This place is phenomenal, and the reason that is: the staff.
They are always so helpful and polite! I never have a hard time getting a hold of someone over the phone, the times I’ve needed an appointment soon, they were able to find me one with very short notice. Dr Tanner is a sweetheart and so concerned for the well being of my pup! However, I interact the most with the front desk staff; they get me appointments, check me in and out, they’re the ones I talk about filling prescriptions as needed, etc. those ladies are a gem! I’ll have to give a shout out to Abby who is the one I’ve talked to the most and is so extremely caring and polite, follows through (if she says she’ll call back with an answer, she absolutely will). I only have positive things to say about this place! They’re amazing and treat my puppy so well every time!

What a quality operation! Don’t know how they do it but the place exudes compassion and care. The staff is the key. “Beso,” our beloved pup for over 12 years and 5 countries had reached the end of his life and Clarendon Animal Care took the best care of us. They then provided a special pawprint plaque and his ashes. What is, by far, an example of their extra care, they later sent us a hand written condolences card in the mail! Wish I had taken photos of the place but here was Beso in his better days.

I have to give them 5 stars because they (especially Dr. Ungerer and Gloor) saved my little man’s life when he got leptospirosis several years ago. They are a little bit pricier than the typical vets office but they know what they are doing and seem to be really on top of it with diagnostics. That said, because of there skill with diagnosing things properly- they usually don't try to run up your bill with unnecessary tests- so it might actually save you money in the long run to go here. The staff are great and I’ve always been pleased with the care all their Vets and Vet Techs give. Front desk people are kind and helpful as well.

Dr. Valentine is my dog’s favorite vet we’ve had. She listens to my concerns, but also makes my dog Thor feel so comfortable and at ease during vet visits as he can get stressed out by them. I highly recommend Clarendon Animal Care for those who have pets who have struggled with vet visits in the past because my dog walks out tail wagging and getting treats/pets from the front desk staff as well!

I cannot say enough good things about this vet! The staff is phenomenal, makes its super easy and low stress for our puppy and for us! They are very responsive over email to our many (first time dog parent) questions. They've been just incredibly wonderful with everything

I rarely write reviews but I was just thinking yesterday after our appointment about how lucky we are to have such a great vet. Chance gets anxious easily as he did during yesterday's thunderstorm and they always handle it so well. He's really warmed up to the place so much so that he tries to go in the door every time we pass by. The staff is always really helpful and kind when we call in with questions. We've had Dr. McCroy, Dr. Gottlieb, and Dr. Plough and all three were kind, competent, and easy to talk to. They have all been really helpful at answering our concerns and giving advice regarding Chance's weight loss journey. They have always run on time when I've been there but don't rush the appointments. I seriously can't think of a bad thing to say about them. Highly recommend.

I have been to many vets in my life and even the very good ones don't compare in the slightest with the genuine warmth and loving care your pet will experience at CAC. I am blown away by the both the professionalism and kindness of the staff here. The vet herself even followed up a few days later after some routine procedures just to see how my pup was doing. It gave me such a warm fuzzy feeling I had to come here and write about it. And they are affordable too! Clarendon Animal Care is a dream come true for any pet parent.

Love CAC! The best vet in NOVA! Or dog loves going to visit so much, that everyone we walk by, he tries to stop. They always put my dogs safety and comfort first and I know he’s getting there best care possible.

It was our first time here with our very anxious and reactive rescued dog. I can't speak highly enough of the professionalism of everyone we have dealt with. Whenever I emailed or called, I felt like I was listened to, and everyone went out of their way to make sure our dog was as comfortable as possible. They were patient, calm, offered him treats, accommodated his high strung personality as much as they could. We're definitely staying with this place. Thank you.

Clarendon Animal care is phenomenal. We are new to the area, and our dog was becoming sick. Based on their reviews and very reasonable appt fee, I took our boy in. He had strange symptoms, nothing we could pin point. The staff was so sweet, the rooms are very cozy for the pets and their humans, and the soft music and dog treats made our Dog feel at home. They were accommodating and helpful when it came to cost. I was shocked when they called to follow up, sent emails, and truly cared about how he was doing, if he was improving and making recommendations. They are organized and amazing! We love them and wont go anywhere else.

