What a lovely place. I found this place while surfing the Web and was lucky enough to find a store in my city.

Walked in the store and was immediately greeted. The employees were very nice and personable.

The store is very clean and the layout is perfect. It flows very well, the spices/blends are clearly displayed and easy to find. I also appreciate that you can open a jar and smell the spices before you purchase them.

** They also have a great selection of extracts.

The best place to get your herbs and spices! You can choose your quantity, so freshness isn't an issue. Prices are just a little more than the grocery store brands, and the quality is so much better. I've been buying my herbs and spices there for years now, my whole cupboard is full of Penzeys products. Plus, the employees are awesome- so friendly and knowledgeable. Love this place!

Hands down, this store is the bomb! I LOVE going there, and so does my husband. There are jars of sample near the spice that you can smell and even taste. Even better, if you make a purchase, you get a free sample of a spice. The rub blends are fabulous-Chicago Steak is scrumptious!

Great products, great company. Been buying from them for over 30 years. You can count on absolute freshness and top quality of everything they sell. Once in a while, I've purchased a grocery store herb or spice out of convenience - I regret it every time and replace it with the Penzeys version as soon as I can.

This is a great business and a great company. Their spices can be a bit expensive (~$5 for a 1/4c jar) but they are usually running promotions for free or $1 spices if you get their email newsletter. I highly recommend the Mural of Life spice for steaks and the Arizona seasoning for chicken or French fries.

One location I wish that it was still on 28th street. I'd be there more often there fresh spices and my love of cooking would do some serious damage but since I don't get out to alpine very often I make the one trip a year and spend 30 to 40 bucks on spices and enjoy them the rest of the year. Nothing like these spices in gr and they are worth the price

The staff here are generally very educated and willing to go to lengths to find answers that they do not immediately know. The selection of spices in the store is EXCELLENT. Everything is organized well - alphabetically within their categories !!! I have also been in the store when the staff is doing a purge of old or faded spices which is very reassuring. The prices for the basic herbs and spices are WAY better than what you pay for McCormick down the street at Meijer. Some of the mixed spices are a bit pricier, but that all depends on what's in it.

I love Penzeys Spices! My must have cooking thing is Herb De Providence. Penzeys has the best tasting blend of any I've tried- and I've tried them all! I also love their hot mustard powder and Malabar pepper. What a difference good herbs and spices make in cooking and baking! The store is beautifully set up and each herb or spice has a sample jar so you can smell them before buying them. If you've only used herbs and spices from the grocery store, you are doing your cooking a disservice. The prices are very reasonable and not any more costly than what you pay at the grocery store.

Love them!!! Not only are their products wonderful, their owner is socially conscious. AND! They carry not one, but THREE different curries that are garlic and onion free! Fabulous for us low- FODMAP peeps. 😎😎😎

I ordered some spices for curbside pickup. Even though they were out of stock of their biggest size of turmeric, I was able to get the same price of the bulk size when ordering the same quantity in smaller sizes. I do appreciate their flexibility.

Amazing place!! I took my son there, bought my Mom a Christmas gift and a gift for my son's girlfriend. He said she would not use it and doesn't like spice . Then they started texting and he tells her we are at a spice store. She tells him she loves spices!!! Lol guess I was right about the gift...
Guys shop Penzey's!!!!

Visiting Penzeys makes you want to throw away your spice cabinet and just start over. The staff was unbelievably helpful. Everything looks and smells so fresh and it is.

I’d say their selection of spices is way more advanced from a normal market but they didn’t have everything you may need if you are into cooking a lot of ethnic food. You can get things like fenugreek and ajwain but you aren’t finding things like asafoetida or curry leaves. At the end of the day though, they have pretty much everything you would ever need.

They have a ton of spice blends (including a whole section of curry) and they all appear to be awesome from what I’ve tried so far. Again, you won’t find really ethnic blends like Ras El Hanout but you’ll find everything you need to make it from scratch.

To repeat, the staff is just awesome and for the spices I couldn’t get they sent me to their sister website where I got the last of what I needed.

The best part, all the spices (for the most part) come in a variety of sizes so you can get a small amount or save some money in bulk.

I will never buy a spice from a grocery store again as long as I live within reason from Penzeys.

Nice place. Very friendly staff. Try the Fox Point blend of spices. Works on everything. My favorite is a liberal dose on potatoes of any kind.

If you can think of a spice or blend, you can almost certainly find it here, and it will be fresh. Great selection, friendly staff, I love this place.

Worth the trip every time. If you're a serious cook, this is the only place to get your herbs and spices unless you grow your own.
