New favorite coffee spot. Love exploring their "science menu," and so far, everything has been a hit. Classics like red eye and oatmilk latte are exceptional, but I especially loved the lavender-maple matcha they have right now.

Pastries like the chocolate croissant and pistachio bun were both fresh and flavorful.

Interior was unique, widely known for the airplane seating section. My personal favorite spot is where the Street Fighter cabinet is lol.

Will definitely be frequenting this spot from now on. Thanks for the yummy drinks!

Upon moving back to Montclair this year from Los Angeles, I stumbled upon Paper Plane Coffee Co., just a few blocks from our home. Discovering this gem was like finding a new hub of community in a beautifully special place. The welcoming vibe of the cafe is palpable from the moment you step in. The space is stunning, clean, and wonderfully appointed, creating an inviting atmosphere that beckons you to linger.

The service here is unparalleled; I'd give more stars if I could! Each visit leaves me more impressed, with staff consistently delivering exceptional, friendly service.

The coffee? Simply outstanding. Over the past month, I've savored a variety of their beans, and whether hot or iced, each cup is a revelation. The perfectly roasted beans reveal intricate notes that are a testament to their meticulous crafting.

I’m particularly fond of their pour-over options, which are available even iced – a unique treat that complements their incredible selection of beans. The consistency in quality and the use of incredibly top-shelf ingredients in their creations set them apart. The menu refreshes monthly, introducing unique offerings that demonstrate creativity and a deep passion for coffee.

In my opinion, Paper Plane Coffee Co. is not just a coffee shop, but the pinnacle among coffee roasters and cafes, elevating the standard far beyond what I typically have seen even in specialty coffee or third-wave establishments I frequented. Their commitment to quality and innovation sets a benchmark that others in the industry should aspire to. Here's to many more years of success for this outstanding establishment and its exceptional team!

Went here for 2 different days both raining and this place is still packed, which is good for the business. I love the variety of the menu, it has creative drinks and they're really good, not that strong. I also like the interior and very cozy plane seating, though I wish I could've stayed but it's hard to find a seat. Overall, i would recommend trying this coffee shop for a unique experience!

The Paper Plane Coffee shop offers a pleasant ambiance with friendly staff, although seating is limited, especially during winter when outdoor seating isn't available. Despite its popularity and frequent busyness, the prices are moderate, and they offer unique items like coffee with soda. I particularly enjoyed their almond croissant. Additionally, they provide free Wi-Fi, but parking can be a bit challenging as it's limited to street-side spots. I've attached photos of their menu for reference.

The staff was great. The manager (Melissa) spent so much time explaining ingredients, processes and options to us. Then she took extra care to hand wash equipment to be sure there was no gluten cross contamination (I have celiac disease). Great drink menu. Awesome seating options. Cool decor. Definitely worth the drive.

Found it while exploring the neighborhood. Really nice cafe, felt like complete airport friendly experience. The staff and drinks are completely outstanding. I do wanna come again for another trip and try more drinks on the weird science menu.

A very cool coffee spot with a few airplane seats. The menu is also a plus - special and unique, completely different from anywhere else. They do have some regular things if you mind trying mixed formulas. The barista and servers are nice and informative to explain the menu. That's why it's always crowded and packed up. I went there during the Halloween season so spooky decorations were around. Can't wait to see their next coming occasional ones.

Long wait, even on a chilly Sunday afternoon, but definitely worth it. It might take a minute to get a table, but the seats are comfy and the space is nice. Parking is tight, too, but with some patience and some time to spare you can get a great cup of coffee.

I have NEVER seen such a gorgeous piece of latte art like the one I got today! The service was lovely and the vibe is SO cool. Unfortunately it’s limited seating so I couldn’t stay but I will be back when it’s hopefully a little less crowded!

Delicious and fresh. Small and cozy with a charming airplane motif. Very large selection of coffee and hot beverages. Limited selection of delicious French pastry. Friendly but busy, quick take-out, limited seating for patrons. Reasonably priced. Check their website for busy times and extensive menu. Good suggestion: have your menu selection in mind before you arrive. Curbside neighborhood parking. Popular place. Packaged coffee, other beverages, snacks and merchandise items available for sale.

