The office staff and techs at Hawthorne were very friendly and accommodating. Of course Dr. Kilby is a wonderful person whose love of animals is always apparent, and reputation for being a fine veterinarian has followed her throughout her career. I first fell under her spell in St. Louis where she was a member of the Kirkwood Animal Hospital practice where she was highly regarded by hundreds of clients and their fur babies. I am very happy to have reconnected with her in Bloomington once again and Hawthorne Park where once again my newest cat, Keepher, received personal and top notch medical care. I give the Hawthorne Park practice 10 MEOWS!

Every veterinarian here, tech and front desk workers have always been so kind. I’ve been taking my lab here since he was 6 weeks old and everyone has truly been so caring, understanding and patient with my questions. My dog loves coming to the vet, even when he’s sick! I used to be so anxious bringing him in because of how excited and jumpy he gets, but they make him feel so comfortable and give him lots of love! Highly recommend.

I was very pleased with my first visit to Hawthorne Park Animal Center. I recently relocated from Springfield to Bloomington, IL. I liked Dr. Kramer's demeanor and interest in meeting each of my Boston Terriers. The exams were thorough and well explained. Having an aging dog (9+), I want to be informed of possible signs of pain or discomfort. Dr. Kramer understood my concerns and I feel will be a great advocate for my Elsa and little Halo.

I recently had an incredible experience at Hawthorne Park Animal Care, where Dr. Kramer provided exceptional care for my beloved pet Coco during a crucial time. Coco needed an urgent C-section procedure, and Dr. Kramer's expertise and compassion made all the difference in bringing Coco's adorable baby boy, Baki, into this world safely.

From the moment we arrived at the clinic, the staff at Hawthorne Park Animal Care demonstrated professionalism and a genuine love for animals. They made sure Coco and I felt welcomed, reassuring us that we were in capable hands. The clinic itself was clean, well-maintained, and had a soothing atmosphere, which helped alleviate any anxiety we had.

Dr. Kramer's knowledge and skill were evident throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain the procedure to me in detail, addressing my concerns and making sure I felt comfortable with the upcoming surgery. His expertise and confidence were incredibly reassuring, and I knew Coco was in the best possible care.

During the C-section, Dr. Kramer and his team displayed remarkable efficiency, ensuring Coco's safety while delivering her precious baby boy, Baki. The procedure went smoothly, and I couldn't have asked for a more positive outcome. Dr. Kramer's dedication and attention to detail were truly commendable.

Post-surgery, Dr. Kramer's care didn't stop. He provided thorough aftercare instructions and ensured Coco was recovering well. Dr. Kramer's passion for his work was evident in the genuine concern he showed for Coco's well-being. He patiently answered all my questions and offered valuable advice to ensure Coco's complete recovery.

It's also extremely important to note that post-surgery, my partner, my Coco, and I have no idea what we were doing. We were struggling and called in multiple times a day, almost every day for a week. The entire staff knew who I was at that point. Regardless, they were extremely helpful and efficient. The team gave the best advice and tapped Dr.Kramer whenever needed.
The cost of the procedure was fairly priced but I raved to all of my family and friends because I wasn't only paying for a quick procedure by a vet and his techs. I paid for their time and energy pre-op, during op, and post-op.

I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am to Dr. Kramer and the entire team at Hawthorne Park Animal Care. Their dedication, expertise, and compassion made a challenging and stressful time much easier for both Coco and me. Thanks to them, Coco and Baki are healthy, happy, and thriving.

If you're looking for a veterinary clinic that combines top-notch medical care with a heartfelt approach, I wholeheartedly recommend Hawthorne Park Animal Care. Dr. Kramer and his team are true professionals who go above and beyond to provide exceptional service to their patients and their owners. They truly understand the importance of the human-animal bond and treat each pet as if they were their own. We brought in our daddy dog, Appa to get a wellness check and vaccines updated because we love the team!

Thank you, Dr. Kramer, and the entire team at Hawthorne Park Animal Care, for your extraordinary care and for helping Coco and Baki through their remarkable journey. You have earned my trust and eternal gratitude.

Frankie loved his first visit everyone treated us so well. He had a reaction to his puppy vaccines and they took him right back in a reacted quickly to reverse allergic reaction. When he hears the sound of my keys he now wants to go with me to go back to the vet.

Had to bring our 1 1/2 year old poodle in for an emergency surgery. Dr. Kilby and all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They really cared about Steeler (our puppy) and treated him very well. We really appreciate Hawthorne and will certainly return in the future.

