I like my bread scooped and they understand. My fav, grill chicken with LTO. Chicken is well marinated. I love all the sides. Fresh baked bread in many varieties. This is the deli your parents and grandparents trusted when they didn’t want to cook. It’s the best.

I live on the West Coast. This place is where to go when in town. (A good friend reintroduced me).
The bread and Mozzarella alone are heavenly.
Everything is made with love and delicious. Maybe they make everything in a bad mood, I don't know but sometimes I think I'm missing a soul. Don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself. De-lish

My Mom would go to this bakery (previous owners) in the late 50s/early 60s. The bread is as wonderful today as it was then! Stopped by Sunday morning, the place was hopping! Under this ownership since 1967 ... but kept the old world Italian charm!

It's a sad limitation of Google that I can't give Nicolo's six stars or more. Let's just put it out there - this is the best bread in North Jersey. It beats the overrated, overhyped, and surly Calandra's by a country mile. Sorrento is very good, but Nicolo's has it beat. And the deli side - all of the freshly prepared Italian foods are delicious. Get something, or put something together mixing several options. Put a cutlet and broccoli rabe on a roll. Or maybe sausage and rabe. The frittatas are especially popular - put one (or mix a couple) onto their fresh bread for a breakfast (or lunch) like no other. This is a pillar of the community and must never ever close.

Oh my. Are you in for a treat! Small place with big flavor. Best Italian bread around, hands down. Old style crusty Italian bread, fresh baked every day. Stuffed breads, amazing. Fresh mozzarella made twice a day. Homemade food to go: lasagna, pork, sausage, grilled chicken, and deli. Frittata on one of their fresh baked rolls is heaven. Can buy their pizza dough to bring home, and it is fantastic. Their sauce is available to buy, too. Just a few sweet items, but they are all done very well. Coffee cake is to die for.

The food screen definitely going again. I thought the pace was a little bit bigger than what it was and it had done but it doesn't, but all in all the food is super definitely definitely a place to go.

I visited Montclair recently. As far as I can tell, the best thing about this neighborhood is this Bakery. The sandwiches were some of the best I ever had. The mozzarella Was the best I ever had. Baked goods breads, muffins, croissant... Were all amazing.
I was not a regular, and I could tell they are not used to tourists, However my experience was over all great, and food was delicious.

There isn't much more to say about Nicolo's other than it's perfect. My Dad started taking me here when I was a kid and it's still the same Nicolo's 20 years on. It's a neighborhood staple that's been around forever and I stand by it being the best bread you will find in North Jersey. Even the simplest thing like their sausage and egg frittata on Italian bread is out of this world. Great selection of sandwich's and prepared food as well as other Italian groceries. You will never regret going to Nicolo's and if you haven't been, you're missing out!

The most delicious deli, live in Boston and have to stop in every time we visit my mom in nj. cant recommend them enough

I've been in this area for nearly 7 years, and I hadn't found a deli I really loved (not that I've put THAT much effort into it), but here we are...!

I was overwhelmed by too many obviously good choices (their online menu seemed less prodigious than reality), so I deferred to my perennial favorite; a roast beef sandwich with cheddar, tomato and lettuce with a light helong of mayo on a 6-inch.

I'm still pondering the frittata I saw and their grilled chicken wraps, but I was thoroughly satisfied with the roast beef sandwich and the soft and moist crumb cake I did leave with.

I'll be back. Go, if you haven't already....

The most unbelievably delicious homemade, authentic Italian deli. They always have just-made fresh food and diverse specials. This family owned deli is a must visit if anywhere near Montclair or Glen Ridge.

I absolutely love Nicolos, they are always so friendly and everything so good. I really love their chicken cutlets aswell as their baked goods.

Ask anybody in Montclair where to go for the best bread and they will tell you Nicolo’s. But Nicolo’s is much more than bread. They are a classic Italian deli with great sandwiches and all the fixings for an Italian feast. The prices are a bit high but it’s worth it if you’re looking for the best in Italian food to go.

I've ordered from here with coworkers a few times, but I've never been here until a few days ago. We stopped in and got two #25s and a side of mushroom salad. Everything was delicious and the bread the wonderful. They were extremely busy but kept the line moving. They weren't overly friendly, but not rude either. They were simply just busy, which I assume many people who post negative reviews about bad customer service misinterpret as "rude." Absolutely making this our new go-to.

In addition, to the delicious breads and delicacies — you will find the best homemade tuna in Jersey (Ask for a tuna sub with raw onion and oil and vinegar. Delicioso!) The customer service is extraordinary, especially from Jose! Don’t go anywhere else!

This place has always been one of the favorite places to eat at. Everything is fresh, sandwiches made while you wait. Fresh bread and salads all day. Staff is great and the place is always clean, awesome atmosphere. Recommend Nicolo's, and you will, too!

Where to begin!! The bread is amazing! Their frittatas, our second to none. Most of all, they’re no words, for the cookies. We sat outside and had our coffee and frittata sandwiches on the semolina bread. Yummy!!!!
