The Main Event

Amazing details of old world craftsmanship all over the bar. Gorgeous paneling on walls and ceiling. Beautiful stained glass light fixtures. Delicious food. My husband and I enjoyed the burgers. Upgraded to the fries and tots. We will definitely be back!

I have to say, John's Main Event was a very pleasant experience! It's nice that this covid thing seems to be under control, and being vaccinated not having to wear a mask!

I had the burger and a side salad, my wife had the Patty melt! The bartender which was amazing, whipped everything up quickly. I wish I asked her name. 4 genuine drafts and a Pepsi and the House special hard lemonade mix, was fantastic. Atmosphere very enjoyable, no idiots hanging around even though the bar was full.

I've done plenty of security work at different clubs over the years, and it brought back some good memories! A very pleasant and must stop location for anyone not from the area! Friends moved to Burlington, and our first impression of Burlington was extremely positive, and that's due to John's Main Event and the bartender that was there that day!

Corner/local bar feel. Bartenders are awesome! Good bar food...(will update when I've sampled current menu). Been coming here for 30 years...love it

Beer garden is prime. Nick cooks like a real champ. Nick is a bartender to the stars. (There are 2 nicks.) Long story short. Great joint, locally owned. Great after a wedding or whatever brought you to Burlington. Check it out!

Very nice outdoor bar, went on a nice day, very reasonable prices. Under new ownership this year. Haven't tried their menu yet. Very nice outside patio. A good crowd inside, friendly home town atmosphere.

Can't say enough good things about the food here!! The soups, burgers, wraps, the cowboy corn nuggets with siarcha aoli sauce. I would go so far as to say best food around. The staff is amazing, starting with owner Ryan, the cooks, the bartenders, Amanda, and Katie are my favorites, no offense to the others. Keep it up all of you!

Just went to John's Main Event for the first time. Perfection! Best Patty Melt I've ever had...(requested American Cheese instead of swiss.) Not only that, they made scrambled eggs as a special request for our handicapped daughter. Everything was delicious...even the ice tea!! Absolutely SUPERB customer service! Wow! Will definitely come back. My new favorite Burlington Restaurant.

Stopped in with my fiance to grab a quick bite. Quiet night but the right size crowd for us. Food prices were very fair and the burgers and fries were great. The bartender and the cook were friendly and quick with beers and food. Thanks for a great evening!

Stopped in for appetizers and a beer. Staff was very eager to suggest alternatives for items that were not available at that time.
Had the fried shrimp appetizer along with deep fried mushrooms. Food was very good.

My earlier review was cutoff before I could finish my sentence. However, the food is great. Really laid back atmosphere. Employees and costumers seem to have a real close family vibe.

From this tiny grill behind the bar they make all the food. The area is like walk in closet small. You may think how could food created in this old bar be any good? Well it is! I had the fish fry, nicely done, very traditional Wisconsin fish fry. Decent slaw. Guests at the table had burgers and wraps, all happy no complaints. No high pressure to order more drinks, pretty chill place, if you are looking to reconnect with old friends and like the comfortable bar atmosphere - this is your place. Very reasonably priced.

Great selection of burgers. Their chicken sandwiches are really good, too. Had a nice selection of beers to choose from. Very friendly people. Have to go back soon.....

Very good food! Between us we had a burger, chicken wrap, cheddar fries and nuggets. Everything was great! The chicken in the wrap was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We'll be going back!

We LOVE going to John's Main Event. Great vibes with amazing food and friendly people. It has become one of our go-to places in Burlington. Highly recommend if you are going for a drink or dinner!
