Union Cemetery

I want to let the world know that the union cemetery employees are wonderful and truly a God sent. The funeral home dropped the ball on the cemetery arrangements, so I went to the site personally and talked to the cemetery coordinators. They were able to accommodate a funeral for my dad on a Saturday even though they were booked and was able to get a plot next to his mother and brother. I am so happy, pleased and grateful for everything. Thank you and God bless

I never thought I'd write a rewview for a cemetery, but then again, I didn't expect to lose my husband to cancer, either.

When I went in to make arrangements for Doug to be interred in a niche, I had little idea of what to expect or how it would be handled. As anyone who has been through this can tell you, it's a very emotional thing.

But I was truly blessed that day. A Union Cemetery representative named Jimmie just happened to be the one to help me -- and it was like God had put one of his angels on Earth.

Jimmie was kind and gentle as needed that day (and beyond) with a smile as warm as the late summer sunshine. He got through the detail work with me quickly (but thoroughly) and we then proceeded to the mausoleum to make a choice.

As it turned out, we ended up in Chapel B, and it was a beautiful and calming setting; and it took no time at all to find just the right space for Doug (and eventually me) to spend eternity.

It was as pain-free as something like this can be, and all of it because of this guy with the big heart -- and the warm smile.

Union Cemetery is a beautiful place; and very well maintained. Being there has calming and quieting effect on me now -- and it's the perfect place to spend some time if you want a peaceful place to contemplate where life is taking you.

I hope the folks who run this cemetery understand what a great employee they have in Jimmie. He made what could have been a much more difficult and traumatic time as easy as humanly possible. I can think of no higher praise to give him.

My son is buried here in babyland. The only thing I dislike about it is we can not decorate our children's plots. I know they do it for mowing season and it makes it easier, but I'd love to put something out there for my son besides flower that die in a few days. Either way I enjoy going to Union cemetery.

The staff at Union Cemetery are very nice, patient, and extremely professional. The grounds of the cemetery are kept up very nice.

Many of my family, since the creation of the cemetery, have been interred here, and the staff has always been kind and accommodating

Provided water (we used to clean headstones), cemetery yard well kept.

It needs to have later hours for visitations. 4pm during week and 12pm on Saturdays doesn't give people who work a chance trio visit as often as they would like to.

I haven't actually had the privilege of taking advantage of their services. I have heard people are dying to get in. The ambiance is perfectly ghastly, and the staff is always putting people down, but that's no surprise. Did you know that Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy's is buried here?
