After trying a few vets for our anxious dogs, the team at VCA Aurora has been such a blessing. We and our kiddos feel so well cared for here!

We initially came to the ER after a scare with a bloody bowel movement, and they were so sweet and loving with our little one and explained everything they were doing so well to us. Dr Curran and her team were superheroes looking after her over night and calling us with updates every chance she got.

After such a great experience with their whole staff we decided to make VCA Aurora our full time vet and couldn’t be happier with the general care team.

Dr Meadows, Nick, and the techs are all so thoughtful and really put our girls at ease. We really feel like they care!

I brought my 8yr old pittie in after a devastating bone cancer diagnosis. Dr. Peacock was sympathetic and was very thorough in explaining our options. We decided to amputate his leg and the staff as well as Dr. Peacock took great care of my pal, Hawk. He is doing great and I cannot thank the staff at VCA enough!!!

I had brought my puppy Kash in who was very sick. After going to 4 different hospitals, I had called this place. They took us in right away. After about a hour, I was able to speak to the doctor who then told me he had parvo after running a couple blood tests. Kelly who helped Kash was very sweet and after he received treatment he was back to normal in less than a week. I highly recommend this place. The staff are amazing and price wise is very reasonable. Thank you for saving my baby boy!!

I have four dogs so I had to split up their wellness exams. Both GP doctors and their techs were amazing. They took great care in making sure my pets were calm and comfortable for both vaccines and blood draws. Lots of treats, sweet voices and a ton of head pats. Love the team here would recommend them always.

We would like to say that Dr. Simpson and his staff in the dermatologist department are the best!! They took care of our little min-pin Cocoa for the last few years. Cocoa was 15 years old and recently passed away. She was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease approximately 4 years ago. We almost lost her then. Our last hope was Dr. Simpson. He and his staff were always so good with her. She didn't mind going there at all. With their help and expertise we had our little girl an extra 4 years. She had her ups and downs and Dr. Simpson was always on top of things. They were always knowledgeable and ready to help.
We just can't thank Dr. Simpson and his staff enough. Any time we called his staff would get back to us quickly and were always eager to help. They would send text messages checking in on her to see how she was doing especially with any medication changes. That was so helpful and meant so much to us. Our little girl Cocoa was our baby and we wanted her to have the best care possible and we got it.
A big thank you to Dr. Simpson and his staff. You're the best!!

I have seen both the internal medicine specialists and primary care here so far. They all did a great job. Yes it's expensive but they offer many services others do not and what isn't these days. They properly diagnosed my fur baby when others could not. He would of died if they didn't catch it like they did. I'm a people nurse and I wish they could be my doctor too 😂.

Edit 4/4/24 We are back at vca for cancer now. I'm not sure who to talk to but someones dog pooped all over the sidewalk today (it was not diarrhea). I notified the staff. They just said ok and all looked at each other. Another client was there and said it's been sitting there for at least 6 hours. We left and came back about 2 hours later. It was still there and multiple staff walked right by. This is very gross as it was all over the sidewalk near the entrance and not one staff could pick it up. Poop is full of germs and my dog is on chemo and I find this unacceptable.

We had a great experience bringing our Doberman puppy last night due to broken leg and poor fitting splint placed by a previous doctor.
We appreciated the ER vet who spoke with us in much detail regarding the injury and what needs to be done. She even spent extra time giving us advice about our dog breed that weren’t in relation to our visit.

Our animals are like our children, and I trust this staff 100% with mine!

They saved our dog! We are so grateful to VCA Aurora.
We went on vacation and brought our dog to a boarder at her house. While at the boarder’s house, our dog was fed high fat table food that she doesn’t normally eat, and was extremely sick when we came home. Our regular vet told us our dog had pancreatitis from the fatty foods and was too sick for them to treat. They told us our options were either to send her to VCA to get intensive care treatment or put her down. We decided to take her to VCA and after spending 4 days in 24 hour care, she was able to come home. The doctors were very knowledgeable and kept us in the loop with twice daily phone calls. We felt they truly cared for the wellbeing of our dog and were sympathetic to our situation. She is now doing great and back to her normal self! We could not be happier with our experience at VCA Aurora.

