Surprisingly good! Our first time. Best Spring Rolls. Awesome Tofu Curry Rice Bowl and Sunny Side Beef Banh Mi. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Table top for two was a little small. Recommended.

Their Beef Pho was marvelous. Definitely warmed me up on a cold, Chicago Area Day🍜.

This is a cute little spot to grab a quick bite to eat. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere was very nice. I got an iced Nutella latte, but would recommend getting a different flavor or a regular latte. The coffee flavor is too strong so I didn't taste the Nutella but the coffee was delicious. I also ordered a Pork Bahn Mi and a Beef noodle bowl. The food was so fresh and the flavors were amazing. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back to try more items.

Finally there is a Vietnamese eatery to go to. Been looking for pho in the area for a while and accidentally found this counter service restaurant while waiting for Metra train to go to work. Pho was good, noodle dishes were great. Service was excellent Will definitely come back and hope this eatery survives as previous two places open in this spot did not last more than a couple years.

Second time trying Vietnamese food and very happyI did. This place is actually much better than the one I tried some time ago. I liked how clean it was and food tasted good and fresh. I had shrimp spring rolls and tofu pho bowl. It was plenty of food for about $15 but I didn’t feel like a stuffed turkey after eating all of it.

Fast service, clean and has a nice ambiance. I ordered the beef pho and I like it. I will come back again next time to try their other dishes.

The food, especially the pho and the wings, hits the spot every time. It’s the ultimate comfort food and delicious every single time. The staff are incredibly nice and very accommodating, and the restaurant itself is very cozy.

I had an enjoyable experience with this Vietnam cuisine. The food is delicious. Very tasty food, and you get plenty of it there. The place is so clean around. The staff is polite and friendly. I use this place for carry out orders mostly. I would highly recommend this place to friends and family.

Upscale modern Vietnamese restaurant with tastes tailored for western audiences. The ambient music is bright and subtle enough to be able to ignore Amtrak/Metra crossing the Northbrook stop.

I had the chicken pho, which comes with a lime wedge, some fresh bean sprouts, and some basil. Compared to Saigon Sisters over in the west loop, the soup base is traditionally fairly light but Basu's pho packs a flavorful punch in taste.

The added chicken and pho noodles were portioned well. They individually had great texture and matched well with the broth.

Amazing fresh food here. It is super filling and also very healthy. It is well suited for all ages. Food comes out quickly and also tastes very fresh. The meat is very tender with the vegetables adding a very refreshing flavor to each bite. Sauces also add in very addicting flavors with the garlic chili sauce and peanut sauce with springrolls. Coffee is also great with their viet iced coffee using Cafe du Monde. 100% must try.

My family and I love this place. It’s a great meet-for-lunch spot, and we frequently get take out food for movie nights. The food is consistently great, and everyone is very friendly. Definitely a winner!

I’ve been to Basu a couple times now and it’s a hidden gem. The sunny side banh mi is really good. Pho and a banh mi shared between two was more than enough! I love Vietnamese iced coffee so I’d even go to Basu just for that honestly. Kind staff and a great nook of an area where you can enjoy good food while watching the trains pass by! Only good things to say about this place! :)