Been going to CAC (Dr. Plough) for about 3 years, and we love it! They don't rush, and do everything they can to make anxious dogs comfortable throughout their appointments.

When I tell you it has been a task trying to find a vet, you have no idea. I was able to schedule my dogs intake and have her appointment within two weeks of my request. The facilities are very well maintained and the staff are very friendly and professional. I know it’s a great visit when the vet sees my dog while sitting on the floor with her. They truly live up to their “Fear Free” motto. I thank them for a wonderful appointment and I hope to have an amazing vet experience with them in the future. Fingers crossed!

I don't normally write reviews but everything about this place was far beyond my expectations. The front staff was extremely quick and helpful with my time sensitive travel cert, and travel coordinator Aleigh figured out everything I needed almost immediately. The front staff was able to set me up with an appointment within a week, while all other clinics I contacted were booked out for a month and required a new pet visit BEFORE doing a health cert.

The office environment was very welcoming with a very kind front staff & MA. My pet hates the vet but he was noticeably better today, perhaps because of their 'pet calming' music and aromatherapy.

Dr. Plough was very caring and informative, I felt that her exam was more thorough than my pet has received in the past and I appreciated her diligence in making sure I got exactly what I needed for travel. They allot an entire hour for visits so there was no feeling of being rushed.

And to top it off-- the visit was far less expensive than I anticipated!

I’ve had really good experiences with each visit. I’ve seen some reviews talk about the clinic being money hungry. I think from their perspective, they care about the welfare of the animal. Their priority is definitely taking care of the pet whether you can afford it or not, which shouldn’t be their responsibility. However, with that being said, my pet has had to face some pricey procedures that were out of my budget, and I’ve asked them, before my pet underwent anything, how much the procedures would be and if there were any alternative options. They’ve respected this request each and every time and have even recommended other places I could go that was more affordable for those procedures. With that being said, I don’t think they’re money hungry. It’s up to you as the pet owner/consumer to do your due diligence. The staff is there to help, they’re extremely kind, and take time to listen to your concerns without dismissing you, and they try to give the best possible solution that fits your needs and your pet’s needs! It’s easy to get in touch with staff and they follow up with you to check in on your pets as if it were their own.

Took our newly adopted 4 year old dog for his first appointment today and had an amazing experience. Great facility and wonderful staff. Dr. Fitzgerel was so helpful and caring. We can’t wait to keep bringing our boy to Clarendon Animal Care!

Clarendon Animal Care is the best vet I've ever visited and I cannot recommend them enough to anyone in the area. Tech/behaviorist Alex Leslie and Dr. Gloor consistently go above and beyond caring for my dog. All staff members are extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. Their love for animals really shows in everything that they do.

The staff and facility itself are very accommodating to the special needs of all their patients. Nobody wears lab coats, and the exam rooms are all equipped with soft rugs, anti-anxiety pheromones, relaxing music, and loads of yummy treats. Even the waiting area is laid out to be accommodating to animals with behavior concerns. I've seen vets and vet techs sitting on the floor with animals for extended periods of time to ensure animals have a positive experience from the moment they walk in the door.

My dog had severe behavior issues when we adopted her. We couldn't bring her to the vet for routine care without muzzling and sedating her. Behaviorist Alex Leslie has worked diligently with us for the better part of a year to develop and execute a training and desensitization plan. After months of work, we are now able to bring our dog in for routine care muzzle-free and fear-free.

Five stars for LVT Alex Leslie, Dr. Gloor, and the entire CAC team. I highly recommend CAC to anyone in need of veterinary or behavioral care. They have been a life saver for us.

We love Clarendon Animal Care! We have relocated out of state, but for the past 4 years, they provided personalized, loving, care to both of my pets. Their vets and technicians are all animal lovers, it's easy to tell! And they genuinely cared for my animals over the years. They removed teeth and cysts from my grumpy old puppy, making his life easier and more comfortable toward the end of his time. They always gave the most excellent follow-up on his condition, and were thorough in post-op exams. They helped us to get our fat cat down to a healthy weight for the first time in 7 years! Now she is happier and more active. They always treated our pets like family and we are sad to say goodbye, but so happy for the care and additional time they gave us with our pets!!