Thanks to Dr. Middleton, the Internal Medicine team, and also the Emergency team at VCA Aurora, our cat is still with us today. After a diagnostic procedure to find out what had been causing some issues with our kitty, she got extremely sick with an infection and it quickly became a life or death situation. The team got her in right away and Dr. Middleton truly dedicated herself to saving our baby. This was an unexpected and heartbreaking situation, and she and her team really made themselves available for us throughout her whole recovery process. They maintained regular communication with status updates and plans of action. They also were very kind about our visits twice a day while our cat was staying there receiving care and our frequent questions throughout her recovery. It was a vulnerable time for us, so my husband and I really appreciated the compassion and care they showed to us as well as our kitty. They did also identify and address the root cause of the initial problem with our cat and we are thankful that it turned out to be something that is treatable. We are very grateful for the care that Dr. Middleton and her team provided and will always have a special place in our hearts for them.

Really good experience for our first after hours, “emergency” vet visit. Our dog ripped a nail off and it wouldn’t stop bleeding, on a Saturday night, of course. Drove out to VCA at about 7:30pm and they were able to take him back right away, and do a tech visit to get him cleaned up, bandaged, etc. I was in and out in less than an hour and under $100. Thank you!

Big thank you to Daniel, Dr Dibadj & the other caring staff last night for taking such good care of Cash! It’s never fun to visit an emergency vet, but it’s especially hard when your pup is super reactive & fear aggressive. They handled everything like absolute pros, with such kindness & compassion. Sticker shock is always there when you have an emergency room visit, but we felt that we received excellent care & Dr Dibadj did a wonderful job on the suturing. Thank you!

My dog Riley was run over by a hit and run driver in the Springfield Illinois country December 2021.. His hip broken and other lacerations that a local veterinarian was able to attend, promptly! It was determined that Riley needed hip surgery. Being that was Christmas and the fact that all the area Vets, UIC and St. Luis were on waiting list.
I contacted VCA Aurora Said bring him in we can help! 175 miles later…The facility was amazing! I’ve never seen a actual animal hospital. If you have not And love your pet . Take a tour ! The Staff was super helpful and concerned about my dog. Dr. Peacock,Riley’s attending ,came out and sat with me. He told me my options, the history of the different options and what he recommended for Riley. Also recommended a lesser cost affordable way. Thank you!
Riley continues to recover at a remarkable pace and Pet owner therapy.
My opinion; VCA did a awesome job at this facility from start to finish! Even after a followup trip and phone contact to see how he is doing. His expected recovery by the way was targeted for July 2022. Riley is almost recovered to full stride as of today! Pics uploaded!

Thanks VCA and Dedicated Staff

We had our senior 176 pound mastiff mix treated here for a possible obstruction. They loved him and cared for him as if he were their own. He had to spend the night and they informed us and let us make all the decisions and were very clear on the costs of each step. Highly recommend. This boy is my life and I was initially so nervous to leave him in the hands of other people. But they treated him so well and took such good care of him. Thank you so much!!!

“My sincere hope is that you don’t ever find yourself in need of a veterinary oncologist, but if you do then my family and I would highly recommend Dr. Hannah Able at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital.

Dr. Able possesses a depth of knowledge on both the industry standard chemo options as well as the more cutting-edge options for cases where the normal path doesn’t work. From day one, we were given a professional opinion on what was the best route, but we were always made to feel that the final decision was ours to make. We have full confidence that our little Oreo survived because of the choice we made in working with Dr. Able. They performed a thorough exam of my dog on every visit and explained everything clearly. Appointments were on time and we did not have to wait long at check in or check out. All records were quickly forwarded to me.

Secondarily, the entire staff treated our family – both human and canine – with a profound sense of dignity and respect whenever we were in the office, making appointments, or during phone calls. The dedicated and experienced staff will guide you and your pet along the difficult journey and make you feel at ease. They answered all our questions and treated our pet with respect. The staff at VCA would always greet you with a smile, some sweet talk to any and all animals who walked in the door. We were never made to feel like our boy was ‘just another dog’ and we are truly grateful for the warmth and compassion with which we were treated. This was overall an exemplary group of men and women to work with during what was a long and at times challenging process.

We are very happy with the care we and our pet received and would gladly recommend them to anyone else needing specialty care for their pet in a similar situation. One thing, GET PET INSURANCE.

Almost a year ago, our boy Ralph developed a partial tear in his ACL. Due to his size, our primary vet could not do the repair and referred us to VCA. I have only taken my dog here once for what I felt was an emergency and had a decent experience.

I first met with Dr Corrie and her tech. They did an exam on Ralph and reviewed his X-rays. Instead of going straight to surgery, since Ralph was still walking and didn’t seem to be in pain, she said no rush or need to do surgery right then and there. I appreciated that because I felt like she was treating him honestly rather than having us do surgery right away. I always enjoy doing the conservative route first.