Super cute coffee shop! Loved the interior and vibe. The coffee was pretty good. We tried the polychrome and another drink on the Science menu that I can’t remember the name of. Loved the seating area that resembled the inside of an airplane. So cool! Staff was also very friendly. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. But plan to wait a little bit. Seems like it can get pretty busy and packed. Especially on a Saturday morning or early afternoon.

Now for my standard COVID comments as of April 2023. No one is wearing masks. I felt comfortable in the shop but do notice that it could get crowded when waiting in line. Besides that, it was all good.

I recently visited Paper Plane Coffee and had a fantastic experience. The pour over I ordered was expertly brewed and tasted amazing. The coffee shop has a modern, lab-like feel that adds to the overall experience. The attention to detail in both the coffee and the aesthetics of the shop is impressive. I would definitely recommend Paper Plane Coffee to any coffee lover looking for a unique and delicious coffee experience. 5 stars!

This place is adorable! I'm a flight attendant, so the appeal is kind of obvious. But it has a sort of artsy, retro vibe set in this historical building on the corner on Montclair that just really works! I love the colorful touches everywhere, including flowers outside; and sweet cafe tables and even a water bowl for the occasional doggo customer! The menu is unique and offers international flavor that might make it hard for you to decide what to order! Haha! (Attaching images of the menu from the wall!) Of the things I've tried, the Mayan Latte is my personal fav and I'll likely get it next time! It's got some kick that's just an interesting way to start the day... or the afternoon. Never judge a flight attendant for the schedule they keep!
I highly recommend a visit and if you've got a minute to just sit, the aircraft window seats are pretty cute!

First time here, the Mayan Chocolate is so delicious, twist of expression and hot chocolate, and the pastry was a perfect addition, a good sweet. One of the barista Michael, very welcoming and kind!

My God. The coffee here is so strong I started having some palpations (I also finished my wife's coffee). Other than that, it's pretty packed here on the weekend so it might be tough to get a spot to read/study/work.

Was looking for a place to grab a cup of coffee and kill some time in the greater-Montclair area and decided to give this place a shot. The reviews seemed good and the pics made it seem fun and cozy. And it was all that!
Go check it out yourself and you might find your new favorite coffee shop!

I’ve been to almost every coffee shop worth visiting in North NJ and can say that this is the best one I’ve visited.

Coffee: 5/5 great consistent selection of single origin beans. Not the best ones I’ve had in NJ, but it’s probably the best value considering its price point is very reasonable! Truly an innovative coffee shop when it comes to the selection of drinks they offer. There are so many drinks to choose from that I think can serve all types of coffee drinkers, whether you appreciate the intricate tasting notes of an Ethiopian single origin pour over, or you're the type to mostly drink sweeter coffee drinks. I definitely want to try everything!

Vibe: 5/5. It’s a unique experience for sure with its retro airplane theme. I appreciate the fidelity to the theme and it’s consistent execution in even the fine details that most people wouldn’t notice. The music can be hit or miss. When I visited early Sunday morning, they had a Japanese city pop playlist going on, which seems to be a subtle nod to its retro aesthetic, which I highly appreciate. But later that day, the music changed and can’t say I was a fan of the later playlists. Not a big deal and everyone has their own tastes, I'm just glad I got to hear some city pop that I never thought I'd hear at a coffee shop!

Service: 5/5 they’ve always been very friendly to me every time I’ve visited, happy to answer any questions I’ve had and were patient with my indecisiveness haha

This place is so cool, it is located in a beautiful city, not too far from Jersey City/Hoboken, the place has good choices of coffees and not a lot about food. It has the option to seat inside or outside, outside during the summer is very nice, but inside is where the magic happens, you can be “onboarding” in a plane, and the ambiance is so cool and interesting, you literally can seat in-flight seats, have fake windows and an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend you to know the place.
