Joanie's Pizzeria of Long Grove

This past November marked the very 1st time dining in at Joanie's and most definitely won't be the last.

Located in lovely downtown Long Grove, the locals are lucky to have this gem, I'm talking both excellent pizza and fried chicken.

My wife & I both really wanna come back here. I loved that pizza and my wife mentioned that was THE BEST fried chicken she's ever had in her life.

Great service in an upscale but country feel, prices are reasonable and the venue kept very clean.

I always strive to support local and I hope for continued success & prosperity for the owner(s).🍕🍗

Had an enjoyable Saturday lunch on the restatrant's patio by the pond. We had a small Village pizza which has italian sausage, green pepper, onion and mushroom in it. A small size was big enough for 2~3 adults and you can choose its shape either round or rectangle. Other foods on the surroundig tables looked delicious, too. The pizza crust hasI the just right texture and thickness. It was very delicious but wished there was a bit more veges in it.

One non food related comment is that there were enough number of servers but it seemed that they were not well corordinated for patio seving from seating to payment, especially getting hold of a staff to make an order was a long long wait and I ended up going inside to the main dining area to order food.

Overall, very good food and atmosphere. Enjoyed talking with the owner/manager!

First time at Joanies, for lunch when the restaurant was extremely busy during the Long Grove annual Chocolate Festival. Limited menu for that reason including their signature Detroit pizza — it was delicious!! This pizza is on par with the best Chicago has to offer (Lou Malnati’s, Giordano’s, Pequod’s), 2/3 as tall as a deep dish pizza, and cooked in a metal pan that crisps up the crust edge (like Pequod’s) until developing a wonderfully flavorful oiled edge that makes it almost the best part of the pizza (see the pics). Ordered Sausage from the short menu provided due to the fest, and will order exactly the same next time … it was that good!!!

This place is a gem.
The pizza blew our expectations away.
We’ve had the regular style pizza, and can’t get enough of the Detroit style, but I bet you didn’t even think I would rave about their ribs!
Honestly, I think their St. Louis style ribs are as good or better than Carson’s. I can’t think of another place I’d be excited to get ribs than at Joanie’s.
We’ve been repeat customers since we’ve discovered the place, and expect to frequent the restaurant.
I can’t wait to try more of their menu too!

Went for lunch with family. Had the Greek salad, Detroit style pizza & broasted chicken. Everything was delicious. Also had a hot buttered rum drink, also delicious. Great atmosphere looking out on the pond. Highly recommend this place.

The best pizza I have tried so far in Illinois, it was amazing. The only thing was there were missing beets on the salad which I would have not noticed but my friend frequents this place and caught it. We had already served ourselves portions of the salad before she saw that. Other than that great place to eat

Really good pizza! Busy place. Great staff. Off season so easy to park. Try to make a reservation if you can. Detroit style pizza well done is the way to go.

We love Tina's White Sangria and the outdoor dining is relaxing. Great food, attentive service, excellent music! Have never had a bad experience..its always good! Ruben pizza is delicious, fresh salads, broasted chicken...all good

First timers here and had a great experience. Our table ordered bruschetta, salad, and Detroit-style pizza. All was delicious, especially the pizza. Service was fantastic - from the young man who seated us to the woman who was our server. Water was out on our table immediately and drink orders taken and served within a few min. Restaurant and bathrooms were clean. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 on the ambiance is because we had a speaker right above our table (poor placement!) that was playing disco music too loud. Can't wait to come back in the warmer weather and sit outside on the deck and perhaps try their broasted chicken.

Really enjoyed our 1st visit to Joanie's of Long Grove. The chicken parmesan calzone was so tasty! (definitely would recommend). On our next visit, will try the Detroit Style pizza as other tables around us ordered it. We also got a salad and the churro pillows for desert. Everything was great!

I've never had better pizza in my life. The debate about deep dish or thin is moot. The best pizzas have the best flavors and Joanie's has the best! The Asian Chicken Pizza was the best pizza experience I've ever had. Get it thin crust, then thank me later.

Had a wonderful early dinner on the patio this evening with a dear friend. After reading a review praising their boasted chicken and Detroit pizza, we ordered both and shared; it exceeded the hype. Food was delicious, the service from Tina was fantastic and, in contrast to a review I read that mentioned the owner, he stopped by to introduce himself, see how we were doing yet respectful of our conversation. . . he waited until there was a lull in our conversation, and was very engaging. All around a great evening, and we can’t wait to return.

This place hit on all cylinders from the first call when I tried to make reservations and they informed me they weren’t taking them at the present time BUT the gentleman on the phone said he would be working that night and would be happy to accommodate our group. Sure enough, we scored a great table.

Our server was very friendly, professional and knew the perfect balance between present and overbearing.

The food was amazing! Perfectly cooked thin crust pizza with a sauce that was well balanced with sweet and rich tang. The chicken was broasted heaven and paired with the potatoes, you have a perfect dinner.

Their covid protocols are present and enforced so you feel safe.

Amazing place. Probably some of the best pan pizza I've had. The staff was very nice and when my son was crying. One even offered to calm him down. 100% will be coming again.

Tina took care of us wonderfully she was cheerful and was in top of watching if we needed refills or boxes very enjoyable experience.

We visit lincolnshire a few times a year for a relaxing "staycation". How we never knew about Joanie's is beyond me, but we will make it a point to return every time from now on! The BROASTED CHICKEN is TO DIE FOR!!! We got the dinner and the broasted potatoes were plentiful and addictively delicious! We had two "pick 2" orders ... my teens loved their Italian subs and each ordered a fabulous and large specialty "side" salad that could have been a meal in itself. The GM Scott came over and checked on us and offered for us to try a new sauce on the chicken he's thinking of trying out. Brought us each a broasted wing with the sauce (spicy honey), and wow... blew us away! We can't wait to come back and try the pizza!

This summer they will extend the deck over the pond. Can't wait to sit out next time we visit!

Great friendly staff with good quality food. Portions are very generous and tasty. Our waitress/bartender Isabella was very knowledgeable with suggestions and made some of the best French Martinis we ever had. Very good local spot, we’ll be back.

The pizza on point ... the boasted chicken was excellent.. the appetizer of the loaded potatoes was a meal in its self and awesome.. 2.5 hr drive from Wisconsin was worth the trip....they hosted our car club event. The entire staff was awesome!!! Highly Highly recommend