Eventually, Ralph needed TPLO because he was limping more and his leg was getting atrophied because of the lack of muscle use. I called VCA and they were promptly able to get his surgery scheduled.

The staff has been so wonderful and communicative. I talked a few times with the surgery coordinator and any questions I asked she responded right away and even emailed me some requests I had.

They called me when Ralph was going into surgery and Dr Corrie called me when she was done operating.

I received updates that night on how Ralph was doing, and it warmed my heart to hear that they thought Ralph was “such a sweet boy”. The tech even explained that Ralph was a little disoriented when he woke up, so she laid with him and covered him in blankets, which is his favorite thing. I almost cried because I thought it was so sweet!

Come the following Monday, they called me and wanted to see how Ralph was doing. I appreciated that.

The surgery team has been so wonderful. I would highly recommend their specialist and the techs.

I’ve been taking Luigi to the VCA for all of his 6 years now. Staff is Great! Luigi is not good at getting shots, they take great care in making his experience the least stressful. Highly recommend!

VCA today scanned a found lovely, very nice German Shepherd and provided info and advice. Free of charge! A chip was found but not registered thus no owner info. Just a serial number of no use. A microchip is not a GPS. Needs to be registered. I scheduled appointment next week for rabies shot. Dog is up for adoption. Approx 3 years of age. Thank you very much VCA.

I cannot thank VCA Aurora Animal Hospital enough for their knowledgeable and compassionate care of my cat, Tinkerbell.

We have been seeing Dr. Able in oncology for Tinkerbell's care recently because of a tumor that was discovered in her neck. Dr. Able and her coordinator April have been SO wonderful. Dr. Able is extremely knowledgeable and honest about the likelihood of the tumor being a cancer, which types of cancer are more likely in cats and potential treatment options once the diagnosis was confirmed. They have helped guide me through the best options to get a diagnosis, which we now have. Dr. Able even called me on her way to a vet oncology conference from the airport to discuss test results and next steps, which was above and beyond and so appreciated. A diagnosis of cancer in a beloved pet is so scary and anxiety provoking and Dr. Able and April have been so helpful through this time.

Recently, Tinkerbell has been recovering from tumor removal surgery and she was not acting right overnight. After being turned away from a local emergency vet that thought her fever was due to stress, I knew something more was wrong and I took her to VCA Aurora Emergency Room and they quickly triaged her and got her evaluated and cared for. I chose to take her home on antibiotics, but she worsened the next day and I had to bring her back on a busy Saturday afternoon. Again the staff in the emergency room was so diligent in getting her triaged and back to be evaluated immediately. She ended up staying in the ICU on IV antibiotics and fluids and is now home doing much better!! They saved my cat's life!!

While Tinkerbell was back getting evaluated and cared for, I was in the waiting room. I watched numerous anxious and scared pet owners bring in their ill animals and I was very impressed with how the VCA emergency team worked together to triaged and help all these sick animals. Yes there was a long wait for me in the waiting room while my cat was being cared for and tests were being done, but that is completely understandable because they were treating so many sick animals, some of which had very urgent issues.

I am a physician for humans and I can tell by observing in the waiting room of the ER that they provided exceptional care to all the animals and their owner's who came in during a very busy Saturday afternoon/evening. The techs and vets and receptionists worked so well together and I could tell they were all trying their best to help the pets and comfort the owners.

I hope pet owner's never find themselves in a situation that they need emergency or specialty care for their pet, but if they do, I would absolutely recommend VCA Aurora. I am thankful they exist and so grateful for the care they have provided my cat.

A great experience all around. The staff here was fantastic and I wish I could remember all of their names to give them all kudos. VCA was able to get us in ASAP after our dog’s diagnosis, where other clinics would not help us or make appointments months in advance when time was key. Dr. Voss was amazing and took a lot of time to go over everything in detail and our options. Hailey was also great and we appreciate everything!

I had an emergency that did not end well with my young cat. They provided phenomenal care and put forth amazing effort to try and save her. They were completely professional and caring as I came in and decided for euthanasia. For those giving bad reviews about cost, I do not believe you understand how much work vets/vet techs put forth and how little they are actually paid and that medical equipment/meds are expensive. These are elements that cannot be helped. The care they put forth is worth the money to save a life. Thank you for your time and effort. I am very sad at the loss of my beloved cat but appreciate the help I/she was provided.
