We went in on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The bartender, Sam I think, was super helpful in recommending whiskeys to try...and there were many! They even have whiskey flights! I'm sure it gets very crowded when the university is in session but there is a lot of space. Food from connected Pat's was good as well.

Great selection of beers and whiskey and cocktails! Friendly staff!! Excited to come back!!

I was in Newark for work, decided to stop by this place and check it out since it was close by. I liked the blue hen drink and a red drink that's a variation of a Shirley temple. It happens to be karaoke night Friday and everyone was hyping up the singers. I did a song or two myself. I enjoyed myself!

A local staple for years! Whether you are looking to relax on the deck with a drink on a beautiful afternoon, watching a game with your friends or just grab a bite to eat, Barley doesn't disappoint! As a major plus, veteran mixologist and all around star-bartender Mario tends bar regularly and keeps his customers happy no matter the time of the day 🍻👌🏼. Definitely a must stop if you are in Newark, DE.

I can't give high marks for the craft beer selection, but it's clean, they have a happy hour from 5p-8p, and their trivia and other nights are always fun. Bartenders have been friendly and helpful.

So...like this is my " go to place " ..... the neighborhood joint... come alive...burst at the seams....join in....don't wait...!!!
