Great scenery, BUT directions from Google maps leads you to a dead-end. So don't make that initial right turn, keep going straight then make a right turn drive another 1 mile and you'll find the designated parking area. Be mindful you will now have to walk back a mile to enter the trail safely around the huge ponds. You are very welcome! You will definitely enjoy all the kind folks and the beautiful nature. We walked 10 miles...

Sledding at Scheiffer park is great! Nice big, wide hill, a bit sheltered from the wind, and only a short walk from a parking lot on Huntington. There is a small lending shed for sleds. The parking lot is not always plowed but you can park on the street. The people we have run into there are very kind. We will be back!

This is a really neat place for hiking. Tons of winding trails and a few good hills to. Very well hidden and preserved for how close to houses it is.

This is a great little neighborhood park with several miles worth of hiking and snowshoe trails. There is a snow sledding hill hidden on the north side of the park. The squeaky old windmill is neat to find. Listen for it on the southern side of the park. There is now a parking lot on the northeast side of the park off Huntington Ave. You can walk right to the sledding hill from the parking lot. No facilities here.

This is a beautiful place to hike, especially in the fall! The sledding hill is amazing in the winter

To clarify the 1-star review, the best place to park is on the northbound lane of wright road (the westernmost side of the park from the aerial view.) The empty space on the right of the bike lane is a legal parking space. A trail that leads to the main loop is located past the sidewalk, with a small sign. This is a public park with little signage as it was donated to the city under terms limiting its development. It is a nice forest that highlights a unique terminal morraine, or more plainly, a ridge from where the glacier stopped. The trail system is maintained by users who volunteer their own time to help keep trails clear. Great for hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, or nature watching.

I almost don't want to rate this park because it seems like such a secret gem in the middle of a neighborhood. Lots of wide trails and single-tracks as well. Stunningly beautiful.

Lived in the neighborhood for 18 years and just discovered this gem. The Ice Age Trail now runs right by it. Fun to take the grass trails and look at the birds and rabbits.

I'm gone for two months and the locals get it through their head to build a road. Soon pedestrians will plague the woods with their presence, and their is nothing that can be done to stop it. Resignation is all that is left.

Nice, paved path through a wooded area. There are some trails off the pavement that could be fun.

Beautiful walking path. Asphalt path so mud is not an issue.
