Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown

My husband has had two hip replacement surgeries here and I cannot say enough about the care we received. Everyone is so attentive, caring and friendly. He was in alot of pain and they worked hard and got it under control. They also were very welcoming to me asking all the time if I needed anything.

I had partial knee replacement by Dorian Wood, M.D. I was very pleased with him and my experience at this hospital. The entire staff were very helpful and warmly welcoming. I ended up with an overnight stay and the staff were extremely attentive and caring. My nurse Eddie was awesome as he was extremely attentive and helpful. To top off my stay, the food was amazing! I highly recommend any procedure at this hospital.

I was at this particular hospital due to an abdominal perforation. I nearly lost my life . I had a motorcycle handlebar literally penetrate my abdominal wall and because of the professionals at Baylor and God's grace I was given another chance at life. Even the food was great once I was finally able to eat something . On top of saving my life I received drug treatment, which I continue upon being discharged from Baylor hospital. They are on top of their game. Thank you to all the staff at Baylor, especially my surgeon, the anesthesia team, and my nurses. Y'all were perfect in every way .

Surgical center is phenomenal so far. Very organized. Free valet. Walked a few steps up for surgery. Front desk at surgical center checked us in, nice organized patient binder, patient advocate greeted me as a family member, provided me a packet, shared facility details. Phone charging stations, text/phone notifications for me on surgery progress. It is clear that the leadership has thought about the end to end experience for the patient as well as their supporters and the culture so far has been great by all who greeted us, valet, information desk, and the aforementioned. Great job Baylor.

They have taken great care of my dad here! Diana, patient coordinator, on the surgery floor is wonderful. So attentive, communicative and kind! Thankful for her.

Had my gastric sleeve done by Dr Marc Ward and his team last week, by far one of the best doctors and experiences I've ever had in a hospital. First time ever having surgery and Dr Ward made the process easy and is very respectful, knowledgeable and experienced. I definitely recommend this place and services. Absolutely amazing 🙌🙌

I brought my Aunt here for a total knew replacement. Diana greeted us with a warm smile and cheerful demeanor. She even provided a packet of info with puzzles to keep the mind busy while I waited. Then passed around little goody bags. Every staff member has been kind and professional and very welcoming. Dr Youssef is very down to earth and easy to talk to. I’m very pleased with our services today.

Great experience @ the surgical center. During our overnight stay ALL of the staff was amazing. From the valet/security, to the techs, nurses, and doctors. Big shout out to Joyce, Eddie, and Keren! They took care of us and made us feel like home.

This hospital went above and beyond during a procedure I had done. From beginning to end they made sure that my caretaker and I had everything we needed. Literally every single staff member we met was so kind, caring, and helpful!!! They even thought to give my mom an activity packet so that she’d have something to do during my surgery. Plus they have (according to my mom) very good $3 meals!! She joked that for that price it would almost be worth it to make the long drive for us there everyday, lol. It is a very nicely decorated and clean hospital. I would highly recommend anyone go here if they are able to. You won’t be disappointed!

After a total Hip replacement, the care we have received has been nothing but outstanding. Every single employee at this facility has truly showed compassion to not only the patient but family too. We have yet had to ask for anything. Care has been 24 hrs and on time for everything. All the nurses and techs show through their skills and patient care that they love their job and their patients. Every interaction has been very positive. His pain has be managed very well, they have stayed on top of everything. Dr. Lancaster has done an amazing job, he has walked twice and it hasn’t even been 24 hours post op. I would like to recognize Allison, OR nurse. She kept me very informed during the surgery. As did Dr. Lancaster. The patient advocate was a great resource to have during the surgery too. The security gentleman treats you like you’re staying at the Ritz. Eddie was our nurse during the day and did a wonderful job keeping Him happy and out of pain. Eddie was very personable. The night shift RN, Barbara and her Tech, Erica have been so amazing all 12 hrs of their shift! Always had a smile on their faces and kept him up to date on all of his care. I can’t say enough good about this facility. You feel like family when you’re here. It was worth the drive to receive such outstanding care. I recommend this Hospital for any care you might need to have!

My father had surgery at this facility. My mother was the only one who was allowed in to accompany my father. (This is the only part I disliked as both are elderly.) Every single person involved June 8-9 were amazing. From the valet person, to the gentleman at the front desk, admitters, nurses, anesthesia and DR Syed - awesome!!! awesome!!!

This is a wonderful center. The whole staff are all excellent and made me feel very comfortable. I was nervous and had high anxiety about my surgery and they made the process as easy as possible. There is a patient advocate that ensured my wife was updated and taken care of while she waited for me. The chicken soup they sent home with me was super yummy too. If you need surgery, I highly recommend Baylor Uptown.

