I have been dealing with this business for several months now they have always been very understanding and very cooperative and easy to work with one of the best businesses that I have been into since I have lived in the Alton area

I've been knowing Sam and his family for a little over 30 years now.. their establishment is clean.. they're friendly and welcoming and very organized! They've always had whatever I needed and the prices are reasonable. Overall, I love the family and love shopping with them.

Went in for a gold chain but couldn't afford one so I left with a guitar. Staff was friendly and went out of their way to help me

The staff at Sam’s pawnshop were very nice and helpful. They are really good at making you feel welcomed. They’re really fair with their pawns and will even give you some extra time to get them a payment on your loan if you’re needing a little more time to get paid or come up with the money, if you just call them and tell them you’re situation they’ll give you some time to get it. Also, they try to get you as close to the amount of money you want for the item/items you’re selling or pawning. However, their interest rates are a little higher than you might expect from a pawn shop but they give you 30 days from day of purchase/pawning to make the first payment, which is nice since most places usually say you have 30 days before you have to make a payment but then the date they tell you the first payment is due on is usually earlier than 30 days. Say you go on the 11th and they say you have 30 days but they say you have til the 9th of the next month before they put your item up for sale & you might have a late fee if you don’t pay them until the 11th instead of the 9th. Sam’s pawnshop isn’t like that. They say 30 days and you are there on the 13th , they don’t expect you to pay any thing until the following month on the 13th. So, far Sam’s has been one of the best pawnshops in the area. I got exactly what i wanted for my laptop and the two monitors that i sold to them. I didn’t even think they would let me pawn them , so i was happy when the lady said they would buy them. I would suggest to any and everyone looking to buy something for a reasonable price or if you’re looking to sell/pawn something for some cash to get down to Sam’s pawnshop. They even offer layaway for 3 months if you’re interested in buying something from them and you don’t have all the money. I am considering getting a firearm from them on layaway as a gift for myself and since i know that they have all these different options I don’t have to wait until i get my tax return. So, to summarize the rant i just went on, Go to Sam’s for all your pawn shop needs and you won’t be disappointed. Just remember to pay the lady or don’t act surprised when you go back and they’ve sold your stuff 🤣 because they will work with you to keep it from being sold you just have to communicate with them. They make you feel like a long time customer/friend i would even go as far to say they make you feel like family in the short time you are there. They’re good people who do good work

I really do not see how people could rate this amazing shop with anything lower than 5 stars?! This is one of the best pawn shops in the entire St. Louis area HANDS DOWN! They are very fair on their pricing, they will give you a great offer on pawns or sells.And everything they have is usually NEGOTIABLE! The entire staff is always very friendly, helpful and most certainly knowledgeable! They are my new place to go for anything firearms related because, I'm just being honest their prices can not be beat! I'd say this is the best business IN TOWN! They really make you feel not only like a friend, but family for sure! Great job guys, I will be coming back for many, many years to come!

I go there on a regular basis. They are always very courteous and willing to deal. As for the bad reviews, i don't put any stock in the words of those who won't put their name next to a review. And yes they will charge you about twice as much for an item than what they pay for it, it's not just a standard practice for pawn shops and every other retail store. They have to pay their employees very well to get them to put up with people who have NO idea what a profit margin is.

Always a great experience shopping here. They sell everything from drums to games, leaf blowers to horse saddles, so it's very likely you'll find what you're looking for. Great prices on everything too, much better than what you'll find at any retailer.

I have bought sold and traded here always treated with respect had one misunderstanding and the employee quickly explained why with a smile. Corey is professional intelligent and fair when it comes to his firearms counter.

I read the reviews and they must be from people who want something for nothing. I have always been treated with kindness, respect, and were always fair. They will work with you, all you have to do is be honest with them.
