East Library and Recreation Center

Amazing rec center with a library inside. They have a full court basketball gym, a swimming pool and other activities rooms. You can rent some party space as well. Swimming pool follows a schedule that can be grabbed from the front desk. Library is always clean and quiet.

Took Treasure and Nuriah to the East Libray and Rec center for some quiet time away from the house. They were so surprised to see a gym, basketball court, indoor pool, and most of all, all the books in the library. And the rocking chairs were the best. So theraputic. We put a tablet in the charging box 8 as soon as we came in, connected it, and locked the unit, but it didn't charge at all. I think the android charging cable in that box is bad. It seemed that there were some kid events or camps going on, but we thought we might be able to do some crafts, but we couldn't get that figured out. So we just hang out in the library. Even looking out the windows from the kids' corner was awesome! Thank you.

This place was perfect for our event! The staff are super helpful and friendly. The rental process was easy and affordable!

Great looking facility. Books, fitness centers, meeting rooms, computer access, youth and adult rec leagues, sports fields and courts, walking trails and sitting areas, and community event programs all in one convenient place. This is a state-of-the-art facility that is a little more focused on recreation than the library aspect. The library and wifi are free to use; the recreation has three different levels of membership, and water fitness classes are an additional cost. Membership is not required to purchase or use water fitness classes.

There is a small outdoor coworking space, a good-sized exercise room which includes free weights, a childcare room (available in 2021), a lounge for seniors where breakfast and lunch served by Meals On Wheels), a full size basketball court that can potentially accommodate more than 600 people, a ballet/dance room for indoor exercise classes, an outdoor exercise area, and a large pool with lap lanes, "aqua climb" rock climbing wall, and a zip line into the pool!

There is a party room attached to the pool available for rent, and many of the other rooms throughout the facility are available for rentals of all sizes and needs. The largest meeting room is attached to the kitchen for easy catering. The locker rooms have showers and you just need your own padlock for the lockers. There is also a private, family-size restroom, with shower, between each locker room and the pool.

Memberships to the exercise facilities are available at different prices for different ages. Family memberships are for up to 5 family members and are $72 per month per family for Arlington residents.

The library portion of the building seems very small because the emphasis is more on technology which I guess makes sense these days. There is a good selection of Spanish and Vietnamese books. There are computers available and you can print for a small cost. The childrens area has a couple of activity tables that should be operational in 2021 (due to COVID).

Took my grandson and 3 granddaughters to Halloween fest and they told me it was the best night of their lil lives. They got to meet a chicken ,super Mario cat in the hat ,police officers,face painting, limbo,n so much more then I expected got a book n a dog balloon they had a blast so thankyou for having a alternative .

Modernized, clean, spacious center with an open library (plentiful options, however smaller variety than the downtown George Hawkes library) and multiple rooms including a basketball court, weight room, swimming pool, etc. outside is a little walkway with a bridge with nice views.

The best natatorium we have been to, swim teachers are really excellent teachers and love what they do! Pool area is always clean, the family bathroom could use some help but I am willing to overlook it because the other bathrooms and showers are clean. The library is one of the best ones we have been to, they have a great variety of childrens books and lots of different areas to sit and read. Also, the way the books are arranged in the childrens area makes it really easy for kids to flip through them, without pulling them out all the way, it is very thoughtful!

I enjoyed going to this library. The employees were very helpful and it's a great place. It's a library and recreation center as well.

Very clean place and everyone is smiling and eager to help, whether it's gym, swimming lessons or at the library....

I had my sons 3rd birthday here this past weekend. The party went so well and the staff was very accommodating. A private party that was booked after his party canceled. The manager was nice enough to extend our time on the spot and the kids were happy. I would definitely book a party here again.

I went in looking for some help on a couple different things and walked out with a better understanding on how to accomplish them. Shalonda not only helped me, but took the time to go get answers and make sure I was informed properly on the process for citizenship classes for my mother. Just want to say thanks. For her GED class and took the time to explain and guide her through the whole process. Our whole experience there was great! Thank you both for your help and kindness!

Great place at all , for studying, using computer, playing basketball, swimming , I appreciate from all their nice staff and with a big smile they’re helping us .

It is ranked #3 recreation center in the nation in 2022. The staff is very friendly and the equipment is well maintained. The swimming pool is on the small side and hours are very short. The library is in the same building and there's a child center on site, too.

Clean and well organized. Took my great granddaughter to her swimming lesson and teachers worked well with their swimmers. The library is tops in my opinion

I love that they have so many activities for our kids, as in the library and activities they have after-school.

Everything was very clear, and everyone one was very professional and friendly.

I am a member of library and Recreation center as well as my 4 year kid. Library portion is not very big comparable to other libraries; however, good content, polite and supportive staff, meeting rooms, and quiet areas are exceptional. Recreational center is really state of the art example. Good lighting and nature views from most of the rooms. Gym, swimming pool and weight room are all working and updated.
