Every one of the staff I dealt with in the ER were absolutely outstanding! They all were so friendly and supportive. Of course some wait time, after all it is an ER and I would hope most serious patients come first. Thank you everyone for your help and support.

I don’t understand why there is so many bad reviews, I literally had the best experience here at the emergency room and the hospital. My 20 month old was treated and cared for so well. I would highly recommend this emergency room. Special thanks to the team written on the board below. You guys were amazing

I had a great experience with a nurse at 14b in the emergency department at kent. It was busy and crazy but she showed compassion and professionalism with a sense of humor. The patient had an eye issue and the entire staff was friendly and compassionate. Even know we were there a long time it was a pleasant experience due to staff. Right down to the guards who checked us in. ❤

We had the best care and treatment from the staff. No complaints, it is a very busy hospital with people with assorted issues. I have nothing but respect for those who are still kind after all the trauma they see daily.

My daughter experienced a life threatening emergency and may not have survived but for the capable and caring doctors, nurses and staff of Bayhealth Emergency and Trauma Center. We will be forever grateful to them!

Great service and staff

Well, the nearly 4 hour wait time wasn't exactly pleasant but I'm guessing they're understaffed since I saw the same nurse on Monday afternoon and then again on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 7am when I returned for my follow ups. She even recognized me both times lol. When the FNP, Sintia, got to me she was right on top of it and knew exactly what to do. It was a bit of a waiting game but she handled the procedure with no issues and minimal pain and she let me keep it light during the initial visit and both follow-ups. She's the MVP of the entire experience.

I went to Bayhealth ER twice this week for bad abdominal pain that ended up being kidney stones (ugh). My first ER visit was awful. There didn’t appear to be any other patients waiting (it was 4am), but it still took nearly an hour for me to get any pain relief medication. When the doctor (don’t know his name) came in to see me, he stood in the doorway and was very stand-offish. His instructions were unclear and he sent me on my way after very strong pain meds.

I didn’t want to return a second time, but I am so glad I did. I had a MUCH better experience tonight. The RN David was very nice and attentive and Dr. Hawley was awesome! She made sure I was feeling OK, understood what I needed to do next, and answered all of my questions. It really makes a difference who is working! The facility itself was clean and nice.

Staff was exceptionally friendly but the wait was horrible, especially for midday during the week. After waiting 3 hours to have my 16 month old seen, I decided to leave after checking with reception and being told it would be at least another 2 hours. As I was visiting family in the area, I left early and drove my son to our regular hospital in VA where he was seen in under 45 minutes. Unless this is your absolute last resort and you have all day to spend in the er, I wouldn’t recommend this facility.

Looked like there was old vomit on my seat in our room and the floors were disgusting. Looked like it wasn't cleaned between patients. Nice nurse though.

I took my baby to the ER who is a preemie currently has bronchiolitis and has a very bad rash and marks that keep appearing on his face. My child has been vomiting and having really bad diarrhea. I was told that i was lying about how my child was getting marks on his face. I was racially profiled for coming to this hospital at 1am in the morning and not combing my hair coming in with night clothes on all because i put my child’s health in front of my appearance. I have never felt so belittled in my life. This hospital staff treated me like a homeless person made me wait 9 hours to get a room and once in the room a nurse brought me a phone and said someone would like to speak to You i was so confused and when i said hello the words that was stated hurt/cut me so deep she said that she worked for the state and that she received information about the welfare of my child . They asked me to do a psychiatric mental exam because a nurse reported possible abuse, and wanted to see if i was mentally stable. As a black woman if you have children please think twice about bringing your child to Kent general. They are not for us . I’ve always heard horror story’s about Kent General and how they treat African American people but i experienced it first hand on this night, why would i mistreat/harm my infant child, the same child i begged and prayed to God to heal and make healthy as he laid in the nicu for 3 months. I prayed and slept over my child’s incubator every day/night never missed a night in the nicu and you accuse me of abuse . If you love your children please don’t risk them
Being taken all because someone doesn’t like the color of your skin. DFS has been very understanding. I understand that children get abused but for a person to call and make a false report all because of my appearance is wrong their needs to be more training on when to report. I will be going to the board . This is just a short break down but she will be held accountable for the lies she told . I’m a great mother and the report will show that she lied when everything is complete. I thank God for the strength cause right now I’m hurt I’m not even angry I’m hurt that this is what being black at Kent General gets you. Be careful please.

