The Owls Head Transportation Museum was an over-the-top surprise. We ended up in Maine after the tourist season and were looking around for something interesting and fun to do. The Owls Head Transportation Museum delivered on both.

The museum had displays on everything from bicycles to airplanes and everything in between. If you are a MG car person, this is your place. What a great collection of MG cars.

The museum is well laid out. The displays are well done and very informative. Plan on spending at least half a day there or more especially if an event is going on.

We will for sure be returning to this great museum. My hat is off to all the people who help run this great place. You have done an extraordinary job!

My kids (10 and 5) absolutely loved this museum. There were so many things to see, lots of information for everything, little play areas throughout, and even a STEM area where kids could play and experiment. There were a few gentlemen working on the planes who were ready to answer all our questions and show us their cool engines. My 10 year old especially loved the free flight simulator arcade game. They were both free to enter, I was $15 so very worth the cost and the drive.

For anyone who loves airplanes and cars, this out of the way museum is a superb day-trip destination. They have a well rounded collection of largely pre-World War II aircraft and vintage automobiles. I'd estimate probably a dozen, plus aircraft and three or four dozen automobiles.

Our visit was over an early spring weekend when several exhibits were closed for maintenance and others, particularly the aircraft, were crowded together inside. In spite pf this we spent a great couple of hours looking at the great classic cars and motorcycles, steam engines and models of the mills they powered, and the aircraft, all preserved in working condition. This is a great place for the whole family with friendly and helpful staff, great gift shop, snack bar, and ample rest rooms. Plan on spending a couple of hours in winter or all day in the summer or during special events. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

I'm a car and train guy. As such, I've visited many, many car and transportation museums. This was truly one of, or the best I've been to. The exhibits are well thought out, the story boards informative and interesting, and the subjects varied. Further, my wife, who isn't as interested in transportation, also enjoyed herself very much. Would highly recommend.

What a great museum! Definitely worth a visit. Very friendly staff. David was awesome and took time to talk to us and show us some cars in the back explaining the history of many vehicles. My husband is the car guy in our relationship and I very much enjoyed this museum myself as well! Will return next time we are in town.

Great transportation museum with some unusual items in their collection. Plenty of parking, reasonable fees and a nice gift shop as well. Great place on a rainy day or anytime you want to wander around and learn something new. Looks like a great place to host an event as well. Stop in should you be in the area, it’s fun!

This is a great museum for all ages! It is worth the drive from southern Maine. There are attractions for kids in the stem center. They have bikes, planes, cars, wagons, racecars, motorcycles, and more!

We were camping. It was so cool to see what an old camper looked like.
We also got to sit in an aeroplane plane and one of the workers took a pic for us. It's tough climbing in and out of those old timey planes.

Military discount is free and included my wife.
I only had to pay for my Grandson age 12 $5.00.
The. Museum is awesome and has interactive venues for kids. Great place to spend some quiet time and learn about vintage cars and planes.

They had a truck show going on and the whole day turned out fantastic. Being a veteran, myself and my family were free. They had free ice cream by donation. And free rides on some of the vehicles. Excellent experience. Would recommend for any car enthusiasts and kids!

Super-cool museum where all the vehicles are super-shiny and very well cared for. It was really quiet when we went which was a bonus.

Went to see a car and air show and it was absolutely amazing. There were many cares from the 1900’s. They had an amazing selection of planes for the air show. Stunt acts were great!

Absolutely marvelous museum located in midcoast Maine! I had a wonderful visit that took me around two big loops showcasing all sorts of means of Transit. Cars and airplanes are definitely the focus of this museum but boats, bicycles, and trains do make their appearances here and there. A lot of the museum's articles especially their airplanes are still functioning! If you visit and an airplane has a drip pan underneath the engine you can count on it still being in operational condition! Price for the visit was very fair. The museum is continuously working on getting more things to display and wants to build the property up even more!

Awesome Museum - I've been several times for the special event weekends and loved it every time. From air planes, motorcycles, bicycles, cars; they have it all and the best part is everything runs! Definitely worth going to; plan to spend quite a few hours to read all the history.

We brought approximately 30 students ages 7-9 and 10 adults to the museum. The staff was prepared and had an engaging presentation. The kids especially loved the STEM area where they built and tested objects they made! Highly recommend visiting the museum!

Very interesting museum! I highly recommend visiting. Their website gives a lot of information. Events are scheduled throughout the year. There are free games for children and a play area for younger kids. Food and drinks are available during events. My favorite is the biplane rides.
