Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

We were staying overnight in Ellensburg WA and ate dinner and breakfast the following morning. Service so friendly and attentive. For breakfast I had eggs Benedict, they are the best,,I am picky about the sauce and here the sauce is perfect and I liked you could order a smaller portion on the senior menu. My husband had the waffle plate and loved the way they cooked his scrambled eggs. The night before I had shrimp dinner with corn and rice pilaf. It was all so good especially the rice pilaf. My husband had the chicken fried steak dinner, one of the best he has had. We bought the peanut butter silk pie to take with us for dessert. The slices were huge and oh so good. After breakfast we bought a half dozen of their muffins. They have a large selection of homemade daily made pies, muffins, cookies, brownies and other desserts.

There's not too much I can really say about this place. I didn't really go in for a full meal but the coffee and dessert I went for was a really nice experience.

I walked in at about 7pm on a Tuesday. I asked for coffee and a carrot cake. My full order comes in about 4 minutes. The coffee is fresh brewed and even for 1 person they left a full decanter on the table. The carrot cake was fresh, moist nutty and flavorful.

It had really home like energy to it and I didn't feel rushed at all. The welcomed me even as a customer with a tiny 10$ bill.

Next time I go I have space to try the food.

I was thinking this was going to be like a Sherry's and while the menu was reminiscent of a Sherry's... the food was actually AWESOME 👍👍. I got the steak and eggs because it was dinner time and the steak I asked for medium was PERFECT. Delicious steak and some of the best pancakes I've had in a while. I don't usually care for pancakes and my test of a good pancake is if I can just eat it plain with butter and it can hold it's own.... These pancakes passed with flying colors. They were fluffy, thick but not dense, had great "pancake" flavor and that little hint of crispness in the pan seared side. Also got the potatoes and they were well seasoned, crispy outsides, tender insides just like a good breakfast potato should be. I wish they had these near me... Would drive out of my way to eat here again!

Busy place on Saturday. Service was friendly and prompt. Wait staff was nice and responsive. Clean inside and restrooms were as well. The everything omelet we shared with country potatoes and muffin was all appropriate temperature and quite tasty. If you are looking for breakfast in Ellensberg then get here!
UPDATE: we are back on a Sunday around 9:30 am and it’s not too busy. Service was fast and we got the same food as last time. Just as good. Only drawback is that it’s greasier than I remember las time. And it could be less greasy and still be really good.

Love coming back to this place. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Their pastries are on point. I tried the strawberries and crème crisper appetizer and it was worth it. We got the sirloin steak and chicken fried steak breakfast. It was good to have your typical comfort food items on the menu.

It's hard to find fresh salads being a trucker. Sure the truck stops have salads most of the time are "ok" a lot of times soggy and not appetizing. It was nice to come here and get some healthy food and walk right next door from loves truck stop. I come here a lot to bring supplies from Illinois so I'll definitely be back. Thank you to the waitress she was so nice! I even ordered soup and salad to go so I have it tomorrow for dinner.

Whoever cooks the steaks in the morning deserves a big raise 😄 And Ana the waitress with dark, curly hair and glasses is super nice and attentive. 6/5 stars for her and the cook who made the steaks during breakfast today (3/5/24)

Soo happy there is at least 1 Perkins left in Washington! This chain is all over the Midwest and East Coast. Phenomenal breakfast and bakery! Not to mention all kinds of dinner items also. Our waitress was incredible as well! Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Great breakfast and lunch restaurant. I have never been there for dinner, but I love going for breakfast or lunch. Delicious food, and great customer service. Really nice and thoughtful waiters. Definitely recommend.

I had a lovely experience at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery. The waitress was exceptionally kind, making the meal that much more enjoyable. I also noticed how clean and well-maintained the facilities were. As for the food, it was delicious and clearly made with care. Definitely a good spot for a satisfying meal in a pleasant environment.

This place is great. The food is inexpensive, but great and large portions. Have been here .any many years ago. Place is always busy. The pies are to die for, I lo e the banana cream pie and the coconut cream pie. We will definitely stop here next time we pass.

As a truck driver, I always appreciate restaurants outside the normal in trucks stops. Perkins has a really nice menu and the food is great. Loved the service , was really clean.

Wonderful little restaurant. I had a layover in the semi here. Parked at the loves and ate several meals at this restaurant. It was good food and very wonderful service. Extremely friendly staff. Look forward to visiting again.

This is my favorite restaurant to visit after I go to any festival at the Gorge!

I always take 90 West after festivals, and I crave a nice hot, breakfast after sleeping in a tent for 3+ days. When I found this restaurant last year, it became an instant favorite. I literally look forward to a nice hot breakfast on my way home from Perkins.

The prices are pretty reasonable for diner food, and the portions are perfect, the quality is good, and the food always comes out pretty quick after ordering.

I love the local feel of the restaurant too- there’s a stand with local products for sale, most notably the local honey and the handmade candles.

The service is great too. There is always enough seating, so the wait is less than 15 minutes in spite of the post festival traffic. Staff disclosed to me that they keep track of the festival schedule and make sure to be adequately staffed. The staff are also so friendly and warm and don’t look at you sideways for coming in dirty or hungover from a weekend at the Gorge.

Since July I have traveled from Washington to California to Seattle ..Spokane and Idaho.. I was on my way back from Seattle when we decided to stop here.. the day before, I had just eaten at the Cheesecake Factory… it wasn’t as good as expected... the meal and service from this Perkins was above and beyond our expectations food was delicious hot on time our waitress was attentive kind and she was busy too ..but, never made us feel like we were not a priority. I loved my experience so much.. I’ll stop by here again the next time I’m on my way to Seattle or back .. :)

I stop here every time I'm driving across WA on I-90. This time, I had Cajun style salmon with rice and veggies. The salmon actually had a bit of kick to it and was quite good - not overcooked. The broccoli was steamed and tasty, and the rice pilaf was good. The service was friendly. The place was clean, including restrooms.

Food was fantastic.
Service was phenomenal.
The food was very delicious.
Our waitress Grace was very attentive to our needs and extremely nice.
The service was fast and efficient.
All in all a fantastic establishment and I would highly recommend coming here to eat.

Food good! Love Frankie she's amazing she remembers us even if it's been awhile. She remembers what we drink and what we eat. Not many can do that! She has such a sweet smile and disposition.

I liked their Ambience, Service and taste of food. They had plenty of vegetarian options. We ordered burger, Sandwich, Omelette and waffle. All of them were tasty.
