice place to grab some different food options, fresh seafood as well as a great sandwich and beer.

We used Gooseberries Courtyard Catering for our wedding. The guests are still raving about the food!!! They were wonderful to work with! On the day of the event they checked in with us several times. I was very impressed. We had a beef, chicken and vegetarian option. Each one was amazing and delicious! Thank you for making our day so special!!!

Well thank you Gooseberries that was a good run! Wishing all the previous employees and owners the best. Unfortunately the new owners are all about cutting quality just to make their margins. Sorry Berkots super foods but it’s pretty easy to see what’s going on. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I only get my meat from here now. Everything is so fresh and everyone at the meat counter is ready and eager to help you. I also like getting there pre made meals after a long day at work. Haven't had something I didn't like yet.

They also have an outstanding amount of wine to look through. Im not much of a wine drinker but I'm still impressed by the variety there

Awesome grocery store with a large, local (where possible), and quality selection of produce. The butcher shop is very impressive as well. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not a discount store, but the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the store as a whole. Will definitely be doing more of our grocery shopping here.

Great specialty store with a decent selection of quality items. The deli in particular is really good, and the premade sandwiches are a great deal.

I had an earlier review which was less favorable; their prices for many grocery items are still high and their hours are actually even more limited than before, but it just is what it is, I guess.

I also applaud them for their covid response; during the start/height of the pandemic I feel like it was the safest places to shop in Burlington. Other stores in the area were not as organized or watchful.

Bought some freshly made brats....lots of varieties to choose from. Also bought the freshly baked brat buns. The deli had a great selection of salads and other goodies. Store is very clean and employees are very helpful.

Gooseberries catered my wedding and the food was delicious. From the tasting to the quality of food, you should absolutely consider them for your catering needs. They also acted as our florist, and Kathy was extremely professional and helped us so much throughout the process.

Love Gooseberries!! You can drink a beer and shop! Their deli area is something unlike any other store. The cibatatta rolls are a favorite liking of his. Warm homemade kettle chips or fries to make a meal! They have quiet the array different sandwiches, you can even customize your own or add your own touches to one on the menu. You can take it to go, or sit and enjoy right there in the store. Boars Head meats and cheese. Don't knock it until you try it!

Love a lot of things about this place. Only one negative, and that is that the prices seem to run a little high on most regular grocery items--but that's what you're going to get with any grocer not named Wal-Mart. First, they did the catering for our wedding and it was tremendous. Second, their meat selection is prime and it's always fresh. Extensive selection of beer and wine. Friendly people. New sandwich counter comes with a few beers on tap so you can grab a meal and hang out/watch the Brewers/Packers game.

These people do it right ... or they make it right! It is a very clean store and I trust their meat and produce departments without question. Bakery is excellent with delicious homemade breads and buns. You can also custom order cakes, etc. There's a large selection of gourmet wine, beer and cheese. The deli has a huge selection of pasta salads, etc. There's a salad bar and a hot deli section with a breakfast menu in the a.m and then it switches to a lunch/dinner menu. There are table and chairs set up in a cafe type setting for eating in. They have a wide selection of fresh meats at the meat counter. They have large produce section with organic produce. They have fresh seafood/fish section. They do have groceries but the selection is not as large, as say, Pick 'n Save but there is always something. They are the "go to" store in Burlington for Holiday meats, trays and bakery. Very customer friendly.

We recently had our wedding (06/26/2021) and we booked Gooseberries to do our cupcakes and small cake.
We ordered 200 cupcakes and a small 6" cake and they were incredible! They made my cake just like the reference picture I had sent them!
Super quick response time when e-mailing back and forth, and very helpful when needed! I would 10/10 recommend you buying/using Gooseberries!

We had a cocktail party/ surprise wedding,and goose berries catering team kept the surprise a surprise and the service was amazing!!!! The food was fantastic, the brisket was soooo tender, the mashed potatoes were great too!!! We also used their bakery for cupcakes,mini pies and cheese cake, and the wedding cake!!! Everything tasted great!!!!!!! Their crew came in set everything up from cupcakes to the brisket and appetizers, and made sure everyone got anything they wanted!!!! They are an amazing team!!!!

Gooseberries is a great place to shop. Yes the selection is smaller than Walmart and the prices are a bit higher but your getting quality products. The fresh meat is fantastic and the only place I will buy meat from. The staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. They also have a fish fry in store and drive thru options that tastes amazing and delicious. This is a great store!
