Great store with great service. I purchased a Stihl 251 chainsaw, but once home I couldn’t start it :-(. Came back and they showed me how I probably flooded it…and then we did get it to start…but it takes a real good pull, and I knew it would be too much of a hassle down the line. So I decided to return it, and they processed it without a complaint in literally 30 seconds. Great service always, even when the sale doesn’t work out. Will do more research and find an alternative that’s easier to start….and if they sell it will definitely buy from them.

One more thing…even the owner got involved to make sure I was satisfied with the service…wow. Special shout out to Jeffrey for great no pressure help.

As I have left on reviews of other Ace Hardwares this is still a great place to find that oddball thing you won’t find elsewhere. Want to buy new rubber feet for your 1980s Apple ii computer, locally? Ace Hardware Northbrook has you covered! It never ceases to amaze me how something like this can be carried in stock locally. Well done!

About a month ago went to Northbrwook Ace Hardware with problem with auto key fob malfunctioning. Worked with Jeff who first checked battery which was OK. He indicated he had seen this before and then took the key fob apart, found some dust and dirt on circuit board and contacts, cleaned these areas up and put it all back together. Fob has been working well ever since. Spent 15 minutes working with me, saved me from having to get a new fob (which are more expensive than you think). Have been going to this location for more than twenty years and will keep coming back.

The gentleman at Ace was very helpful and knowledgeable. I found what I was looking for and then some. Ace has a big inventory of Christmas and Holiday decorations, as well as everyday items and gifts. The young man at the register was polite and personable. Ace is located in a large shopping area, and parking was not a problem.

Rick has been personally helping me for over 15 years! You won't find that one to one service at Home Depot!!!!! A simply wonderful, neighborhood hardware store!

Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable! They embody what hardware stores were, prior to giant box stores. They carry a variety of seasonal items, so a great place for gift ideas.

I also did not mean to leave 4 stars. My only feedback about this ACE, which is my favorite, is that the middle aisles are cluttered so its hard to navigate. Staff is excellent.

They do have the best prices and they have EVERYTHING. I mean.. everything. Even utilizing the parking lot for seasonal items like plants, which also often go on sale. Lowes cannot compete. Period.

Had a significant issue, which threatened my long stand patronage. After complaining here, I received a letter via US Mail from the owner explaining the situation and remediation.

After a great conversation with Ron the owner. I decided to remove the poor review I had written. Being in business today is not easy. Ron was not only a gentleman but genuinely sincere about the concern I had raised. Sometimes all it takes is communication. Thanks Ron you will be seeing me soon.

I bought an expensive Big Green Egg grill there and 2 years later it broke. Brad at Ace helped me process the warranty with the manufacturer and stayed on top of it until a replacement was delivered. Customer service here is ten times better than Home Depot of Lowes, so if you can find it at Ace, go to Ace.

We went here to buy Christmas lights and found it to be great. The staff was super helpful and the prices were very reasonable especially compared to the bigger chain stores. Ended up buying a lot more than Christmas lights and will come back again

Ace almost always has what I want and often a few surprises, such a real Corian plates and bowls and glass fingernail files. The store supports local charitable activities in several ways. They are a strong downtown business.

The people at this location are very friendly and helpful.
