I had an amazing time here with my family. This is one of my favorite places to go now. It's the closest thing I can get to Asheville NC, ever since I moved. I visit this area whenever I'm missing the mountains. It's a great place for hiking, and having birthday parties/family gatherings. I also sense a lot of our Native American Ancestors' presence here, so it feels extra special to me.

It was my first time, and I absolutely loved it! This place was so beautiful, and I can't wait to go exploring more here.

We had a great time while visiting John Bryan State Park. The park is located just East of Yellow Springs, Ohio which is a great little town to visit as well. We stayed in the campgrounds and hiked numerous trails. The campgrounds were nice and well kept and offer great accommodations. We enjoyed hiking the Stagecoach Trail, South Gorge Trail, and the Ridge trail which were all beautiful and offered scenic views of the Clifton Gorge, Little Miami River and some awesome Rock Formations. The park also has a storybook trail and playground for the youngsters, picnic shelters and bike trail. A great place to spend a weekend or afternoon exploring nature.

One of the best state parks in Ohio. There are a bunch of trails. Everything from very easily navigable to a few moderately challenging spots. The views can't be beat and out connects to Clifton Gorge Park. I could spend days wandering through John Bryan and still not see everything it has to offer

Inspiring natural escape tucked neatly into southwest Ohio. We hiked east from the parking lot on the north side of the gorge and crossed the bridge and came back the other side. It was a lovely, sunny winter afternoon and the light filtering through the naked trees and reflecting off the river and snow was refreshing. Trail was clean. Some parts off the beaten path more challenging, but worth it. Easy to moderate overall. Some mud with recent snow melt. Love this place! We plan on going once a month this year since it's close enough to home in Dayton.

We biked 65 miles to camp at this park and almost didn’t have a spot to pitch our tent but Mallory who was working at the camp office came through for us!! Our hero! She was working at the camp office and she was more than helpful - she was kind and compassionate too! We are so grateful to her for getting us a place to set up for the night at campsite 13. To our wonderful surprise they had a VERY clean and nice shower house. I think it must have been recently built because of how good of condition it was in! No problem getting hot water for the shower either 🙌🏾. The camp office is such a convenient place to get things you may need or might have forgotten. We got a crew neck sweatshirt that is very soft, warm, and comfortable, some drinks/snacks/ice cream (because 65miles bikepacking will have you craving just about everything you see), and a bundle of firewood - this was unfortunately pretty damp and we ended up not being able to have a fire but it had stormed that day so we understood. Still a bummer though. Great site for camping!

**PSA - there is a place that delivers pizza here! Our delivery driver dropped it off right at our camp site**

Lovely park, quiet corners, well maintained trails, scenic overhangs, and a few breathtaking views. Must visit location for a nice hike, photography, or simply communing with nature!

Update: It's even better with everything in bloom. The greens and lush canopies. Wonderful place to explore and get lost for the afternoon.

I really enjoyed my time here the other day. It was a fairly moderate loop trail I went on just under a hour. You could also run this trail for sure.

We visited John Bryan State Park on October 22, just as the fall colors were fading away. If you’re looking for a prime parking spot for your visit, I recommend setting your Google maps destination to “John Bryan State Park Lower Shelter”.

From this parking area, you will have access to the “AA” trailhead, which connects to virtually all trails along the Little Miami River (South Gorge Trail, Pittsburgh-Cincinnati Trail, Ridge Trail, North Rim Trail, and more).

The South Gorge Trail is accessible by crossing the South Gorge Bridge and runs along the south-side of the Little Miami. This trail runs along the river and features large boulders along the trail, babbling brooks that feed into the river, small bridges to cross the brooks, and a beautiful rock face along the entire gorge.

The Pittsburgh-Cincinnati trail is runs parallel to South Gorge Trail along the north-side of the river and also has large boulders to explore and has a more colorful canopy of trees (better autumn colors).

Connecting the two trails are two bridges: South Gorge Bridge (east) and a smaller foot bridge (west). Together, these bridges and trails make a natural loop that is a moderately easy walk.

This park is dog friendly (except for the special trail that run through the nature preserve).

Had a great stay here. Love the trails. Even though I'm 64 and my husband is 73, we still camp and hike

Had an amazing hike through the park, there’s some pretty rough terrain in certain spots. Overall, very satisfied with the entire visit and hike.

Great hiking trails with lots of interesting geology and history to see. The trails are clean and well maintained, but some are fairly steep and very rocky, so know your abilities and wear proper shoes/boots. The trails here connect with Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve, and (if you can find your way on the web of little connector trails) Glen Helen Preserve. Bring plenty of water and a camera!

What a lovely park! We needed to stretch somewhere beautiful and this park fit the bill! The trails are clearly marked, parking is plentiful, the scenery is breathtaking. I had such fun watching the families with small children using the Storybook Trail. Education and exercise. Good job! ❤

This is a beautiful state park. It happens to be in between Glen Helen Nature Preserve and Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve. They are all connected by trails and are all amazing. John Bryan State Park has plenty of parking, clean restrooms and well maintained and clearly marked trails.

This is a favorite overnight Bushcraft campground for me. The flora is so diverse and any forager will stay entertained for weeks and still barely explore the edible variety of plants. The terrain is fun to explore with cliffs, gorges, water falls, bubbling streams, massive trees, and rock formations that make for excellent photos.