Needed a checkup for paperwork so my dogs can be in my apartment and they were able to get them in right away. Very helpful and turns out one of them had an ear infection that needed to be treated. A quick process that went very smoothly (as much as it can with 2 puppies)

Hawthorne Park has always been so amazing to us just with our regularly scheduled visits. We recently had an emergency visit and they got us in immediately and took our puppy right back to get her sorted, explaining every detail along the way to two scared pet parents.

wanted to get my ball python a wellness check to check for RI. I assumed they only really seen cats and dogs here so it wasn’t high on my list of calls. I called all of the exotic vets in town but all of them were booked out for weeks. When I did finally call the receptionist was super super nice she made sure the vet would see a ball python and got her in the same day. All of the staff the vet, the assistants everyone was so sweet and really payed attention to my little girl beans and made sure she got all the love and care she needed. They let me know that they do see exotics so I am going to spread the word to all of my reptile owner friends cause this is the most friendly staff I’ve encountered in vet practice. I will be bringing beans back to this specific location for all of my vet needs. Thank you guys❤ 10/10 would recommend this vet

Just started going to this Vet. I was truly surprised at how much time was spent on our dog Saly. We just got a puppy and it's good to have a place we can be confident in.

Yesterday my cat became lethargic and wouldn’t open his eyes. He was cold to the touch and just not himself at all. I called EVERY vet in Bloomington/Normal and everyone directed me to U of I. I knew we didn’t have enough time to get him out to Champaign. Hawthorne Park Animal Care Center was the LAST call I made. They got me in IMMEDIATELY. The news wasn’t good. My little guy had fluid in his abdomen that was likely caused by cardiac disease. The vet handled it professionally and gave me options. Ultimately we decided euthanasia was the best option to end his suffering. The prices are reasonable and made the decision less about finance and more about love. This is my first vet experience in Bloomington/Normal, and now I will not go anywhere else. Thank you Hawthorne Park Animal Care Center! You guys are awesome.

Our sort of old and kind of broken dog actually seemed to enjoy his very first visit here. The vet & her staff clearly know what they're doing. Highly recommend!

AN IMPORTANT UPDATE: their euthanasia and cremation services are absolutely wonderful & totally affordable. Please, if you or someone you know has an ill pet... tell them about this vet. As the humans, we are in the unique and privileged position to make sure our pets don't live OR die painfully. It may be a hard decision for you to make but I guarantee you it's harder for the animal who must live in pain. We don't just recommend this vet for regular medical care but also end-of-life care, perhaps especially so.

This was our best vet visit of the last year! One of my dogs had TPLO surgery last June & the surgeon recommended hydrotherapy to help with his recovery. I was thrilled to find a vet in Bloomington that offered hydro. We started about 6 weeks after surgery, 2 times a week at first then weekly & it really helped his recovery. At this Last appointment we saw a different vet, same practice & he said he never would have known he had the surgery. The leg felt the same as his good one. I am so thankful we have a local vet that offers this service! I love all of the staff there & feel like we finally found a new vet home!

Our visits to Hawthorne Park Animal Care Center are always great. My dog Thor is not always easy as a large dog but the staff and vets are great!!

I took one of our dogs here for the first time because our long-time country vet retired. The staff and veterinarian were all so friendly and caring. Everything was explained thoroughly, and I feel like our dog received excellent care. The pricing seemed reasonable, though certainly a little higher than what I was use to with our country vet (totally understandable considering the very nice facility and large staff.) The bill was detailed and itemized to explain exactly what we were paying for. They were able to see our dog very quickly—the same day I called, which was great. I’m happy with the decision and plan to continue to take our dogs to Hawthorne for care in the future.

Dr. Kilby is our veterinarian. She brings a personalized experience to our every visit. She is so knowledgeable and patient with us to help us better understand what our dog (40 lb Australia Shepard) is going through and how to give her the best care she needs. We get an itemized breakdown of our vet bills which are explained by the vet techs in more depth, which is reassuring and helpful. We really value the friendliness of the staff and ethical practices that Hawthorne upholds.

Dr.Kilbe was kind, thorough and professional throughout the whole process of eventually determining euthanasia was best for our dog Leo.

The staff at Hawthorne Park were wonderful. We just moved to the area with our allergy-ridden dog and are in the midst of immunotherapy (which entails a very strict schedule in which she is supposed to receive her injections). With that said, we were looking for a place to get our dog in on very short notice, and we are so glad it was this establishment! The front desk staff were so helpful on the phone and so pleasant to speak to. While calling other offices, I was greeted by some not-so-friendly people, but Hawthorne’s staff were extremely kind. Also, Dr. Kilby was absolutely amazing with our anxious girl. In the past, we have had vets who only acknowledged our presence and failed to acknowledge our dog and her anxiety, but Dr. Kilby took the time to greet our dog and showed her the same patience and love as we would at home. Dr. Kilby was also very knowledgeable and informative in regards to our dog’s skin condition, and we left feeling well aware of our options for treatment.

My cat woke up in not feeling well and in pain. They were able to see him and get him medicated and treated that very day. I was extremely relieved to be able to get him feeling better that soon.
