Hummingbird to Mars

Love bringing friends here for drinks or dinner. Had the espresso spritz and it’s my new favorite drink! Great atmosphere and lovely live music.

if you're looking for a place in Wilmington Delaware that no one knows about is hidden and tucked away and is very cool and offers an awesome $13 cocktail, this is your place. It ain't cheap the crowd is upscale casual and very trendy. it's tucked away and kind of super secret above Catherine Rooney's with an entrance around the back which doesn't have any description except for the buzzer on the wall. you push the buzzer they ask you a question you may be allowed to enter and enjoy the ambiance. This was my second time coming for a company Christmas party. Great food and excellent service. I had crab cake, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables which tasted delicious. The crab cakes were very filling. I will definitely come again.

Such a great place! The menu of specially crafted cocktails is extensive, you're bound to find something new that you like. Staff is happy to make thoughtful recommendations.

This place is on the pricy side, but worth it for a special occasion. There aren't a lot of bars I can get a dark and stormy, but this one delivers. The live music wasn't intrusive and added to the experience. I did not have a chance to try the food, but have the feeling I will be coming back sometime soon.

Love this cozy little place. Great ambiance. When there is a band playing, you feel like you're going back in time. Try to get a seat at the bar so you can see how the bartender makes your delicious drink!

Really cool place. The were at capacity when we got there so we grabbed the pre drink at another bar around the corner while we waited. Once we got in we sampled some of the seasons all drinks which were amazing. Also as a good FYI, while they don't have a kitchen they do have access to Catherine Rooneys Bar menu if you want to snack. New life goal: trying all their cocktails.

Really great place that I never knew existed, it has a speakeasy vibe with live music and all. The food was delicious and our waitress, Jessica, was very accommodating! Definitely recommend.

This “Speakeasy” type restaurant in Wilmington, DE has cool atmosphere, excellent cocktails, good pub food and friendly service. You have to find the easy-to-miss door with a hummingbird on it and buzz to be admitted to the upstairs club. Try it!
The quirky name refers to a 1930 statement by a Texas senator that repealing Prohibition had as much chance of happening as a hummingbird would have of flying to Mars “with the Washington Monument tied to its tail.”

Always a great place with the most lovely atmosphere and drinks! I've been a few times now and Dominic (hopefully I spelled that correctly!) has always been the most attentive and helpful server. If you get seated in his section, you'll always get wonderful service. This location truly has some of the best cocktails, definitely more of a social gathering place than a restaurant necessarily, (the food is still good but limited options), but it makes me like it all the more. Also, they always seem to have live jazz and I always enjoy listening! Seriously, everyone should try this place at least once.

Awesome hang. I loved the vibe, the decor, the casual yet refined comfort of Hummingbird to Mars. The music (the two Johns) was spot on. Cocktails were fantastic, although, as I recall, the beer list was not exciting. I'm into craft beer, so this matters to me, but again: the cocktails were fantastic!
We got here around 10:00 p.m. so we didn't eat, but I hope to come back and have a meal (I live in philadelphia, and I'm serious, this might be worth the drive sometime just to share with my friends).
If you want to get here when the music starts, I recommend a reservation. We did not have one, but the restaurant staff exceeded expectations by taking my name and number and texting me when a table was available (you get a 15 minute window to show up and a password to use at the door -kudos for the speakeasy vibe!).
Congrats to the owner(s) and staff for having a place that any City would envy.

Eclectic-intimate-prohibition era/speakeasy style bar with unique craft cocktail selections, decent menu options, and live music. Highly recommend the "where there is smoke.." mezcal cocktail! It's 🔥

This place is awesome. I met one of my best friends here for the first time. It has a really nice atmosphere, great cocktails, and often some really enjoyable live music. A great place to meet up with a friend or bring a date.

I absolutely love this place, great atmosphere, great drinks, great hosts... definitely a great spot to sit back relax with great company.
