Maxine's

Small diner with quick service. I've been coming here since I was little. The hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy is mouth watering. I often think about eating it, but alas, I'm not in the area very much 😢 Petition for Maxine's to be a global chain? 😍 Good prices and large portions. I got an omelet this time and there's enough for another meal leftover. Also, the bathrooms are very nice and clean 💯

I hope you're ready to eat! Each one of these meals could easily feed two people. Our meal came out in around 10 minutes and was delicious! The owner Maxine even came over and talked to us for a little bit. Atmosphere is perfect for a breakfast resteraunt. I will only eat breakfast here now when I am in town. I can't recommend enough!

In the midst of troubling American times and normals, Ms. Maxine gave me hope in humanity and wholesome welcoming into her place! The food was AMAZING! Please for the life of God, the Bacon Waffle changed my LIFE! If there were more stars to give, I would. But the best part is having the owner engaging with customers, everyone that enters and exits says Good morning and good day, no matter if you are local or passing through. Ms. Maxine made sure we remembered our way back "home". The atmosphere, the staff, other patrons......I am enamored and taken away with my first visit. This DEFINITELY will NOT be my last visit. I went here for brunch with my wife. I had the fried steak eggs Benedict which was amazing! I don't think I've had an eggs Benedict that was better anywhere else.

My wife had an omelette with a pancake which was nice and filling. They were able to add jalapenos to the omelette as she requested.

Maxine's is a jewel of a family restaurant in Rice Lake.

We had breakfast here, it was very delicious. The pancakes are huge. We even got to meet Maxine. She is a generally kind hearted person.

Maxine's is excellent. I came here for breakfast every day for a week and was never disappointed. The service was always exceptional and the food was exactly what I hoped for.
I particularly enjoyed the biscuits and gravy.
Next time I'm in Rice Lake Maxine's will definitely be a must visit.

I guess I’m not sure why this wouldn’t be 5 stars for anyone that goes here. Great service. Maxine herself stopped by each table to say hi. Wonderful food. I had the eggs Benedict. Great hollandaise sauce. Delicious. The pancakes were good also. BIG pancakes. The waitress UNDERSOLD how big they are, which is rare. She asked my son if he thought he could eat the 3 pancakes he ordered. He wasn’t close. I don’t think anyone needs the 3rd pancake. :)

Maxine's is FANTASTIC!! Great people, great service, great food, and the perfect breakfast diner atmosphere. Maxine came out to tell me to finish all my potatoes because she just peeled 100 pounds of them and didn't want to see any go to waste. It doesn't get any better than Maxine's.

Family owned and operated. A local favorite for sure, always friendly staff and the food is always top notch. It gets VERY loud when it’s busy though. I love the hash browns with cheese! Good prices.

Only place left that has good prices and big portions. Food and service are great. Wonderful staff.

Absolutely love this place. I live across the street and there are days when I wake up thinking to myself "I'm hungry for breakfast " and this is the spot. Everyday there are different specials, the food is Phenomenal. My favorite is the country fried steak breakfast. The staff are super friendly and always nice.. definitely a spot to check

I love Maxine's! Used to go as a treats when I was a kid. Now that in an adult I try to go when I am in town. I had the biscuits & gravy. Not as good as they used to be. Seems the recipe has changed a bit. Service was good. Atmosphere was good aside from a few flies that would not leave us alone. I wish they were open longer! I will always go back but maybe get the crepes instead. 😀

This place is amazing. Food was cooked perfectly & delicious. Service was quick & friendly. Maxine even came to our table to chat. Their menu has a nice variety but not so many items that their attention to detail was impeccable! Was in town from WA state and will certainly come back when I return. 5-Stars in my book!

We love Maxine’s! My husband & I came here last year and loved the food so much that we came back with my dad. The service was great, fast & we loved the extra touch from Maxine, who greeted & thanked us for coming.

Great food and friendly staff. Cool place. I recommend breakfast here. They have fresh eggs, real peeled potatoes, and excellent coffee.

Great breakfast. It’s a must stop whenever we are in town.
