From start to finish, I loved the staff, the service, and my hair after. Lilly did a great job explaining the hair color process that would achieve my desired look while not over processing my hair. Zoe does a great job with the haircut, taking off just enough to clean up the ends and the blowout is always super cute! I am very very happy. BTW: I didn't get the front desk person's name but his oat milk latte was AMAZING!

I've been going to this salon since it opened and won't go anywhere else. The owners Jen and Liana have done an incredible job fostering a really comfortable environment. The space is also beautiful. I never used to look forward to my cuts/colors, but I always do now. Aurora has top notch quality people and products -- well worth the investment.

I have loved all my visits to Aurora Salon and especially my haircuts with the fabulous Leigh! She has been my hairdresser for many years (I've followed her from place to place). I trust her explicitly and she always gives me the perfect haircut. I love Aurora because it's just the right size and my visits are always soothing. No loud, booming music which is hard to find these days and so much appreciated! Everyone is so kind and accommodating, too! Thank you Aurora Team and Leigh! 🥰

Jen is the most talented colorist! She truly listens and understands what I’m looking for and delivers every single time.
Liana is a magician! She takes my overgrown, out of control mop and shapes it in to an effortlessly cool and easy to maintain cut.
The salon is calming and unpretentious. I really appreciate the apprenticeship model and focus on continued education. The best around!

I adore this salon. It's easy to schedule, and the staff is amazing. I've been seeing Leigh for many years (and many salons). She continues to give the best cuts. (I've had to try other stylists and other salons during times when she was on leave, and nothing compares.) I've also just ventured into getting my hair colored - hello greys! Lily is wonderful. She's been easing me into the process, and she gives a glorious scalp massage. I've seen and heard great things from other stylists too - I often look around and wonder if I should make a bigger change because I see someone else with an amazing cut in a totally different color or style. Maybe??

I had a great experience here. Everyone was super friendly and inviting, they greeted me and offered me coffee/lattes right away, everything is clean and beautiful, and Leigh did a fabulous job with my haircut. She really listened to what I wanted, asked helpful clarifying questions, and executed an excellent cut. I will definitely be back!

Leigh does my cut and nails it every time! My hair is curly and often people struggle to get the layering correct but Leigh does a great job.

First time lucky! Staff are so friendly. Thomas was amazing and my hair looks great. I'll definitely be back.

Liana is an amazing stylist! I've been following her for many years. She listens well and cuts with precision. Her cuts retain their shape for many weeks (I have short hair, so that's not always the case). The salon is quiet and calm. I would recommend Liana to anyone who wants a sophisticated and elegantly-cut style!

I recently moved to DC and, after having the same hometown hair stylist for 20 years, I found it challenging to trust anyone new. However, Zoe immediately understood my concerns and attentively listened to all my haircut preferences. Since I moved back to DC a few years ago, I've been struggling to find a stylist I want to come back to over and over again. Thank goodness I found Zoe! She is so thoughtful and intentional about my hair, and I appreciate that while she cuts my hair she explains what kind of cutting techniques she's using and why. It's great to finally have as stylist who gets my hair and I trust her completely!

I've had a hell of a time finding a salon home in DC. From big business implosions to bad cuts, favorite colorists moving out of the city...I couldn't find anywhere to land. I went to Aurora for the first time yesterday and had an excellent experience. Perfect mix of nice but not stuffy. Great cut, great color, efficient admin (booking, paying, tipping). Already booked my next service.

Brand new salon with the great hair services from the Phillip sisters. The salon is GORGEOUS!!!! I have been seeing Liana Phillips as my hair stylist and Jen Phillips for years. Always great, consistent and satisfying results. I have followed the sisters from their 2 previous salons and beyond happy they opened up their own salon. That means they pick everything from the great products to the other wonderful stylists at the salon. They know the ins and out of the DC salon world, so they know the best. No wonder their salon is so pretty and calming. Also, must mention how safe they are being during COVID-19. I left feeling comfortable to come back anytime. Very clean, the front desk staff is extremely nice and everything runs so smoothly! Def go and see Liana, Jen or one of their many awesome stylists and colorists.

My hair had been fried by a previous hair stylist and I came in to help and they were amazing. They gave me some gloss and my hair looks normal while still waiting for it to grow out. The staff is wonderful! I can’t recommend them more highly.

I've been a client of Liana's since 2008, and when she and her sister opened Aurora I counted myself as one of her first clients. My wife has also been a happy client for almost as long. I highly recommend Liana and all the Aurora stylists for any man or woman who wants a cool haircut.

Aurora is a great salon with wonderful stylists. It feels chic, yet comfortable, and every experience I have had has been top-notch. Thomas is fantastic - so talented - and Jen and Sophie do beautiful color. Highly recommend!

I enjoy coming here for my haircut, so far this is my go to place. Each person I have has me feeling good and refreshed. This was the first salon in which I learned my hair type 2C/3A. I found this to be helpful, so I can better understand my hair. This created trust and allowed me to experiment with different styles. I learned they offer complimentary bang trims. For those who enjoy interior design, their visual appearance is fun to experience.
