Rick's Coffee Bar

My wife and I are from out of town so we stopped in for coffee and breakfast. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The Nordic waffle and was delicious! I also love it highly supports Veterans. Must try.

Sunny coffee shop with plenty of indoor and patio seating. Really enjoyed the friendly service and little book area by the fireplace for my kids to wait by as I ordered. This would be a great spot to come to before/after a walk to the Falls or Nokomis or if you're in the area for an appt at the VA.

Beautiful, new coffee shop with excellent coffee and pastries. The best part is that it honors Msgt Richard "Rick" Gustafson, a highly decorated veteran who tragically took his own life. Their profits go towards helping veterans I believe. I would highly recommend it.

Highly recommend checking out for your morning coffee if your are in the area for the VA or Minnehaha Falls or if you live in the neighborhood!

Be careful of the stores hours though, as they may be closed when you want to go.

I'm a vet so I go there when I go to EOS, if I can tip. If I can't afford to tip, then I go for the Free drinks and food next door 😀

We got coffee and muffins. There was also water available. They had prepackaged gluten free options to eat which is great for people who have celiacs disease. The staff were very friendly. They were also child friendly which is not always the case when going out. We will be back.

Came down from the north side specifically for Ricks. The staff was amazing and you have to love an inviting environment.

If you are rating the coffee shop alone, it would be 5 stars. The German Chocolate Mocha is nigh perfection as an espresso drink--perfect blend of earthiness and sweetness. Space is super clean with indoor and patio seating.

But, when you also talk about the cause that the coffee shop is linked to--aiding veterans, it makes the shop 6 stars out of 5!

Picked up an Americano this morning from Rick's. Fresh shots of espresso, a beautiful layer of crema. Friendly baristas and 'coffee for a cause', honoring and supporting our veteran community. My neighborhood coffee shop.

Such a cute little coffee shop! They are dog friendly and were so welcoming. Chia tea latte was delicious! They support vets and mental health, which is wonderful. Highly Recommend.

Great mission, and love the espresso to milk ratio in their lattes. Also, nothing is overly sweet. My only feedback is my husband got the soy milk hot in his latte which seemed to solidify after being heated, not sure if the milk is barista grade, but that's easily remedied.

Rick's is a great coffee shop. They have a complete menu of espresso-milk (I say "Starbucks-style") drinks, all of which they will customize, including making it iced, adding flavor shots, or using milk substitutes. I've found these to be very good--better than Nokomis Beach Coffee as a point of comparison. They also have decent cold brew, but the espresso-milk drinks are the best. For food they have pastries, which are just as good as Mel-o-Glaze or A Baker's Wife.

Rick's is a part of the nonprofit Every Third Saturday (ETS). ETS designed and owns the building, out of which it assists veterans in the broadest sense. It's good to know the cafe exists to both be a gathering place for veterans, and also a neighborhood coffee shop.

Inside, the staff and space provide good vibes. I have a loyalty card with four punches already!

Bike, planet and veteran friendly. Great cafe mocha on a chill morning. Go local !

Great place for a coffee and a pastry. Helpful and smiling staff. A heads up, the Nordic waffles are just microwaved.
