Middle Run Valley Natural Area

The park is set back far enough on a side road that unless you know it's there you would never know it's there. The walking/ biking trail is gorgeous. The creek that runs through it makes for a very peaceful hike. If you look close enough you can see deer talks and what I assume were fox tracks.

A beautiful 860 acre park in New Castle County. There are over 10 miles of trails for hiking and bike riding. This park adjoins White Clay Creek State Park and its many miles of trails. Middle Run has a trail designed for birding.

I throughly enjoyed my walk at Middle Run Valley Natural Area. There is obviously a determined effort to preserve this habitat! The trails were well marked - both in the forest as well as out in the fields - the small bridges aided in crossing the creek, and the dirt bike riders had what seemed to be an obstacle course of sorts. Upon exiting the forest, I found an array of wildflowers and honeysuckle and had the pleasure of meeting a couple of hawks.

Had a beautiful time. I took the snow goose trail.they do have a big board at the entrance that shows the different trails ; how long they are etc. Went on my lunch break with my lil dog. Got a nice lil recording of baby birds. Which you could hear though out the hike at different places. That was really neat because i never heard baby birds sound like that. I only did half the trail . there is no parking fee. I do have a yearly pass to get into the state parks any way.

Planting trees at the Middle Run Valley Nature Area again this year for the Delaware Nature Society. This beauty is a Chestnut Oak. Planted three White Oaks and a Red Maple as well this year. See in the distance trees maturing from previous DNS planting. #nature #delawarenaturesociety #gogreen

The trail system is pretty fun for mountain biking. It's also heavily used by runners and hikers. All the bridges are really nice as well to keep us from getting wet when crossing streams.

FYI it's not approved to have your dogs off leash here, dogs can only roam free where posted in NCC.

Nice path for a hike! Our two year old loved walking on the bike ramps and exploring.

Great trails for hiking and especially mountain biking.

Great place for the dogs, a few places were muddy but to be expected, it recently rained, but just be careful when hiking, I wiped out once lol

Best riding trails hands down. During week you have the place to yourself. Did 9 miles and didn't come across any other riders and only 1 hiker.

This is a fun place to wander around. I did a short loop hike while my brother did a mountain bike trail. We both enjoyed it, but he did say the trees were a bit overgrown and he got soaked from hitting leaves and small branches after it had rained overnight.

I didn't explore to confirm it is still there, but there is a sign from an eagle scout project about a nature walk with signs about local floral and fauna, which I thought was a very cool project.

Great little park that is a hotspot for bird viewing. Also has some great trails for both hikers and mountain bike enthusiasts. My son completed his Eagle Scout project in this location and will always have that spot in my heart for this area.
