Clean and easy trail to walk. Boardwalk throughout the park. Great place to bring dog or kids. I’ve seen my fair share of deer wandering through here

Huff Park provides an escape to a natural area very close to downtown Grand Rapids. The main trail is wheelchair accessible, with a paved portion and boardwalk over the wetlands. The plastic lumber for the boardwalk does create static electricity, so expect the periodic shock when you touch something. The north parking lot by the playground and picnic pavilion has limited parking. However, the East lots by the baseball fields have plenty of parking.

Huff is truly a 4-season park, with interesting wildlife throughout the year. The resident deer are fairly habituated to humans and don’t spook quickly. cat tails and bushes provide perches where you can see the birds that you can also hear. The water level fluctuates throughout the year, while main trails are kept clear from snow and water. Deer paths provide other avenues for exploration. The doggie bag station provides resources to pick up after your dog. Also noticed a sign designating Huff as a tobacco free park. Other signs indicate no biking, rollerblading, or skateboarding. Benches around the trail provide a nice rest stop with a view.

I love going to Huff Park for walks. It has a boardwalk that goes through a lovely wooded area that often has little streams and you can see red-winged blackbirds, sometimes you get to see dear, bunnies, butterflies, dragonflies, and other critters. On nice days it is a very heavily populated area for walks. Lots of people and dogs.

This was a great little park. My daughter had a lot of fun crossing the balance beam in the middle of the playground. The little nature walk was fun too. We saw a deer at 2PM and it had no fear of us at all.

Lovely trail over the wetlands. Went to my niece’s baseball at the diamonds and found a wonderful trail around the park. Who knew such a lovely trail was right near Creston. This park was a hidden gem, and while we saw lots of others. It wasn’t overly crowded. Also, we saw deer and bird watchers.

I absolutely love walking through the boardwalk. Doesn't feel like you are right in the middle of the city. Lots of space to roam through the whole park. Play baseball. Have a picnic. Kids can play. People are always friendly.

A great park with a well kept boardwalk. Great place for birding. Walking path is about 3 miles start to finish passing through tall grass, tree canopies and deadwood. It's busy with birds in all seasons and is very peaceful in the evenings.

So nice! Very smooth, accessible trail. I love how much of it is a boardwalk over the wetland. Saw lots of cool birds, even some Sandhill cranes!

Huff park is a pretty stroll. There’s some great wildlife. The birds were nesting in the trees early this spring, which was kind of neat. Plus, the park and baseball diamonds make it a great place to bring the kids.

I liked this park before but the updated boardwalk is beautiful and has made this one of my favorite spots in the city. My fiance proposed here and in the coming weeks we will be doing our engagement photos here as well.

Great park for running, hiking, and walking the cat. Lots of wildlife to be seen, too: woodpeckers and many other birds, deer, musk rats, and squirrels on mission.

I love this park! I come here regularly to walk along the trails in the nature preserve and do some geocaching. They have a lovely playground as well on the one side perfect for anyone with kids.

The boardwalk has been reconstructed, so it is a great place to walk. It is the end of October, so many of the colors are gone now, but it is still a delight. We often see deer.

Lovely place to walk. The boardwalk through the marsh is wonderful, with benches to sit, and giving way to forest. You’ll hear birds and bullfrogs. Very calming and inviting place.

I love this little park. It offers nice trails and opportunities to watch wildlife, especially deer. The trails meander through marshland. There is a little playground for the kiddos and a baseball field. Perfect park for a short walk or jog.
