I go there for the breakfasts, my wife loves the soups. The skillets are fantastic, I've eaten at almost every restaurant in Waukegan, Zion, and Kenosha. And quite a few in Libertyville and Racine. El Lago stands Head and shoulders above almost all of the restaurants I've eaten at as far as breakfasts go. Their skillets have amazing flavor, and, I will share this. I had gotten an emergency call to pick up our granddaughter right after we ordered food. My wife stayed, I had to leave and get her, I came back an hour later. They made me a whole new breakfast because mine was cold. At no charge! They didn't have to, but they did. That sold me on them forever.

I LOVE this place! My favorite Mexican restaurant to eat at and go there for lunch so often! Food is so amazingly tasting and low priced too!

This place was awesome! We walked in at 10 min til 7 and they were only doing carry out but they seated us anyway!! They were fast and courteous too!! Rating them 5 stars because that's how it's done!!! Treating your customers right!!

This is a great place to just have breakfast or maybe a late lunch. The prices are reasonable. Staff was friendly also. I didn't give the atmosphere five stars because really it's just no frills restaurant. I can recommend the ham and cheese omelette and pancakes.

I went in to order take out only , But while waiting inside I noticed how nice and comfortable El Lago is and the Staff was very friendly and my order was ready in a reasonable amount of time. The food was delicious and plentiful. I had the Mini Chimichangas and a chorizo's Torta Yummmm and next time that I'm in town I'm eating inside.

I’m so happy to find this amazing little Mexican food restaurant. The Pozole rivals the best in Mexico. Very courteous service, clean, and fast too. 🤗😋🤗

Food is always good & fresh. I love the weekend for Pazole & if you like Menudo, you can get it on weekends.I always get a Pazole quart to go yumm

Been here several times for lunch & dinner. Fresh tortilla chips served with cheese sauce & salsa for your pre order are really good. Tamales with rice and beans dinner is tasty & the mini chimi-chongas are delightful. I got a big container of Pazoli to go & they serve it with the chopped cabbage and radish for garnish. (Pazole & Manolo are only available on the weekends) lovin the Pazole

Very friendly staff! Best pozole around, there are actual meat chunks. Love that they give you cheese with the chips.

This place is awesome. From the chips, salsa and queso brought as you sit down to the great quality and quantity of meals for the best prices. The service is fast and friendly.

Waitress was nice, food was freash. Over all experience was really great.
