New Castle Battery Park

Great walking path park! Dogs allowed on leashes. Huge fields to play in. Large Kids playground with newer equipment, great jungle gym. Perfect paved trail for walking or biking or rollerblading or using a stroller. Fair amount of parking in multiple different locations along the trail. There’s a smaller parking lot at the beginning of the trail near the pier but there’s an even larger parking lot further down the trail. Excellent views over the water. Tons of benches to sit at and enjoy the view. Historic landmarks about New Castle and military honorable plaques. There’s a memorial for General Thomas Holcomb of the Marines, he was from New Castle! Also this is a historic location of one of the first railroads in America! Awesome relaxing location to enjoy an outdoor adventure! Great for families and adults!

Love the view from here and the long, paved trail. Great place to picnic, take kids to run around, or walk the dog. Usually has a nice breeze off the water, too. There can be a bit of goose droppings to dodge on the trail sometimes. Wonderful place to walk or run and to take the dog for a walk! We don't even live in the state but make it a point to travel here a least once a month.

Nice place to walk dogs. Beautiful views. Don't see any options in town where you can dine outside or get coffee outside with your fur babies. If I missed something please correct me. Walking along the water was amazing. Beautiful area.

This park is just amazing. Me and my friends along with my family walk here alot, i recommend walking here.

Perfect place for an early morning walk. On a clear morning, you'll see a sunrise. There is a great cross breeze as you walk. Just beware of the geese dropping.

Gorgeous Park. Quiet during the week days. I like to find a place to fish along the walking/bike trail

A place where you can have morning jog followed by Sun light bath. You have benches to sit and relax after your jogging. It's not a beach though. It's the inland water from Atlantic. Park is very well maintained and when we visited this weekend there were shops put up with all kinds of handcrafts, art galleries. Had a very nice time here. Will visit again.

Good place for walking and watching sunsets. Great view on Delaware River.
Has a playground

Great place to go walk around. Be sure to check out Separation Day.. Take a tour of some of what the Historical Society has to offer, tours are readily available on hour between the scheduled times in photos.
Great place to be. To get away & just explore history...

Very pretty park and historic district. Super clean and great for jogging. By the pier you can see the NJ/Del Memorial Bridge also you can see the remnants of the old fort. If you are into bird watching or animal watching lots of geese, seagulls on the other end as well as an occasional fox, rabbit or skunk. Lol. Lots of relaxing nooks to take in the scenery. The park is super clean, so if you eat no garbage cans so take your trash with you. Also if you have a sail boat, there is a ramp for you to utilize. Lastly there are plenty of small mini beaches if you want to sit closer to the water. The historic district is a few blocks away and would definitely warrant a look or stop by the local pubs.

Excellent place to take a walk or stroll or walk your dog. They have a playground for kids to play. You also have some breath taking views of the river and river banks. In warmer months it’s packed with people walking and strolling about.😊

All these years I've heard about the park but never visited. There is a walking trail and lots of beautiful scenery. You can ride bikes on the trail, walk, sit by the water, take pictures and just enjoy the gift of nature.

Great place to exercise, release stress, visually pleasing. Quiet. Lots of nature geese, birds, turtles, fish. Clean. No druggies. Take a few extra steps and visit old New Castle located right there. I visited the cemetery built in the 1600's while I was there. Lots of historical buildings. Great place to visit

Great Park on the banks of the Delaware river with lots of room to spread out relax and enjoy the outdoors. Just need to watch out for the goose droppings in places. Bring a bike and ride down to the end of the trail about 2 miles out. Olds town New Castle is only one block away to absorb 200 year old history too.

Awesome, peaceful and clean place for walking, jogging, hiking, fishing and for a picnic. A decent parking space. The river side is amazing for a walk.
It was less crowded when I went, everybody was keeping enough distance from each other.

A spectacular park. They have community events during the year. Historic homes nearby. Awesome restaurants like Jessops. If you walk by the water, you may find tumbled seaglass or shells. Playground for the little ones. Squirrels that give you the look that melts hearts as you share a peanut. Friendly walkers.

Walkable trails. Well maintained sidewalk. No cracks. Good for bikes and people. And dogs.
There was some maintenance when we went, some detour but still no problem.

I love Battery Park! Being able to get so close to the water and hear the waves is so peaceful. There's a walking trail and a playground for the kids. It's my favorite place in New Castle county!
