Namaste Indian Vegetarian Take Out Food

Delicious food! The meal was healthy and fresh and really almost light - while still totally filling us up! Not the gut bomb that some American Indian food can be. Also, steaming hot still when we got it home! An unexpected gem of a restaurant that we will be returning to regularly!

Note that Gujarati food has more dishes sweetened slightly, including lentils.

We always eat there and order another meal to take out for our next lunch or dinner! Very clean overall, modern casual decor with pleasing ethnic touches. Fabulous view overlooking the bay. Some seating on uncovered deck.

I’ve eaten all over the world and I am a foodie… This by far hands-down is the best Indian food I have ever placed on my pallet. The view is astonishing but it’s nothing compared to the wonderful family that prepares your meal. Their kindness and thoughtfulness while we stayed at the motel for a week once we found out how good the food was we just kept eating there. Food was great abd service was awesome with beautiful view outside.

This place is a midcoast gem. We did takeout almost weekly this summer and have been getting delivery since November. Everything is delicious and the dishes are of consistent high quality week to week. It's also nice that they occasionally rotate some different dishes in to give regulars something new to try (e.g., banana curry this week, dum aloo last week). The malai kofta is probably our favorite dish but everything is delicious (and the lassi is frothy fun to drink along with the food). Very kind, hospitable people even in this challenging, socially-distant time. Highly recommended. Our only wish is that they were open every day! (The photo is from an October thali meal they offered. We had the great coastal view outside the restaurant to ourselves.)

Perfect spot for takeout or dining in when in the Rockport/Camden area — Super flavorful food and great seating by the water!! Plentiful vegan & gluten free options as well.

We used the online ordering, which was fast and easy. Our order was ready on time and they helped my husband bring the food out to the car. Everything was DELICIOUS! 10/10 would recommend this restaurant especially thali when it's the special for the week.

If I was a local, this would be where I would frequent for Northern Indian food. This is not a dine-in restaurant, however, you can order online (or in-person) and there are lots of tables (with gorgeous views of the bay) in addition to a quaint patio (with seating) with impeccable views. You can eat there if you don't mind sacrificing nice plates and glasses for take-out plates/glasses for a beautiful experience! My family ordered take-out and while we were waiting we played some music and brought our own bottle of wine. We ordered samosas, papad, various chutneys, raita, and three entrees plus additional rice. We LOVED the food. It was some of the best Indian food we have had in a very long time! It was so flavorful and obviously fresh. We met the mother and daughter (who cooked for us) and who were very kind. We bought jewelry and soap made by this family as well. HIGHLY recommend!!!

A little hard to find, and a little tricky to order, but so worth it! Delicious, authentic Indian food. The gluten free roti was such a treat! And the beautiful ocean view was such a fun surprise!

Recommend: looking for Ledges by the Bay, going into the office entrance, scanning the code at the front desk for the menu, finding a table by the back windows, ordering through the menu (only option), and enjoying the view (bring binoculars if you’d like) during your short wait for delicious food!

We were pleasantly surprised to find legit Indian food in a small town in Maine. At a motel of all places. We were a little confused where we were at first, but the food pickup is at the "Ledges by the Bay" main building.

A heartwarming small business in a serene location. My friends and I visited this place in the late evening after a long day out on the road. Initially, they politely told us that they were done taking orders for the day. But the kind lady manager was unable to let us go back hungry and disappointed. She walked over and offered to serve us if we could wait for a few minutes.

We placed our order and took a stroll in the quaint lawn nearby overlooking the waterfront while it was being prepared. Soon, the food was ready and it was delicious. The pakoras and samosas were some of the best that you can find in the US, even rivaling places in India.

Would absolutely recommend giving this place a try for food made with care and love, and staff members who are a fine example of Indian values and hospitality. Cheers!

Did you ever go home with a college friend and their mom would cook the most comforting, delicious food for you all weekend? This place is like that - warm, unpretentious, and authentic. The moment we opened the container of rice, which is usually predictable and plain, we both said, “Wow! That smells great!” It only got better from there. Everything we tried was so good - the banana curry was unexpected and fun. The coconut kachori is not to be missed. Please, if you have the chance to enjoy this little gem, you should not pass it up.

This place is a treasure! The owners make everything from scratch using family recipes, and even stay open for much of the winter, which gives locals a much-needed option for spicing up a long Maine winter. Special occasion meals (like Valentine’s day weekend) are super fun and feel like a community event as well as a terrific meal. Meals are served in a cozy area abutting the hotel lobby that features expansive views of Penobscot bay. Not your typical restaurant, but so much more!

Three of us celebrated Holi with a delicious dinner at Namaste. We each had the sample platter, with variations according to each likes and dislikes. Definitely matches the best meals I have had in Southern India and definitely the best I've eaten in this country. We really enjoyed our meal, the view and our hostess, Dee. Will definitely be going back!

Spectacular Indian food nestled in Rockport. Total hidden gem. EASY online ordering and delivery if desired. It is hard to find great quality non-traditional cuisine in Maine (The seafood is great and all) but sometimes the authenticity is lacking. Here there is a wild variety of options and fits most diets. Everything is vegetarian, which is fairly normal for Indian. The dishes may have some extra heat than the traditional Maine palate can handle, but overall such a great addition to the meal options in the area!

What a delight! From NY and was cautiously optimistic before ordering - Namaste blew away our expectations. We got one of every entree available, plus a few appetizers, and loved the complex flavors, pleasant amount of heat, and whole spices (even in the rice). You can tell this was made with care and quality ingredients. We’ll definitely be back for more.

We have been looking for good Indian food since moving from Chicago years ago. This place fits the bill and then some. Fantastic dal-mahkni, naan, rice, dessert. Can't wait to try more of the menu. Online ordering is super easy. Pickup was simple. Well worth a trip even if it's out of your way.

Holy moly, I don’t usually write reviews for places but I had to for this one. This was delicious, it’s the best Indian food I’ve ever had. You bet, as a local, I’m definitely making this a regular visit.