I asked could my child get pedialyte she pretended she forgot twice while her and another nurse sat gossiping about a guy who the cop brought in for drug testing laughing at him, so unprofessional. This wasn’t even a busy night at the er like usual. I watched people get to the beach who had just got in as well

This hospital is sooo poorly ran and understaffed! With that being said their staff are extremely nice, makes me feel so bad for them. My daughter had a severe ear infection and 102 fever and we came in around 11pm. As I waited I noticed everybody around me has been waiting since noon to mid afternoon! The waiting room was full and that was just the people I spoke to around me! I get waiting but noon and it was 11pm?!? That is insane! My daughter was so miserable as soon as I heard that after an hour of waiting I didn’t even chance it and left to Milford! In the hour I was there only one person was called back. There is no way I would have made my daughter wait there that long feeling as sick as she was. There is a reason I took her to the ER! If you’re that busy Instead of telling people you will get them back as soon as you can, have the decency to warn them the waits are crazy long so they have a chance of being treated elsewhere!

My son (3 months) hit his head and was there well over an hour with no one entering. This is by far the most unpleasant and slowest ER I’ve ever had the misfortune of needing the services of. If I could rate 0 stars or even negative stars I would

Came into the ER around 6pm, went to fast track around 9pm, never seen a Dr, no vitals were rechecked and still waiting and it's 12:29am the next day. Someone mentioned it was a 20hr wait last week. This is horrible and unacceptable. Fast track is just another waiting room.

Unless you come here on a stretcher in a life or limb threatening condition, just go to urgent care, see a specialist or call your PCP's on call line. If you can drive here, don't go. The photo of the shower curtain is accurate. People are right, staff is friendly. On my way out, with no care (had only been triaged and stuck behind a curtain in the "back room") I saw doctors (and maybe nurses) sitting there watching me leave.

If I could give 0 Stars I would. We came in at 8AM, it’s 1:10PM & we are still here. Everybody that came in afterwards got helped first. We were one of the first people in. My friend & I, We’ve been waiting 5 hours for stitches needed on her scalp that she hasn’t even gotten yet. There is no reason why everyone that came after us already got everything they needed done and left. Update it is 2:54 and we are still here. Nurses went around to check on people, no one checked on us, just can’t by and closed our curtain.

The wait in the Emergency Room was made intolerable for us and many others as the medical staff never comes out to share information. The poor reception person could only shuttle back and forth between the staff and patients.I understand the concept of triage but this was more like benign neglect. There was an elderly person and his adult son in the waiting room waiting for a bed, his catheter needed to be changed and despite the pleas from the adult son, no one ever came out to talk to them. That hurts.

There was another older woman waiting for a bed who was “parked” in the waiting area by staff and struggled to get to the bathroom. Her gait was unsteady and I thought she might fall. Is that the role of the receptionist or the security person? I don’t think so.

The feeling here is just so wrong.

You guys can do better! It’s not that the medical staff is bad. Rather the management is poor. The ethos that causes people to feel that they are regarded and cared for is missing. I’ve read the reviews and it’s not about talking to a “patient advocate.” It’s about management doing better.

This is not an emergency room. This Bayhealth medical center emergency is more like a death trap for everything that feels sick and come in here.

We arrived by 9pm and is going to 3am as we still awaiting a doctor to come and check my son. The child is on my lap sleeping as am seated in a chair very uncomfortable.

If this is how an emergency room experience is in the state of Delaware, I regret that I might just die in my house and not come to this place at all.