From the time you arrive to the time you leave, it is the best well oiled medical facility I have been to. The best was the most dedicated surgeon I have ever had (Dr. Preeti Malladi) and her no short of perfection medical team and experts in their field. Dr. Mark Huffman was the icing on the cake with his great expertise and great listening skills achieved what no other anesthesiologist has been able to do and that was no nausea or pain when I wake up after surgery. He had a great sense of humor and put me right at ease which made the experience even easier to endure. I still have not taken 1 nausea or pain pill yet after the 3rd day of surgery. A big thanks to Tony (my assigned nurse), as well as Kate and Sam for their professionalism and excellent care. This is the least I can do after the great care I received.

I’ve unfortunately needed to go to ER several times over the past year. I’ve come to Baylor Uptown every time and always received fast and efficient care. I never had to wait to see a doctor. Nurses checked on me often. Everyone was friendly. Examination done, diagnosis made (correct each time), prescriptions sent, and I was on my way. My co-pay is $100 and they’ve never tried to bill me for more. I had no issues with insurance, they took care of sending them the info for the claim.

I have been to several physical therapy clinics in my area over the past few years and this one has been the best.
The staff has been very good at communicating with me and my doctor about my condition and how I feel about how my treatment is helping me get back to normal.
They give me information on how to do exercises and how the exercises effect muscles, joints, pain, etc.
The clinic is very clean and quiet. It is very near the front door of the hospital - very convenient location.
And lastly and very importantly , the staff - administrative staff and therapists have been friendly ,caring and helpful. They have been great representatives of Baylor Scott & White.

Wife has gone there twice and everyone is so nice and competent. They make it easy to relax, even in trying circumstances. All the personnel from the intake person to the nurses and others are so kind to every patient there. My wife was trying to walk to another room after recovering from a procedure. She was trying to go without bothering her nurse. Another nurse saw her and immediately came to her aid. Two other people at the desk also jumped up to help. There was no "not my patient" attitude. They are great!!

My stay at Baylor Scott & White - Uptown was amazing. Everyone seemed sincerely interested in keeping me comfortable and to help me get better as soon as possible. They did above and beyond helping with any thing I requested and very promptly. The were all pleasant and nice even when I was trying to adjust the bed and accidentally pushed the Nurse call button. One nurse really stood out. Her name is Nancy. She always keep things I needed maintained and within reach very tidy, and she never left the room without asking "is there any thing else you need"? Over all a very good experience. And I would like to mention the great meal choices and how good the food was. Thank you all

I recently had surgery at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at Uptown. The hospital is a smaller boutique-style hospital located conveniently in the Uptown and West Village neighborhoods of Dallas, Texas. Baylor Uptown has up-close parking and they also provided complimentary valet services.

While at Baylor Uptown, I had a very positive patient experience, the staff and nurses were kind and they kept me updated on what was happening next - and they were responsive to my needs. I found out this Baylor surgery center was one of the first LEED Green Certified hospitals in Dallas, Texas. I liked the smaller hospital ”feeling” of Baylor Uptown plus it seemed efficient and took less time than I was expecting. Everything went well with my surgery, and I liked my doctor.

The staff at the surgery center were careful to go over the post-operative instructions with me and also made sure my friend understood them as well. When I was preparing to leave, I was given a blue Baylor Uptown bag with all my post-surgical information - and inside the bag was a container of homemade chicken noodle soup-from the cafe at the hospital. A nice personal touch. When I returned home, and unpacked the blue Baylor bag, I realized they’d slipped a nice note from all of the nurses and medical staff that treated me. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at Uptown took customer service to the next level during my visit. I highly recommend them - if you need surgery or medical procedure.

Amazing place. From the moment we parked we were treated like royalty. While my mom was having surgery, they offered coffee and tea and had warm blankets for us to use in waiting room. We went to the cafeteria and had two burgers, fries and complimentary tea fire $8. They took our phone number and called us throughout the procedure to give us updates then we were taken to a quiet conference room for the doctor to come visit after the surgery. Every staff member we encountered was so kind and friendly.

I went in 09/2021 With Covid-Delta at the last minute and because so I wasn't supposed to survive the night. I was intubated for about a month. Longer then most , had a lot done to me. Then I woke up learned to walk sit eat talk and write all over again. Stayed untill 12/2021 went home came back a week later due to complications stayed a few more weeks had surgery. Went home had more complications a week later ended up back again in January stayed another month leaving in mid February after another surgery and full work up. There are so many people to mention and thank. Everyone was great I spent so long there they felt like friends and family and I actually miss seeing them but not being in the hospital lol. Every aspect of the doctors and nurses was great and I thank them for the help and caring attitude they provided. A great percentage of me being here besides my self will and God goes out to everyone at Baylor , thank you. I've worked hard and no longer need a transplant but still in recovery , I even walked 2.5 miles yesterday oxygen free. Thanks for everything and under better circumstances I hope to see everyone again. -Thomas Watkins
