Bragman's Delicatessen

Being from Brooklyn, I'm spoiled food wise. After seeing really good reviews for Bragman's Delicatessen, I gave it a try. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! I was given samples of the beef brisket and the pastrami while I waited on line. The samples were everything I hoped. I got the Charlie & the Jonathon. I then hurried home where my wife and older son and I ate these sandwiches with amazement. My son who is hard to impress loved the Jonathon while my wife leaned towards the Charlie. Me, imma foodie, they were both spectacular. Just be warned, Bragman's goes from 0 to 60 in minutes. I walked in and it was just me, 2 minutes later a dozen people were in there. Well worth the price.

Me and my family have been going here for years. The food is still delicious and they have good customer service, they feed the poor!! , they are black Muslim owned, the food is fresh, the food is fulfilling, the money is worth it!!!!! This is a deli I dont want to leave. I've been in Newark all my life and things are changing. Old restaurants are leaving and being replaced by expensive small portion cat food. This is the best sandwich deli place in NJ/ best I've ever had HANDS DOWN!!! NO DEBATES!!! SHUT UP , AND GO DOWN TO BRAGMAN'S AND GRAB A CHARLIES SPECIAL!!!

The new owners are doing justice to the quality of the food you're used to from Bragman's. If you haven't been there before you're missing out on an awesome spot to get really good sandwiches. The young lady that is at the counter is sweet and thoughtful/

I recently visited Bragman's and was lucky enough to meet the new owner Kai. He's 100% committed to maintaining and improving the legacy of this awesome deli. A proper old school Jewish deli in the heart of Newark with the food to back it up. Try the pastrami and the corned beef and pair it with some of the old school deli sodas they have on offer. Will definitely come back

This deli has been around for 40+ yrs. They have the best cornbeef, pastrami sandwiches in Newark, NJ. They will give U a sample of the meat so that U know what you're getting. I was visiting NJ and my friend took me here for a nice sandwich. Prices are reasonable approx.$9-$14 for combo. They also do GREAT platters.

I went with my friend to this Deli. He has been going to this Deli since the 1960's. As for me, I never knew it existed until now. He raved about this place. The meet was fresh and seasoned. He spoke about their deli platter which is the best in town. The person that cuts the meet has been working there since the 60's and slices so thin that it's to perfection. it's really good to know that Newark still has a business that's thriving and still providing excellent service.

Great place to eat! I love how they offer I samples while you wait.. Very friendly and the food is delicious! I had the hot pastrami with cheese, Russian dressing and cold slaw on rye... All I can say is hmmm mmm good !

I ordered the Charlie's Special, best sandwich I ever ate. It was a great combination of pastrami and corn beef with coleslaw and special sauce. It melts in your mouth!

I haven't been to Bragman's in a numbered of year but my brother (younger) became the new owner I went there for a sandwich for which I shared pastrami & cornedbeef with mustard and coleslaw it was absolutely delicious and amazing.
I high recommend Bragman for all your sandwich need and more.

I never been here before and my experience was awesome. Employees were very nice and the gentleman that did my sandwich was so nice and very kind. My sandwich was nice and fresh and a serving out of this world. will definitely be back.

I always buy the hot pastrami with cole slaw. OMG!!! The pastrami is so tender. I guess I'll try the other sandwiches one day 😉 but for right now I'm sticking with the hot pastrami with cole slaw. And don't forget the pickle

OMG, What can I write about my favorite deli anywhere. Today my sandwich maker handed me half a handful of warm delicious corned beef and pastrami and I wanted to jump the counter and kiss him. I've had a love affair with Bragmans's that's closing in on 3 decades long! They've ruined me for any other deli and whenever I'm in Newark during the week I'm there. Thank You Bragman's for never changing.

Bragman's is THE place to get sandwiches in Newark, if not the state of NJ. I work in Newark, and found out about it from people who live in the area. I actually begged them to tell me where they had gotten such amazing sandwiches. The area is so-so - pretty decent for Newark. Just be alert. I go there weekly.
It beats out delis in NYC. If you're looking for classic deli sandwiches at unbeatable prices and quality, go to Bragman's. The lines are long, but the people who work there are friendly and efficient. I enjoy the camaraderie and back-and-forth. All are welcome here, and all are accepted. Good food unites everyone, and you will be delighted with what you buy. Plus the samples are awesome!
If you are a literary type, Bragman's is about all that is left of the thriving Jewish community Philip Roth writes about in his novels and stories. BRING CASH - no credit cards. I recommend the Rebecca & the Sloppy Joes. GO THERE!

It's rare that I get to go here but when I do I leave out happy because the food is so good and fresh. The staff is a well seasoned mature crew meaning the food is prepared with experience in my opinion.

Omg!!! How cld I have just discovered this place? By far and no exaggeration this is the best - BEST - place for your pastrami or other Jewish sandwich ever!!!

Around this area, there are some famous Jewish deli especially NYC Katz or Carnegie. Newarks most famous Jewish deli is hobby.

That being said, bragman's blows all these places out of the water. I had the Charlie sandwich w pastrami roast beef and Russian dressing and my god, my standard of pastrami sandwich will be on a whole different level. Everything about this place is right, except that it is located in not-most favorable neighborhoods of Newark.

I will definitely be back for more. Also, the portion is very generous and for under $10, you can get a specialty sandwich for 2!

Overall, I cannot say enough of the quality of food at this place. If you have room, and chances are you won't, try some of their home made pie.

I got a hot pastrami on rye and its was so good I didn't get anything on the bread or cheese the meat was so tender 🤤🤤 you know it's a good sandwich when you don't need anything to compliment it

My grandfather would bring me here when I was little & now I take my nephew here to get some good kosher/halal food. I dont even like Cole slaw, but I'll eat it from here.

Under new management, as of 2019 Bragman’s Delicatessen is now Black Owned. Still the same great taste and product, there are only a few changes: the original potato salad and egg salad recipe have changed; hotdogs, beef tongue and liverwurst aren’t available; unfortunately the Shabazz family stopped producing their sodas, and there is now a selection of different homemade pound cakes. Larry is still doing well, taking care of the lovely Janice, (all the sandwiches are named after real people) and for the first time in quite sometime he will be behind the slicer for short time.

The new owner doesn’t plan to change much, but make it a warmer experience, a new roof, some cosmetic changes.

I always love a nice juicy pastrami sandwich on rye yum yum oh yeah and the pickles don't never forget those that's what makes the sandwich
