Greene Valley

Some fantastic walks through Mother Nature await. The White Oak trail loop is gorgeous this time of year. Very peaceful. I also enjoy parking near the dog park area, then take the regional trail south across 75th. You can stay on the regional trail or hang a Louie on Valley trail. Either way results in a cool 2 mile loop through prairie!

The path is nice and well maintained. Even with recent rain the limestone path is not "muddy"

I'm leaving this review as a teacher who took kindergarten students here! The forest preserve provided an hour long guided tour that explored the forest through the senses, and it was excellent! The students really enjoyed the visit, and we were also allowed an hour to explore some of the shorter trails. We even saw a raccoon in a tree (which is all the students talked about!) There are only rough bathroom facilities, but we still enjoyed a beautiful fall day here!

My dogs always have a great time here; when you go in the spring thru fall there are plenty of great doggie-blazed trails through all the brush in the middle. There's also huge open spaces for them to run out their energy, and a trail for humans to walk with their dogs. Most of the people who come here are also very considerate and pick up after their dogs.

Beautiful walking trails wide enough to safely pass others in opposite direction. Easy to follow trail maps. Well groomed. Beautiful scenery and fall colors! Large parking lots.

Great campsites and well maintained trails (5 stars). The dog park gets a little rowdy with dog owners not paying attention - we stopped going (3 stars).

The Green Valley Overlook is only open to the public from May until October on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m to 6 p.m. The Hill is 190 feet high and was originally a landfill but it is now retired. When the visibility is good you can see the Chicago skyline all the way from Naperville. It is usually very windy on the top of the hill (If you are planning a picnic or flying a kite come prepared). The best times to go are usually during the fall when all the trees are changing or middle of the summer on a sunny day.

Beautiful limestone trails with some elevation. We took our family for a bike ride. Everyone had a good time. The trails are well marked and was a perfect distance for kids. Beautiful vistas.

I love this park and so my dog. There are bag dispensers. Has a really good size fenced park. And owners are pretty nice.

Great forest preserve for a relaxing walk on a beautiful spring day! Did the White Oak Trail for about 2.7 miles. Took about an hour on the well groomed trail. No leaves yet so not much shade and not a lot of wildlife, just some birds. There was enough parking and a porta-potty for bathrooms.

A preserve with a ton of walking paths and a few campsites. It is mostly flat making it a fairly easy hike. Like with most of the DuPage preserves, its under constant management to improve and maintain! Ephemerals are already popping up. Unfortunately even though they can be beautiful some are non-native like the 2 below!

What a beautiful dog park! We love the short hike loop around the area, and our pup loves exploring the prairie off leash.

Great place for walks, runs, and other trail activities. Main loop trail is a little under 3 miles, and there are a couple other trails that you can mix and match together. The main loop goes in and out of forest and open grass, with some gentle elevation change throughout.

The Thunderbird parking lot (west side, off of 79th St) is usually less crowded than the South lot off of Greene, but neither gets too full most of the time.

It's a great place for biking. The paths are well maintained and the gravel is good with hybrid bike tires.

Lovely walking paths through both prairie and forest. There is ample parking and a clean port-a-pot for one's convenience.
You could walk just about as long or as short as you desire 😉

My dog loves this park. Beautiful trail and lots of dogs to play with. Well worth the price of the permit!

The park was perfect for my furry friend. The fence was kept up and there was plenty of doggy bag dispensers through out the park. My boy loved it

Been here every morning for 2 months straight. Great deer and coyote sightings and plenty of great birds to spy.

Nice trails. They are well marked. Road through with my street bike without issue. Got to see someone out on their horse. You can drive there and park then walk the trails.
