Somonauk Pancake House

Nicely decorated for the holidays. Met my son here to catch up after his vacation. Excellent waiter helped us with some perfect food choices and had a great sense of humor. The food was very good and the portions were good, I wasn't able to finish my meal. Prices were good to average. We weren't rushed at all. The waiter was attentive but not hanging over us. Great overall experience.

Good food, good service, friendly staff. A Wednesday afternoon was not busy, and the service was fast for delicious and inexpensive meals. Sunday morning was busy, but the service was still unexpectedly good.

I had to drop my car off at the body shop in Sandwich and after a Yelp search, Somonauk Pancake House appeared on my radar. The current owners have been here for two and a half years, but this place has been a restaurant for many many many moons. They offer very affordable specials all day long. I really enjoyed their veggie omelette, as it was nice and fluffy and flavorful. There was only one server this Monday morning and Deb was working her butt off. I'm kind of thinking when I pick my car up I just may stop in for dinner. They have three large dining areas and are good for a party or large group. They don't have a website but they often put their daily specials on their Facebook page.

Food is OUTSTANDING!!! Homemade, very reasonably priced all you can eat chicken dinners $6.95 Wednesday. The owners are very nice as is the waitstaff.

such a wonderful place to eat, REALLY GOOD food, never had anything that wasn't above my expectations... and I'm picky about where I eat, I mean I carry my own silverware (real silver), and the PEOPLE are GREAT!
picky example... buttered.. (not spred, not toasted) grilled to golden brown English muffin, and they nail it everytime!

Great meals to get: Chicken Fingers w/bbq sauce, Grilled Chicken Sandwich on French Bread, & my top pick is the Lemon Chicken dinner. Soup is fantastic also !

I didn't realize I was going to rate this restaurant or I would have snap picture BEFORE eating! I had the country fried steak and it was fantastic. Their coffee...just as good. I knew I was in the right place when I saw the full parking lot. I dealt with 3 employees while dining here and each as nice as the next. Will definitely be returning.

We just moved to area and heard this was a good diner. Not much to look at when you pull in but oh my is this a gem! The waitress Trinity always serves us and is so friendly efficient and quick. The food is comfort food at its country diner best! They cook the hasbrowns perfectly every time, the biscuits and gravy are soooo good, and they even make fresh churned butter. The prices are very reasonable. We would go more often if our waistlines could afford it. The coffees good too. Go and you won’t regret it!

Been passing this place by for quite some time until today. My loss! Although the sign may be unimpressive and the parking lot in need of sealcoating, you are warmly greeted upon entry to a cheery little local place that serves up a great plate of food. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, your pick.

Food is amazing and it comes out of the kitchen fast. Servers are very nice and it has a nice small town cafe atmosphere. Highly recommend eating here

I love a good small town breakfast joint, and the Somonauk Pancake House did not disappoint.
I went on a Sunday, it was moderately busy. I got coffee right away, and the waitress took my order shortly after. I got a corned beef hash skillet, it was great. I like eggs over medium and many places don't get that correct, but the chef here did. Pancakes instead of toast, they were smaller than I expected but were delicious. As big as the skillet was they were just enough, and quality won out over quantity.
Friendly waitstaff, excellent food, good prices, I'll be back. They also are open for dinner.

What a nice find this restaurant is. We were hungry and driving through Somonauk on our way to somewhere else. Impressed by the number of cars and trucks in the lot as we went by we turned around and gave the pancake house a chance. Middle of the day on a Monday this diner was packed. I see why. We got great service and perfectly cooked breakfasts. Good coffee too. It’s pretty clear this local establishment gets their share of business. Five stars.
