Ruby Scoops Ice Cream & Sweets

I had the banana pudding flavored vegan ice cream, and although i’m not a big fan of banana flavored food it was very good and smooth. The snickerdoodle cookie was also delicious. I love that this place has multiple flavor options both for regular and vegan ice cream!!! The prices were reasonable and the decor is inside is cute. Only con is theres no official parking lot so you have to search for a spot. I will definitely be visiting again to support this Black and woman owned business.

Where do I start? This has got to be the most DELICIOUS ice cream I've ever had. The flavors are amazing, different, and one of a kind. That HOT HONEY CORNBREAD and that UBE, OMG!! Just go and see for yourself. You're welcome in advance.

I have been here lots of times and all those times have been great! I got a red velvet ice cream and the best I have ever eaten in my life even though I am only 12. It tastes just how red velvet should taste like. Like you know how red velvet cake tastes sometimes like chemicals? Yeah, not in this ice cream.
Also there service is very good when I go I really recommend this you.

I scream! You scream! We should ALL scream for Ruby Scoops Ice Cream & Sweets. Visiting this sweet place was the highlight of my day (surprise from the husbae 🥰) & I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed EVERY flavor. We purchased their flight option since we couldn’t decide on one flavor. They have dairy & non dairy options & also unique flavors. We came on a Thursday and weren’t too busy so that was PERFECT! The decor is super cute and the customer service was great.

And that’s why we had to get the flight. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.

Delicious flavors and super friendly and informative staff! Strawberry Yum Yum was off the hook, of course. :) Blackberry sorbet was AMAZING as well and I don't usually go the sorbet route when ice cream is available. My son said, "Everything was very good. I will definitely drive 3 hours back, just to get some more ice cream." "The flavors were amazing, super clean, super nice. Will definitely come back again." P.S. Parking is what it is but well worth finding a spot. Much love!

We checked out Ruby Scoops Ice Cream & Sweets today. Why didn’t I know about this place? It was delicious. I had the sampler. It was way too much food with lunch, but good thing we have a 16 year old garbage disposal named Adrian at home. My rankings of Ruby Scoops by flavor:

1. Chocolate (probably the best in Richmond. Reminiscent of our trip to Italy)
2. Grapefruit with Tarragon. (Sounds weird, but delicious with beautiful color)
3. Dulce de leche (I’m not a huge fan of any caramel to be honest, but this was delicious)
4. Cookie butter (I think it’s called. Super skeptical about this one. My wife thought it was the best. Hard to describe. Little crispies of caramel sugar and butter is what it tasted like)
5. Guava (nice taste great mouth feel)
6. Vanilla (for me, vanilla is normally for pie, but this one was really good.
7. Mixed berry with banana - this would have been much higher because I love a mixed berry, but not huge on banana.
8. Mimosa- It was a little bitter for me

Funky lil ice cream shop and they had Halloween flavors upon arrival so that was fun. No samples due to covid still... Might be a bit outdated of a policy if you ask me, especially with wild flavors that you're not sure what to expect. 1 really friendly employee.. The other... Not 😂 But who really can be nice and polite to streams of people all day, definitely not me. Anyways, ice cream was good. I recommend the pumpkin king ice cream sandwich.

Tried it for the first time today and loved the different flavors and the service. Also thought that the flight of scoops was a great idea and the presentation in an egg box was very creative! Loved the whole experience!

Ben wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint! Love that they have rotting seasonal flavors and then sell pints of the previous flavors. They also sell a flight so you can try multiple flavors at once. Must-go if you love ice cream.

Went with my son and nephew. The service was excellent and the ice cream was delicious. Even the plain vanilla ice cream that my son got was so good. I had the butter brickle, which was also excellent. Also, half of their selection was non dairy options!

Got the Black Joy and the pumpkin spice flavor, as well as trying other flavors through my party members. I was especially impressed by the Black Joy, the apple pie, and the guava sorbet. The brownie in the Black Joy was so good, I feel like they'd have some success going into baked goods. There's a lot of vegan and dairy-free options for people with dietary restrictions.

My son and I visited Ruby scoops Ice cream 🍦 shop recently. The ice cream is very delicious. Please give it a try, you won't regret it 😉

Sooo I went on a Saturday and got the flight. The flight has six different scoops of ice cream (vegan ice cream for me) and/or sorbet. My flight had Lemon berry, Mango sorbet, Passion fruit sorbet, Guava daiquiri sorbet, Gingerbread, and Cookie butter. Maaaaaaan let me tell you, I went back the next day and got another flight of ice cream that's how GOOD it was. I'm lactose intolerant (sorry tmi) but my stomach wasn't upset not once. Their ice is the best I've had in a long long long time. On my second trip I managed to snap a picture beforehand. I got 2 scoops of the Cookie Butter, 2 scoops of the Guava daiquiri sorbet, a scoop of Passion fruit sorbet, and Gingerbread (these were my favorite). However, that Cookie butter ice cream needs to be sold by the gallon because MY LAAAWD MY LAAAAWD That's the one right there!

This shop is such a blessing.. they have just as nice a line up of vegan ice cream as regular dairy and that's hard to come by. Most places have one or two flavors but not Ruby's! She had several listed on the wall... thank you Rubys!
I'm so glad I chose the mango sorbet (vegan) it was SO DARN GOOD I wanted to go back for seconds.
I heard theres usually a line to get in, but due to covid they only let a few people in the store at a time. But we managed to choose the right time evidently because we were able to walk right in to order. The owner, Ms Ruby I guess, was behind the counter, and she was so nice and friendly. This is one of those places you love going to. I will be back very soon!
Side note: I was told they're only open in weekends..

This place was so cute and the ice cream was delicious! I love how everything is compostable! No plastic waste! 🙌🏻 The only thing I didn’t like was the bathroom was out of commission. I’ll definitely be back!

This spot was wonderful! I watched her win on the show and I told my husband that's where I wanted to go for my birthday and we went and it was every bit of a fangirl experience if I needed it to be! It's been a little over a year since we've been there but we will be back we live out of state so I'm going to be seeking out Ruby Scoops every time I go to Richmond Virginia! And I just found out she has a snow cone shop so I'm super excited to try that out too! We love your Scoops keep up the good work!

It was absolutely amazing! Perfect vanilla ice cream, right amount of sweetness and the right amount of salty. My husband had the who's the boss (tiramisu and marscapone) of course I had to try that too, delicious 😋 everyone so darn nice. Definitely will be back. I mean come on... Chocolate Sprinkles... Yessss!

My fiancé and I just visited for the first time yesterday and it did NOT disappoint. Ricky greated us with great customer service and explained all our options to us. We both got the ice cream flights so we could try different flavors and all of them were delicious. The coquito flavor was authentic. Ricky is a very nice guy and made the experience that much better. My fiancé couldn’t stop talking about the ice cream all night. We will definitely be back.
